  1. So I believe the specimen in discussion should fetch a price far below than 4.7M. But fiat fan I think it’s practically impossible to haggle to get the price down to 3.6M (even this being a GL trim) considering the current situation of the used vehicle market in Sri Lanka. So what do you guys reckon the reasonable price for this specimen considering the fact that this is a GL trim with paddle shift, single multifunction and leather seats and the fact that there’s no cruise control, sunroof and it having a mileage of 173k km?
  2. Thanks heaps for the info guys. Bizarre enough it has a single multifunction steering wheel as opposed to having dual multifunction. I always thought loaded ones had dual multifunction. And dee jay it has company fitted leather seats not alcantara seats and there’s no trunk spoiler as well. In addition it has winker mirrors. My bad iRage. I’ll be careful next time. Fiat fan, so what you are suggesting is that being a 2011 model that has been imported through Stafford this isn’t fully loaded.
  3. Highly informative dee jay. So the extra stuff offered in type s are mainly cosmetic except for the tinted rear windows? and this one doesn’t seem to boast a trunk spoiler, does it? And it comes with factory fitted leather seats.
  4. Hi guys. Yet again with questions regarding civic fd1 😁. I recently stumbled upon a 2011 civic fd1. It does not have a sunroof or cruise control but has paddle shift and winker mirrors. I was told by the owner that 2011 civic fd1s do not have cruise control and sunroofs and there was no type s variant in 2011 fd1s unlike in previous year models. I want to know whether this is the case or whether I’m being taken for a ride. I was quoted a price of 4.7M. I want to know whether this is a reasonable price taking into consideration its mileage which is 174k km. If not what would be the reasonable price of such a car.
  5. What issues are expected to occur(if there are any) when buying a 2006 fd1 that has done 200k km? The vehicle in discussion is regularly maintained throughout at Stafford.
  6. Hi guys. It’s me yet again. 😁 I had my mind set on the civic fd1 as y’all knew. But recently I became more skeptical of owning one due its low ground clearance. FYI my house is in Kandy and it’s located in a hilly area. With this in mind I searched in AL for a car with good ground clearance, comfort and ease of maintenance. I stumbled upon Nissan Juke 2012 and did quick hunting for adverts. There were only 2 specimens available. One which has clocked almost 65k km and another almost 100k km. Both had a price tag of 4.5M. I know it’s either love it or hate it thing when it comes to looks. But in my case I love how it looks. 😅 I came across only one thread on juke 2012. https://forums.autolanka.com/topic/16128-nissan-juke/ strange enough it ticks all the boxes for me (pros and cons of the juke mentioned by Pericles) I need to know about the ease of of maintenance of a 2012 juke and the current market price of a 2012 juke. Apparently there are two variants, 1.6l one with leather seats and whatnot and 1.5l one. How do the two variants compare to each other? Also any alternative suggestions are welcome (within that price bracket of course 😁).
  7. Sorry took me a while to log into AL. Thanks for the info guys. After going through all your opinions I have set my mind on owning a civic fd1. Yes the one I was talking about is a full option one brought down through Stafford. But now the owner is having second thoughts on selling it. Advertisements do not come up easily and the ones that do however have done more than 150k km. Strange enough this 2010 made (as well as registered) grey import which has done 176k km has a KI number. In contrast 2008 made ones are having KJ numbers. Any thoughts on that? And for the emgrand and the ciaz I would have to do more research.
  8. I’m grateful for your input chaps.😇 I was almost lured into buying a lancer ex after your input Hyaenidae. 😁 But I’m not a petrolhead and most on sale are either modified or not within the price bracket I can afford. And HaeyIM most, if not all Axio Gs carry a price tag of 4.7-5M. I couldn’t find any advert offering it for the prices you mentioned. I value comfort above everything else and I take a fancy to the comfort offered by civic fd1 as pointed out by HaeyIM. I found a 2008 made civic fd1 brought through stafford which has clocked almost 100k km for 4.2M. Is that a reasonable asking price? Even if I bought a civic fd1, the problem is maintaining one in Kandy. Any thoughts on that?
  9. Well, I’m currently residing in Kandy. I googled and found out that Kundasale auto services is the dealer for stafford in central province. How is the maintenance at an authorized dealer compared to that of an agent taking cost as well as the outcome into consideration?
  10. Thank you for the support guys. What would be the reasonable price range for a well maintained, 2008 made fd1 that has done almost 100k km? And Hyaenidae, thank you for the the suggested thread. What do you mean by no islandwide authorized agent coverage for fd1? Is it because the Stafford is based mainly in Colombo?
  11. Oops...... my bad. I thought 141 does better on fuel given the manufacturer’s reputation. How silly of me! So the sylphy is out of the equation. What about the ease of maintenance of civic fd1, Corolla 141 and lancer ex?
  12. I’m not a racer of any sort 😅 Civic fd1 fits the bill it seems. How bad does the civic fare with 141 when it comes to fuel consumption. And what about the bluebird sylphy?
  13. I have this thing against toyotas, you know, them being ubiquitous. But I might give it a second thought though. Are lancer ex’s on par with Corolla 141s and civic fd1s in terms of comfort? I’ve seen quite a few threads (including the popular brat thread) recommending lancer ex.
  14. Hi guys, This is my first post here in AL though I have gone through quite a few threads for the past 10 -12 months. I’m in the hunt for my first vehicle. I might be able to stretch my budget by 3-4 lakhs. My priorities are comfort, handling, reliability and maintenance cost. Resale value and fuel consumption aren’t of much concern. I have narrowed down my list to Honda Civic fd1, Mazda 3/axela, Nissan bluebird sylphy (but alternative suggestions are welcome) Can you enlighten me on the aspects each of the above excels surpassing others. Name an overall pick as well. Thanks in advance.
