Machan here in srilanka when it says off road water crossing is essential so V8 petrol engines are not good when it comes to deal with water. so machan u got a 90 or a 110?

But machan after a long muddy weekend when u r coming back to Colombo and yo vehicle is totally covered with mud, everyone looks at it with some respect!! I just love it machan. But unfortunately most of the SL chicks hate mud.

Of course not machan I really appreciate u guys genuine ideas. It is good to go for the original always so i look after my d-90 in that way but talking about this project I only need power to keep the wheels going. ya machan my grey landy got a 12j turbo one.

It is healthy macho / speciallythe front section of the vehicle/ roller cage is done by 2.5 iron GI pipes and now it has an outer roller cage for some additional strength. In UK This is how the do it So I took the same measurements and steps.

Machan when I got the 110 it came without an engine and the body was in critical condition. I decided to go for a 4dr6 turbo intercooler cause machan u know Japanese engines are reliable. Machan check the link below (v went 2 yala last month ) ya u r really true most of the rigidity is up to the bulk head so i have used additional support bars to get the job done.

Of course I’m not rich enough to get an original Tom cat so I will tell the story of mine. I was truly fascinated by jeeps from the very early age ( my dad is also a jeep nut) and after doing my A/L I got my first 4x4 a land rover defender and I have visited most of the remote place in Sri Lanka. So I wanted to come to off road rallies and decided not to use my faithful friend – D90 but to come up with a new one. The story of my version of “Tom” started like that. I started the project by getting a defender 110 donor vehicle and removed the body of it completely. Went 4 a 110 Cause it was bit difficult to find old rage rovers and discovery in SL so instead of using as it is I customized it to a 101 wheel base with some additional features for a better ground clearance. Talking about the body it is completely a “roller cage” and the only difference with an original tom is I have used a “Inter cooler turbo diesel 2.5 instead of a petrol V8. so the vehicle is almost done and doing “Finishing touches”. In Sl Osanda was the first one came with the “Tom cat” concept(not the one used for rain forest challenge).
