  1. The ground clearance of the 2008 model vitz car I recently bought is too low for my liking. So, I thought of increasing the tyre size. The current tyres are 175/65R14. I googled to check the maximum tyre size that could be fit in to my car but according to the recommendations of many sites the tyre diameter increase should not exceed more than 2.5%. So, the ultimate effect even if I used 185/60/R15 would be negligeable ( Not even one inch). I learnt that the 1.5L vitz RS model has got 195/50R16 tyres. My questions is would it be safe to use 195/50R16 in my vitz 1.0L (F grade) car because it falls outside the 2.5% margin. Thanks in advance..!
  2. Finally, went for the vitz and bought it just few weeks back... , and more importantly, I'm happy about my buy. Thank you fellas for your guide throughout..!
  3. Please share your openion on swift beetle 1300cc jap model against it's toyota counterpart; vitz 1300cc.
  4. Please share your openion on the price quoted in the ad? Is it a reasonable offer?
  5. Just saw this ad on mitsubishi cs3 1.5l manual 2008 model which looks to be in good shape. http://www.autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=133491 I've read in other threads many preferred cs3 over cs2 due to GDI engine issue(http://forum.autolanka.com/topic/15217-lancer-cs2/?hl=%2Blancer+%2Bcs3) but still, cs2 is found to be priced a bit higher than the other. The owner quotes 2.5mil. Appears reasonable but there are hardly any CS3s in autolanka classifieds to compare. Highly appreciate your openion on this offer.
  6. Thanks Sampath..! it was very much helpful.
  7. Please explain the meaning of, U, F, RS and ILL grades with regard to vitz 2007/8 models esp differences like transmission type, other important options
  8. No offense mate.........., but, while N16-17 and Sylphy are not so economical on fuel (as you also seem to admit) how come they have low maintainance cost? If you're to use a car you got to pump fuel regularly, isn't that so? And then the fuel cost will automatically gets included in your "maintenance cost" whether you like it or not.
  9. from your list 121 but, anyway only 1300cc fits for that budget. sylphy would be costlier to maintain. Isn't Honda Fit Aria a economical car compared to N16,17 and sylphy??????????????
  10. Thanks all for your inputs..
  11. May be I'm biased to narrow down to three Toyotas. I personally don't like N16/17 Autos as they are pretty bad on fuel but, I would consider a manual if I come across a well maintained one. About lancer cs1, I must admit that I have very little or no idea .
  12. Your point is taken...but, it's kinda boring feeling to have the same car for so long....would prefer a change after all this long years as, IMO, anyone would.
  13. But, still, that would be quite an old one (late 90s), isn't it? would it be wise to spend 2.6mil on a car which is already 15 years (or, may be more) old? I would rather go for a bit newer one.
  14. Finally I've decided on selling my old carina 192 and to go for an upgrade....My budget is 2.5 - 2.6mil at most. I've narrowed down my choices to following , 1. 2005-2006 corolla 121 1300cc 2. 2006-2007 vitz 1000cc 3. 2003-2004 vios 1.500cc what would be the best option out of above taking the following into consideration, 1. daily use 50-60km in up country 2. acceptable comfortability and fuel efficiency 3. maintainance cost I know people hate 1300cc sedans but, i hope 121 1300cc is not too bad on fuel (would love to have a 1500cc but definitely beyond my reach) Thanks
  15. Thanks buddy, I'll pay a visit most probably this weekend
  16. Any reliable place around Kandy to get the allignment done "manually" ?
  17. It's a comfortable enougth car for that price range, bit low on fuel, still, definitely worth the money spent..
  18. And also, a decent place around Kandy Please......where allignment is done manually. Regards!
  19. Thanks all... Your inputs are very much appreciated. BTW I've done all you mentioned above apart from that "periodic tyre rotation" thing. Each time I got the allignment and wheel balancing done from the same place. There they use a computer software based technique and give a detailed report with a lot of pre and post-allignment values of which i have very little (/or no) knowledge. Would it be wise to go for manual allignment checking?
  20. Thanks a lot for your quick response.... Is this coding system is all about the diffenrence in cylindar capacity? ..I was once told by a mech that, the 4A engines are inferior in performance compared to 5A but, what you have posted would suggest otherwise. (1.6L against 1.5L) Please correct me if I'm wrong.... Regards.!
  21. I'm looking for a good tyre brand in 195/65 R15 for my toyota. my current GT Radial tyres (Malasian I suppose) have done 20000+ kms but are almost worn out. Please help me out with this to find a good brand that suits our road conditions and, of course, that would last longer. Thanks !
  22. I'm having a toyota carina AT192 1995 model. Registration certificate says that it's got a 5A-xxxxxxx engine. what does it mean by this 5A? how does it differs from the 4A engine. Is there a way to check whether your car's engine is 5a or 4a just by inspecting the engine ? Thanks!
  23. Anybody with an idea of the fuel efficiency of freelander (1999 -2002) diesel models ?
  24. Vehicle: Toyota carina AT192 Transmission: Auto Engine: 1.5L Fuel: 90 oct city- 9 kmpl outstation- 12 kmpl
