16.67 km/l? I'd say don't trust the trip computer all the time. Is this 6/100 figure, current fuel consumption or average figure.
-
Oh thanks for the trouble you took in trying to satisfy me, but no need, cuz as a brand Pugs never have let me down and neither it did cost me a fortune to own. I've driven a Peugeot for more than 3 years when I was only a trainee employee who only could pocket out it's fuel bill (literaly no maintenance nor services!!) Again, from my experience of more than 9 years with the same brand, it's a matter of finding right people to maintain and spend right/wisely for maintenance. One fact to mention, bought my newer addition, 406 Executive, in June last year till then i've only done the oil changes and change of a lower arm bush which was needing to be replaced even when I'm buying it. Trust me you don't have to drive to a garage twice a week with a 406 and none of my 406s were ever towed except in case of an accident once.
-
Tight turning circle in a 406 would be the last thing I would look for as they aren't compact city cars. As for maintenance of Peugeots, I would recommend none but Aruna at Throve automobile you can contact him on 777 677 677 or 773 841 315

breathtaking and love that black coated suspension parts. Trust you have done a good paint job, else those will peel off when high pressure under carriage washes are being done. I thought it's better to fix suspension parts after the entire paint work is done, at least the under carriage should be painted off fully before you fix the suspension parts. otherwise the paint work again ruin that black coat of suspension parts.

Will Hybrids Fail Or Succeed In Sri Lanka?

went on couple of times in the E01 and now it's becoming another Galle road. There were many vehicles hogging the road on yesterday and there was this stupid Alto driver decided to stick to the right side lane continously without knowing that lane is only for overtaking. What made me mostly annoyed was people whom are trying to overtake with very minimal speed difference, say that alto. Bugger took forever to overtake and that whole time I was maintaining a steady 100 with cruise control enabled and I didn't have a right lane to move when I encountered a road hogging slow vehicle. You should only overtake if you're travelling significantly higher speed than the one infront of you. If that driver is maintaining the maximum limit, keep a safe distance and drive in the same speed. Continuous monitoring camera's are highly required it seems.

It's not being so difficult to maintain and I'm sure Don didn't mention anything about difficult to maintain. It's about finding the right person/place to carry out maintenance and let me add one thing, that is try not to be penny wise in maintaining these cars. getting 10kmpl is very very optimistic though I've met owners claiming they get 11kmpl. The max I squeezed out of 1.8l manual is 9 kmpl and 8kmpl on a 2.0l auto. But on average don't expect beyond 8kmpl. I saw OP was planning to buy an executive grade D9. Would be lovely car for daily driving with the options it has, however, I doubt whether you would be able to get a good executive for 1.5 mil, may be you should stretch towards 2.0 mil mark to get hold of a good executive. Where's Peri to advise on Gen2?

Great! Google for the fuse box codes

it was a DIY when I had the J44. Replacing both universal joints with a good brand such as GMB would resolve it.
-
It's the universal joints of the drive shaft (local context they call it differential) what cause the sound. Since you have reshaped the leaf springs, the distance between the chassis and the wheel / rear axle got increased. To compensate that change, the angle of universal joints of the propeller shaft changes and that explains why it gets reduced when there's a load.

did you give it some time to switch off? sometimes if the temperature is too high at the point of switching off the engine, ECU and Fan control unit lets fans to run for sometime before switching them off. Usually this is maximum 5 to 10 mins depending on the condition/situation. however, if they ever run, I would start looking from the three relays (assuming this is the double fan model since you said fans) located in the middle of the fan tube. You can access them by removing the grill, there's a small box with a cup secured by two screws. Inside, you can find three green color relays. check the one in the middle to see whether the relay contact points are stuck. if the fans goes off after 5-10 minutes from the ignition switch off time, there's some issue in the cooling system as the cooling may not be efficient. it can be due to temperature probes, bad water fan, air trapped inside the system, etc.

Many happy returns of the day Madz.

i was suspecting either the switch or connection point of the switch to the wire loom. reason is, the relay functioning for flashing and high beam functions is the same. So if it's the relay, then flashing too won't work. Further, the switch has two seperate circuits (contact points and seperate wires) for flashing function and high beam function as two should work in isolation, as in headlights when both parking and low beam is on and flashing in all times. the wires running to the meter board are different from the wires running to the relays. So best is to 1. Double check the contact points of the connector of the light switch 2. Check the wiring from the contact point/switch to the relay board 3. Get hold of another test switch and see whether issue gets sorted out.
-
I too tend to leave the relay away as pass light works fine and it uses the same relay for high beam function and pass light function. It could be either the switch or switch connectors to the main wire loom which can be found under the steering column.

Peugeot 406 Steering Vibration
harshansenadhir replied to dissa1982's question in Mechanical problems
Well, this seems like either a weak pump or air coming into the system randomly causing mini intervals of fluid pressure drop in the system. This could be the reason for the vibration. This oil leak in the head should be fixed. Head is secured using two bolts and there's an o ring prevents fluid coming out. Fix it and see whether the issue sorts out. -
Peugeot 406 Steering Vibration
harshansenadhir replied to dissa1982's question in Mechanical problems
need more information on the issue. How does it vibrates? when you turning from lock to lock at a standstill or while the vehicle is on the move? do you maintain power steering fluid upto the level? further, what did you mean by upper oil seal? in the rack head ? or in power sterring tubing? any chance of uploading a photo? -

Seems there's battery drain in your remote key circuit. Start checking from the small switch which had been replaced. I assume either some preessure is being applied on the switch so it continuously passes electricity or switch itself could be faulty. If you're buying a key, it should be a programable key rather than a programmed key as it can only be programmed once. Best thing is to get the inner circuit checked by a competent electrician.

you got a nice ride there, luxury, affordability in terms of initial investment and running costs. I like this quoted part where it shows the actual reason to own a hybrid in Sri Lankan context and thumbs up for openly admitting that as oppose to the "so called" tree huggers

I'd like to see someone following this guide on a valkswagen beetle or anyother positive grounded vehicle.

D8 or D9? Manual a/c or climate control ? Most of the times the issue of sudden hiccups in blower motor due to loosen main connector which can be found once you remove the black color panel under the dash on passenger side. Usually a yellow/ ash color connector.
