Toyota homes
In Japan Toyota produces homes using the same methods it uses to produce cars. They built 4,600 houses last year, and plan on buliding 7000 homes a year by 2010.
I've often wondered if these Japanese car companies would ever venture into house building, and it looks like Toyota already has. Even though they say they have no plans on building houses overseas, do you think it might ever happen here? Would you consider a Toyota Home or a Honda Home if they started building them here?
Snippet: A "smart key," similar to the car key you don't need to take out of your pocket to unlock your Toyota, opens and closes the front door. A mechanism for reducing engine noise and tremors is installed under the floor to quiet upstairs shakes. Toyota -- the world's second biggest automaker -- has no plans to expand its housing business overseas.
Hmmm... I wonder if they have power windows and door locks?
