  2. Pretty late to the party and I assume by this time @Sihath Dasanayake has already got the car of his choice. Never had a Copen but did have a Legacy. Tappet cover oil leak (which is common and easily fixed), Turbos and shocks were the main issues I had during ownership. It should be mentioned there was enough parts available through locally back then and the occasional hard to find something was sourced easily through "Yahoo Jap Auction" Only regret was letting it go and if I had a way, I would have shipped that car back here with me. Sleeper when you want it to with a nice punch when the secondary turbo kicks in πŸ˜‰
  3. I feel like this is mostly due to poor maintenance or high mileage. Transmission fluid, in addition to acting as a coolant, keeps internal seals lubricated to help prevent hardening or wearing out. Is the fluid level up to specifications or low?
  4. Explains why they look so athletic 🀭 I guess somewhere in the wilderness there is a Wakanda looking city where vehicles are inaccessible where the journey is long... I do hope they take us there one day... wait maybe there children might.. Advanced satellites and allπŸ˜‰
  5. Ohh you know the highly educated and skilled run the country so bound to have a very logical answer to that... I would love to see how they will survive if they were to get vehicles like that🀣
  6. With regards to the price, don't get me started even😬 The price gap between cars here and in SL is mind numbing. I sold my 2009 Legacy for LKR 3.2mil in 2018 and once I came here got a 2013 Honda Accord VTi-L. At that time it was LKR 2.5mil when I converted it to Rupees and out of curiosity checked the "Quick"site for a similar car and found one which was priced at LKR 7.4mil πŸ™„ (Yes, it was not the same exact year and the trim but Damn..!!!)
  7. True, There are some nice STI versions and conversions here but the price was almost the same as a new Forester so had no option there... Hoping at some point to get the STI bits down (Not much STI parts for the SK9 model to be honest). Just testing how the Customs work here before I get the big stuff πŸ˜… Don't get me wrong the 2020 is pretty good and I don't get why reviewer say that its bit loud and not as peppy as the previous gens. But if you just cruise along a quiet road you can't here it at all. If you do floor it, you won't here the flat4 sound and you need to switch it to sports (sharpens the response here) rather than keeping it on Intelligent (for fuel economy). EyeSight tech is pretty much perfect, so safety wise its a great family car
  8. Personally owned a 1999 Legacy B4 and currently using a 2020 Forester. Like iRage mentioned above its two different models. Legacy - Never had an issue sourcing parts although so many did say its hard. There are individuals who bring parts for Subaru's alone and I also got down certain parts through Yahoo Japan Auction (I did a lot of thatπŸ˜‰) but you can stick to one who sources parts and bring it to you. Maintenance was done through Senok and didn't have any bad experience with those guys at all. Loved the Legacy and would have never parted with it but sadly had to. Its a very good cruiser but you can always get it up a notch (If you hit both turbos you can literally watch the fuel drop). Its more like a civilized gentleman wearing a suit but with Nike shoes 🀭. Its planted around the bends, maybe a little stiff with those Blitzen shocks but its a perfect ride. The hardest thing would be is to get hold of a decent car. Forester - Haven't had the pleasure of getting and driving one of these models you have mentioned above but obviously you will get the ground clearance and the AWD system of the Forester will do just fine on the rough stuff as well. Again getting a well cared for vehicle would be the hard part. Good luck
  9. It is sad to see that a life was lost due to something very unnecessary... I have gone a bit out of my depth when I skidded our LN107 on the gravel road when the Horana Rathnapura road was being built and also skidded in between a truck and a parked bus when it was raining. Not the highlight of my life but someone was looking out for me at that time and came out in both instances without a scratch to anyone or the cab (Dad would have murdered me if he got to know πŸ˜…) All I want to say is know your limits and don't try and be a race car driver. Go for some GoKart racing if you have the urge to drive fast at least that's relatively safe. I have spun around, skidded, drifted and even took part in one of those race events. Do that if you want to or take your car to a track and do what you want. This is just a waste of life and a waste of a decent car
  10. Wait this was the original condition it was in???? Damn should have kept it as it was honestly
  11. Not sure, should ask and see 😁 I very much want to
  12. I saw one in a showroom and another white one on the road... pretty nice. I should drop by that showroom and have a look πŸ˜‰
  13. They do make a rant about changing the color but anyone can do a wrap, odd law we have🀨
  14. Your car seems to be a new one even though its been 2yrs but as mentioned above the battery might be the main issue. Why not take the car to the agent or a competent mechanic if the battery check turns out to be okay?
  15. Yes, it might be hard at the moment to get stuff into SL with the post and custom proceedings but once hopefully everything blows over you can start emptying your wallet ? till then be calm and carry on. So to explain this a bit further. I use Chrome as it translates Jap to Eng so I know what the heck I am looking at. lets take the following example https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/g459953821 as something I want to bring from Japan. Then I go to this site https://www.fromjapan.co.jp/en/ (Create an account here) on the search bar (FromJapan site), copy and paste the heading (YahooJapanAuction site) which is coloured in grey. (You need to copy the Japanese wording and not the one that is translated to English). Once you do this you will get the below result. https://www.fromjapan.co.jp/en/item/search/ζ—₯η”£γ€€γƒ†γ‚£γ‚’γƒŠγ€€TNJ32γ€€J32%2FPJ32γ€€η΄”ζ£γ€€γ‚ͺーディγ‚ͺγƒ‘γƒγƒ«γ€€γ‚¨γ‚’γ‚³γƒ³εΉγε‡Ίγ—ε£γ€€ζ“δ½œγ‚Ήγ‚€γƒƒγƒγ€€γƒγ‚ΆγƒΌγƒ‰δ»˜/Al_11_Yh_RaZoSuBpOmRm_N_N_0A00ja00_N/lgk-link_search?view_type=detail For some items you can bid or purchase it without the need to bid for it. It might sound like a long process but once you get an idea, its actually easy.
