  1. Thanks vag2, you have a strong point, but I doubt it coz the problem goes off for the rest of the day after the first run. Nevertheless, some collection of moisture evaporating from an exposed wiring connector etc. is a possibility. I figured out a more cost effective troubleshooting step than buying a new battery head on. I.e, I am planning to give an external charge to the battery in an early morning and see the behaviour. Shall feedback ASAP.
  2. Thanks Kavvz, for your explanation and Hyaenidae. All I needed was some reassurance. By the way, whilst travelling outstation, my original YUASA battery suddenly failed one day and I was compelled to buy a battery from the closest battery shop in vicinity. I bought the cheapest battery they had and what my pocket could afford on the spot. This was in 2012. That cheap battery of this unheard of brand continues for it's 8th year and only COVID19 caused it to be given an external charge after all this years. I know it's too good to be true; BTW, the brand name is EPIC. Shall buy the well deserved new battery and revert if it solves the problem. Thanks once again!!
  3. Hyaenidae, I shall definitely try that option before long. But, may I know why do you suggest so? I do have a strong feeling that you could be spot on!
  4. Thanks for your quick response, Gyan, but I have no 3rd party additions at all. Even the Audio player is what has been factory fitted.
  5. My car has the following problems early morning, in cold climates like Nuwara Eliya and in full-time rainy days. 1. Fuel meter reads empty. 2. Central lock and boot lock does not respond to the remote key. 3. Central lock button on the main door panel does not work either. 4. Head lights auto-on feature is not working. All these come right when driven in hot weather about 10Km. If the car is first started in noon or afternoon (meaning, hot weather), no problem whatsoever. Would be grateful if someone has any experience or thoughts on this. Thank you !! Vijitha
  6. It is your label 1. Sorry, my year old memory has not served me right. Looks like it has not one but 2 screws. I have attached two photos for re-confirmation. Suggest you remove the wire harness first and monitor for a few days to see whether the sound goes off. Good luck this time !!!
  7. Yes, I did. I am not sure whether it is one and the same problem you have. In my case, the noise came from the motorized fresh/ recycled air channel selector unit. It is located a few inches above the park-break paddle, flush mounted with only one Phillips screw; not anywhere near one would perceive the sound to come from. Removing the DB or any paneling is absolutely uncalled for. It is More or less a DIY job, and cost me only about Rs. 2000 for a re-con unit, an year ago.
  8. No, Osanda 19, just the original car as it is. Even the audio player is what was factory-fitted.
  9. Firstly; my apologies for not responding to all the replies I am thankful for, as I was away for a while without internet access. Well, it looks like we have to rule out the A/C since this sound is independent from same i.e. you get it when the A/C is completely knocked off, including the blower. This is of course unless what Davy suggests happens (the fresh/ recirculate air flap tries to get in to position) independent from the A/C.
  10. Dear All, I am using a Toyota Allion 240 (2004) for the past couple of years. About three years back, an occasional rattling noise was heard under the dashboard, somewhere below the meter cluster. It was not that intriguing so was not attended to. Especially for the fear that the garage fellows would obviously want to remove the whole front panel along with the centre console etc. and the fastening clips etc. would create more noise once reinstalled. But now, there is a severe grinding noise that comes from somewhere from the centre, behind the AC control panel. This sound is very mush like a relay snapping ON/OFF rapidly and comes occasionally, mostly in the mornings. Is there anyone with the same experience? if so, what action was taken? Many thanks for any kind advice please, ViKARLL
  11. Great job and vivid exolanation too !! Many thanks for sharing........
