  1. Priyanka where can you get the bell housing fabricated here. And will the engine mount without any hassle. I have seen many 4m40 conversion but all of them have used the existing gearbox. Sorry for the trouble.
  2. Yes from what I have seen the original 4m40 diesel montero is electronic diesel pump and the the japan domestic models are manual diesel pumps.hence the montero diesel 4m40 is smoother engine . It's basically same as the 4m41 but in this case it's a 2.8L manual. Does anyone know if the 4m40 engine will mount without any modifications. Also how do you connect the exsisiting gear box on to the 4m40 engine.

  6. Hi .I need some help.i called the rmv but dint get a proper answer. I recently purchased a toyota single cab registered with" L " number plate under motor lorry.now I want to convert this to a dual purpose.i kw in the past the rmv was doing this for a charge of arouns Rs.40000/=but since of late it has changed and i would like to know any members in this form have had recently done this and have any idea how much would this cost. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Hi their, You can buy a completed original diesel kit for the montero . its the 4m41 3.2 DID kit.this comes with the engine and gear box , computer boxes , wire harness ,silencer kit,cluster meter,diesel tank , basically a entire montero with out the body and will cost u around 1.2million. Hope this helps .i have seen a few done and its good as original bec its just a plug in original kit and has no difference from a original montero.i have seen one on the AL classifieds for sale in this site.

  11. Hi ! It's actually a very simple thing! Near ur rear (decky) boot door u get two pressure releasing vents! When these vents get covered or stuck ur vehicle air inside has no place to go! That the reason when u leave ur shutter or front door open the rear door closes easily.u will need to find those vents located near the rear boot door ! It's normally located on the inside on the top of the rear boot door.check and see if the flap has got stuck or covered.u will need to take the side pannel of the rear to reach this ! So i advise u to get help of a person who has experience a bit.hope this helps.

The legal RMV charge is Rs.38000/= for registration . just keep Rs.55000/= for everything bec you have to make the guys inside happy lol better you get hold of a person in the RMV other wise you will waste a lot of time and get rastiyadu fied. according to the new system they will print diesel converted on your book and issue new number plates with the letter D printed under the plate. for older vehicles with 301 series numbers just the mention on the book and that about it. If you like to confirm just call Over the Rmv they will guide you. the documents needed are:- 1.Original book 2.original v.i.c 3.identity card copy of registered owner. 4.original license 5.original insurance 6.02x colour photographs 7.all luxury tax receipts Remember if you have a lease on yor vehicle you have to get written permission form the leasing company but am not sure if it would be allowed and am not too sure about it.
  13. jdnet, i think the engine price is reasonable being toyota engines high demand specially as many noah petrol vehicle owners convert their vans with this engine to diesel. I will have to tell you the gear box is always best to go with that engine gear box. May be ur mechanic has more knowlege on this matter than me but as harshan senadhir stated before was correct. bec diesel and petrol engines gear boxes have different ratios .see only in the noha and dolphin van to my knowledge so far where the gear box is identical in in both petrol and diesel variants, or in some cases where the manufacture has made the same model of vehicle in both variants. My advice for u is go with the Toyota 3c gear box and u couple the 4wd unit(trasfercase) of the tribute to this. i did that with my montero sport due to the pajero gear box not having the 4wd super select system and it worked fine. Am not a expert on this i am just giving my opinion your mechanic knows his job but just asking him want create a issue. all the best and let us know when you complete your jeep.

To watchmen, yes i could have used the same tank as their is no difference in shape or capacity but the reason being on the petrol tank u get the petrol pump and 2 other pressure release valves that connect to a black box(i cannot remember the technical name so please excuse) near the engine.ya with a little but modification i could have used the same tank but since i received the tank with the kit why just waste that extra time, that was about it. you asked me the cost of the kit without the labour of installation it cost me 1.2mil . yes i could have brought a cheaper diesel vehicle putting the difference but still when u compare the price of original diesel montero this cost me about 3million cheaper adding the cost my GDI pajero. for some it may sound stupid but for me it was worth it.
  16. i have currently a pajero 2001 GDI i recently swapped with 3.2did (4m41) and currently running the vehicle with no issues. yes its a straight forward conversion but the wiring is a killer. i did it with my mechanic at my residence it took 2weeks . about 4 days to put the engine and gear box and the rest to lay the wiring. when u buy the full complete kit u get complete from the full wire harness, two shafts , computer box radiator, fuel tank, silencer kit, meter board , everything basically of a pajero diesel other than the body ,and its just to fix it up and this is one of the easiest conversions to do for a person who has a basic wiring knowledge more than mechanical. i have currently run over 10000km on it and i have no problem with the vehicle. only problem u will notice is u might find the engine a bit too loud and its normal for 4m41 bec of its D.I.D and has a timing chain.power is great producing around 165bhp and plenty of torque and fun to drive.

Today diesel conversions are very common. i think the 3c engine are used in most of the mazda tribute jeeps converted. i have seen a few done and they seem to be good.one was advertised recentlly at wasa@n#a car sales .according to the person their the engine mountings are suppose to be a bolt on. its always better to change the gear box and and the rear diff also! other wise ur gear changing will have a effect . hope this helps. i had converted a montero sport and ran it for 2years with out any issues. the main thing is how the engine and gear box mounts to the vehicle to avoid vibrations .always try to mount the engine to ur original brackets on the chassis without cuing and welding new brackets.

  20. macho can u PM me da place i can buy a jerry can with a holder for 15k. coz i found a one for 50.000 :violent-smiley-099: :violent-smiley- hey bro i was only taking about the jerrycan i had seen this one in a shop at delkanda sometime ago. the holder alone will cost you over 20k and this person called sean from t.j.m does it.he is at malabe. and his work is really good. i saw his number posted on this tread just give him a call. and knowing him he might fabricate you a jerrycan for reasonable price?
  21. those are Taiwan 2ton winches. but will burn if u pull a heavy load and they are not dependable. if just want it for the look and not much harsh use u can consider it but not for any hard work.
  22. where is the ATF filter located in G-10 engine ( engine is very similar to N-16) ? It's generally located on the gear box on most vehicles.
  23. check your A.T.F filter it may be blocked.Also check A.T.F oil level if its over or below the recommended level.Also check sensor near the gearbox if the above two options fail. some times you get the vibration due to worn out gear box mounts.its advisable if you check that out too,

The prices below are about a year back when i checked new prices may be cheaper or more depending on stocks at the merchant. 1.snockel:- a locally fabricated one from Sean or A.R#.B# should be around 15-20k.a original branded one will be over 40k 2.high lift jack should cost u around Rs.6000/= 3.rare fuel can with holder:- This am not sure but a Jerrycan alone will cost over Rs.15000 brand new. available at MOt#or C.d.e 4.electric winch:- original warn winch will cost around Rs.150000-Rs.200000/= 4.manual winch Not sure 5.cool box(actually i don't know the name of that item.i mean that box which is fixed in between front seats) about Rs.20000/=
