Same thing happened to me couple of years back.. the service center pressure washed the engine bay but I stopped him immediately. At that time i didn't notice much except for some wired noises which went away after couple of minutes. But the sad thing was my tachometer stopped working the next day. And the speedometer was playing havoc as well. I doubt it might have shot a couple of sensors and messed up a fuse or something.. Eventually I replaced the coil pack, cam sensor, crank sensor, plugs etc

Once automiraj tried to scan my car but none of their scanners worked.. I also have an elm 327 mini adapter which isn't detecting as well alternator place down kalubowila near budhagosha is the place I took the car and they are the ones who replaced it. I'm pretty sure that they would have done the voltage testing before handing over the car. When I took the car next day also they did some testing and told me everything seems to be working fine and still gave me an assurance if something goes wrong they will come for assistance and replace the alternator if required

yes its still in the boot done! i also removed and tightened just to be safe yes i can see it while idling as well.. its a very faint indicator and hardly visible during daytime. sometimes it goes away when accerating or using the power windows.

Update: i took the car back to the same place.. they checked the battery charging via a meter and confirmed that the alternator is wokring fine.. also when he put the AC/Lights and do a full throttle the battery indicator dissappeared and did not return. Anyway the garage gave me a warranty and told that in any case if the car stalls somewhere they will come and get it sorted for me and even replace the alternator for free. lets hope so btw i drove around 15kms afterwards and so far everything seems to be okay except for an occassional glimpse of that battery indicator. Any idea guys ?

I got a faint battery + brake light ON which was going away while racing and the headlight was kind of dim as well. so i took it to S*M*N A*U*O electician and was told that the alternator coil and the plate/board is fried and will cost around 10k to repair but its recommended to replace it with a reconditon one for 14k so obviously i went with the latter option. I didnt notice anything while driving back home but now i am getting a wierd problem which is contrasting to the earlier issue. This time both the lights arent going away when racing.. actually its blinking more while racing and going away (or very dim) on idle Any Idea GUYS!!!! ?#$$@@ YEAR: 2000 Model: KIA RIO

i don't see "kia" in t@@s agencies website (under brands) anyways ill try calling them tomorrow.. thanks i also called carplan but they told it was out of stock and not sure about the price lolz

mechanic asked me 2 replace both front shock absorbers how much will it cost and how long can i use once replaced ? i got a quote from a spare parts shop in dehiwala.. price range was 9k each (is it reasonable for a 2001 kia rio?) please advice. Thanks!

@ The_Don thanks for replying... horn works fine when engine is off.... so far i've not done any a/c repairs :-) What do you think about horn sensors etc ?

im using a "2001" kia rio symptoms: Horn works only when is A/c is off (mostly) Is it related to battery ? Please advice! Any help appreciated..... Thanks in advance :-)
