NadriquE and Sylvi thank you very much for your quick reply I just have a doubt if these bikes are registered by bribing (although its a 250 the YOM is way too old to register here or maybe I'm wrong) and if I send the registration book to RMV in order to get it transfer under my name will the bike get seized and will i loose my money and also will I have to go to the courts? I really don't like to use a vehicle under open papers.

I love Honda v4 engines. So I've decided to buy a Honda hornet 250 bike. This week I went bike hunting and found a good used bike and when I talked to a finance company they told me that it's impossible to give me a finance for this bike or something even reconditioned like this. Also I noticed that these bikes are made around 1996-2002 and they are registered here in Sri Lanka in 2010-2012. 1) What are the limitations of the YOM of a bike when importing to Sri lanka? 2) Although these bikes are under 250 cc are these bikes brought down here in parts and assembled locally? 3) If I buy a used bike is it even possible to get it transferred to my name and is this registration process legal? PS: I don't like to break any laws I'm just trying to make my dream come true or else I'll have to go for an Indian bike experts please help me

Dear members today some people toot their horns to vehicles with Learning boards even and they make the novice driver nervous. Female drivers are facing a lot of troubles in road. Will these boards saying baby on board help at all? Anyhow I also thought of buying one of those one day when I'm ready to have a baby to show my future wife that I'm expecting a baby. That's something intimacy related thing other than that I don't see any other use of it.

Hey dude I don't know whether this will help or not but give it a try. Download the workshop manual of L200 from this link. I think it's a must have for a L200 user. I found this while searching another workshop manual.

Please inspect vehicle registration documents and avoid buying from people who are not the registered owners of the vehicle. Go early in the morning and try to do a cold start yourself. Remove the deep stick and see the density of the engine oil. If it's too thick the owner has used a thick oil to fool you so that the engine smoke wont come out from the oil chamber. If any smoke or oil coming out from the oil chamber avoid buying that vehicle. Inspect any visual leaks from the top engine seals and other seals. If the engine is re built ask for a bill and see whether it's a reputable place and whether it's done properly. It's better to build the engine yourself after buying the van. Also don't buy the first van that you are going to inspect. Go to see several vans so that you can compare engine noises and other stuff. Avoid buying high deck ( just low) vans as it's very hard to re sell them. If you see the engine heating a lot it's normal for Serena it's made for long runs ( highway ) don't make it a problem this is a good choice. The problem is that most of the vans are sold by very cunning people so be aware.

Honda Jade is a good bike if you are able to find a well maintained one. Because this bike was first produced in 1980s. I think you are on a tight budget to go for a hornet and love to buy a 4 cylinder naked bike right? Do a good research and start hunting for a good Jade it's a good choice. Don't go for a Bandit. The first thing that you have to check when buying a V4 used bike is the carb. These bikes are very powerful so that the fuel economy is about 25 to 30 kmpl or maybe less if it's sports tuned. People here mess with the carb because of this. When you are buying a v4 first inspect the carb thoroughly and see any visible marks of repair or scratches or leaks. And also when you are going to inspect the bike touch the engine and see whether its hot before starting. Some owners worm up their bikes so that you wont notice any cold start issues. Start the bike yourself. See it can be started easily. These bikes should be treated like cars.

Here in Sri Lanka people tends to do trade in deals to vehicles that they can never sell. So if your vehicle is in a good condition please sell it and think of upgrading. I learnt this from my own previous bad experiences. Always look at the papers first then inspect the vehicle. Never buy open paper vehicles it's a huge risk. Also ask for service records. Avoid vehicles which are been registered for very short period under one name.

There's a Test for the battery when you buy a recon hybrid. It's better if you can do it before buying. Also I've heard some people are selling Maruties saying that it has only used as a second car since the car has only 20000 Kms in the clock. Beware of that because in maruties the meter reads 0 after passing 99999 so the actual millage for that car can be 120000 or maybe more. In CR41 and KR41 vans also this happens. Best way is to examine break pedal rubber, tire conditions then the engine's smoke test. Also ask for service records. It's better if you can refer to few green test reports also.

I brought down a Toyota allion 260 recently and now I'm going to get it registered. In the registration form there's a space for the size of front and the rear number plate sizes. As you know Toyota allion 260 car has a equal spaces allocated for number plates shall i order equal sizes? Do they really make number plates to the given measurements or do they have standard sizes? I haven't seen people using same size number plates to the front and rear. Will it look weird? Approximate sizes that I measured are 28.5 cm X 18 cm.
