  1. its a very good car. Part are available and some are common for Korean version. Gets around 15k/l city.
  2. Sort of a update <bump>.. Since some were asking about tires from china ..here is the update LingLong 31x10.5 ..16250/- Perer@ tires malabe Triangle 31x10.5 ..19250/- Tr@desmann Traders will give 30000km warranty for them and swears that they do 50+ but i am bit skeptical..info on net seems to suggest otherwise USA tires Cooper AT3/HT 31x10.5 19-22000/- Pirelli Tires are now available at Toyoy@ Lanka
  3. my 2 cents..if u r doing regular drives on ruf trails perhaps harder would be better for the reasons u mention..so in that way off road suspension = 'harder' i switched to 'harder' when i used monoshoks (kyb) in my d.cab..and it seems to improve offroading
  4. Tikiri listed out most but to add a bit.. 1. if u want decent offroading having a solid axle would be better than the ifs 2. u abso'ly need good mt tires for a hilux to make it a decnet offroader ..having a/t in a hilux may not be enf in some mud .. but having m/t for daily is a hassle may i ask why a surf and not a d'cab?
  5. i see , how about the tire sizes and bettery..what r they and do they change for model
  6. how did i miss this tread..anyways to get this back on topic.. what are the diffrences in YOM.. lets say 2007 'S' class has same spec as 2004 'S'?
  7. thanks...yeah i have seen them threads but they always compare vios and does not discuss the specifics..like what are the diff between the models and what are the best grades and common problems etc.
  8. what are the things we NEED Know before buying? YOM specific stuff and Classes seems to be all a big mess..some one plz share ur knowledge
  9. so AA is the only option? just wondering if there are any AAC members in AL?
  10. Thank you for the fast reply, yes those would be options but their coverage seems to be somewhat lacking ( to put it mildly ) from ur exp..

  12. i too goes to "LAUGFS at Koswata (between Battaramulla and Malabe)" for my diesel ...same story..49-50 L become 55+ in other places ..like the palawatte IOX
  13. used or new? how about places in delkanda,,btw if you are looking for gauges plese look if the oil sender etc are working...otherwise u will end up with new non working gauges

  16. call me a pessimist but lests say its the worst case... where could one get an engine replcement ? also i did some reserch and seems toyota 3L can be replaced by 5L (which i belive has more hp?)... can anyone with better tech knowhow verify this
  17. cheers to the chief bottle opener that is as detailed replay as i hoped! and to MkX as well few weeks back during a long drive my engine overheated.. since i noticed some black stuff i did diy cleaning of the radiator.. there i noticed some bubbles but thought it was from a leak so took it to r@house to fix it. when it was fixed the bubbles were bit more frequent and the when i asked why they told it is probably from a busted gasket...thats the full history.. Mkx: there is no visible water leaks anyway i am glad it will not be as drastic as some guys have suggested
  18. I think the my hilux107 has blow its gaskets, there is lot of bubbles coming out from the radiator now, so 3 questions, 1. is replacing gaskets a big job 2. will there be a problem to engine if run is as it is for a short time 3. will there be a need to rebuild the engine if the damage is big..what would be the cost ..if any of u had to do it..let me know..or will a re-con engine cost less?
  19. mine is a 107 , well i will look into what u have suggested. thanks!

  22. just wanted to say thanks for having this great artical. helped me a lot. i had been using water..not coolant...for my jeep and i recently had the engine running hot. when i had a look the water was all thick and rusty..learned my lesson..so today i would be doing a flush with some good old detergent and fill the radiator with coolant original post: http://www.autolanka.com/Article_read.asp?article_id=94

  25. yeah thats why i think AT would be good, but its hard to find a decent 31 15r tire..i wanted the wrangler but seems they are out..and others are bit beyond the budget...show me a good tire for 12k and i would be sold
