actually I bought the car from first owner. Previous owner is an engineer. But I don't know how he use the car and all. Anyway I have noticed a welding mark on the AT oil pan at the bottom. today morning I went to the garage I haven't noticed any slipping. I wanted to scan the car but couldn't get it done as their scanner not supported. before changing the oil i drove bit and noticed that slipping is there. So i changed the oil through the drain plug. Not by the machine. Then i drove again and i noticed the same slipping action. I have attached a photo of oil pan for the reference.

hi all, today I drove car about 8km from home to a wedding. Once I started to go home after the function I feel the gears are not engaging as expected. (it's a Suzuki swift 2003. 80k milage.) engine rpm goes high but the speed is very low. If I press hard it will engage. So I am worried what happened suddenly. I came in the morning no issue. Of course the car stayed in very hot sunlight. (??!!?) for about 4 hours. I have noticed the engine light on for few times and OD light blinking few times while I'm coming home. I stopped by a mechanic and asked him to see. He said the box is slipping. Can't fix and better replacing the gearbox.. What should I do ? I can say fluid level is ok and fluid looks good reddish. I didn't change the oil as the previous owner said I can go about 20k before next change. Give me some good news because I'm bit confused at the moment ? thanks .

i'm not sure about that? But As I mentioned Dhammika did the tuneup job. He checked all relevant readings for the engine sensors and all. Hopefully he did that too.

vib is comming in netutral too (bit lower than in D) idling after few seconds shifting from D to N. Anyway how to check the mounts good or bad in a proper way. not just looking at them?

hi I checked his tune up data sheet. There he mentioned that the plug gap is 1.1 mm. So no need to worry about that. Maybe the plug is leaking as u said. Can I use a tape to fix the issue temporally. Is it ok?. Coming back to the vib, I should mention that the vib is more noticeable when accelerating from zero velocity. Vib is spreading over the dashboard at that time. Is this a symptom of bad mounts..?? Thanks.

I performed the engine tune up and mechanic (Dhammika) says the throttle body sensor readings are ok. no need to clean. vibration is same in cold and engine working temp. During the tuneup he only cleaned the spark plug and adjust the gap. he asked me to put a injector cleaner to the petrol tank. humming sound come from the front of the car. it's not from the wheel bearings. it's comming only when accelerating. I might need to double check the mounts with a proper place I think...

what is the correct spark plug gap for suzuki swift 1.3 M13A engine?

hi, I went to Dammika Fernando's place to do a tuneup. He first scanned and tell me throttle body sensor readings are fine and no need to clean. He did only remove plugs and clean them and reassembled. He asked me to double check the engine mounts.he said one mount is podak behalaa. He asked me to lossen all mounts and check with a mechanic so then it can be clearly identified whether the mounts are good or bad. but I got a another prob when I came home. Now when I accelerating the car is mis firing. It is hard to accelerate really. Car pulling power is not continues. (kadi kadi adinne). This is not happened before tune up anyway. Is that a prob of plug coils or plugs?? Normal acceleration is normal. Only hard acceleration is look messy. When like taking over another vehicle.

hi I changed the thermo switch (temp sensor). I drove up hill. Looks fine gauge is steady bit below the middle mark. ?? thanks everyone for giving me valuable comments on this. I'll update other thread regarding the vibration on drive with brake. ?

I met an auto electrical guy and check the fan. Fan is working in both speeds. then I checked the fan starting temp without ac. It's 98celcius (coolant temp). At that point the heat gauge is above the middle. is that fan starting temp is correct ? (thermostat temp rating was 82 celcius) what should I do as per the above readings.

Thank you for the elaboration. first thing I'll bleed the cooling system and i'll checked the fan operation in two speeds. Then I determine whether to clean the radiator or not? themostat should be fine as I replaced as per the OEM part no.

I never bleed the cooling system. no coolant leak I asked the mechanic and he mentioned that do not need to bleed !!?? could you explain bit more the words "bleed the cooling system while heater on"

fan is starting at the mid point of temp indicator (with out AC) if AC is on fan is always on. fan blades are also original. what other causes make this anyway??

Hi guys, I changed the thermostat and drove around but I see once the indicator going 3/4 of the gauge only when driving up a steep road. I see the root cause is not yet fixed here. would anybody help to conclude the root issue here ? thanks

anybody Please give me some reliable place to do the engine tune up to fix this issue will be highly appreciated. I can reach Colombo area easily.

yes. exactly the rpm going above 1000rpm mark and getting about 700-800rpm in cold start. could you suggest a good and reliable place to do an engine tuneup to a reasonable cost. (i'm live in Avissawella.)

Thanks for the comment. the vibration is coming with AC & AC off without a clear difference. vibration is similar in cold start and the engine running temp as well. Humming sound - I don't think it's the wheel bearings. even at high speeds only when the accelerator pedal pressed this sound comes (somewhat like a heavy vehicle engine) once the accelerator pedal is free there is no sound.

Hello all, I need to clarify that my suzuki swift 2003 car has a excessive vibration on D with brake applied. in N and P modes there is no (negligible) vibration. In R also the vibration is not mush it should be normal to my thinking. gearbox oil is in good condition. I suspected the engine mounts and checked all are good according to the mechanic. Then he asked to do a throttle body cleaning along with a engine tuneup. please give me some advises to fix this issue. there is no vibration while accelerating (moving). By the way there is a humming sound which is coming when only accelerating ?? give me some directions to sort out this too thank you...!

hi guys, I have check the fan. fan is turned on when the heat mark close to the middle. (without AC) fan blades are also very close to the fan frame. fan wires can not be exchanged since the fan socket is made to fit it in the right way. Anyway I have changed the thermostat and I will update whether it is fixed or not? thanks
