What is jack-ass about saying that Axio is faster accelerating than Mazda3 based on personal driving experience?
-
Why do you write like a girl? It's cute when you say... hoo hooo... I can imagine a ponsy looser hiding behind that sorry keyboard insulting members without having any worthwhile automobile experience of it's own. Let's hope your best days are to come, because by your own account your old enough and haven't accomplished anything worthwhile yet. FYI my driving experiences expand to Chevy Corvette too and I bloody even owned B4 and driven STis too, but that doesn't stop me from saying what I know about an Econo car. It is interesting to see no one has challenged my claim about Axio being the faster accelerating car over Mazda3, yet. Where is that "other member" on whom you were sorrily relying on to prove me wrong???
-
Do you at least have a driving license? I have seen you insulting lot of newbies but I can't recall many based on your own experience driving cars.
-
@watchman: I have never reported your posts and will not report this latest post too, coz I know it's useless. If you know me as you claim then you should know really well that I live a perfect family life. For you to drag a loved one based on a completely false claim into this discussion shows that, 1) You're very frustrated with your own inability to achieve anything fruitful in life. 2) You have no respect for family life. 3) You're so desperate to say something against me even while loosing your integrity and basic decency. Facts is this looser: I have driven Mazda3 and Axio both and I know M3 doesn't accelerate as fast. I know you don't own any cars but have you at least driven these 2 cars to insult what I said?
-
@Watchman: why don't you beg for a Mazda3 of one of your friends and try to prove me wrong instead? BDW looser how old are you anyway?
-
Mazda3/Axela handles sweet but the 1.5/1.6L variants are too sluggish (poor acceleration). Couple of my friends who previously had ES Civics upgraded Mazda3 with high hopes and then soon got rid of them because of poor acceleration. I am quite sure Mazda3 is even slower than Axio in terms of acceleration.

Tesla Motors - Cars That Will Change The World
isurujosh replied to Californikan's topic in General Automotive
Elon Musk is such a great entrepreneur. The Billionaire whom I respect most. He is lot richer than those other notorious billionaires in terms of positive contributions for humanity. I wish him all the best in this Tesla adventure too. -
You're probably right that best deals are heard over word of mouth. I followed cars in Hitad and autolanka and I did not see Allion G grades with original auction certificates and full service history + mileage well below 50k changing hands for less than 4.5.
-
I don't think you could get an Allion/Premio for less than 4.5 now (unless vehicle is in bad shape/high mileage). Are you speaking out of specific knowledge of vehicles that changed hands during past month? But you're right about 7 million+ not being a worthwhile price to pay for new Allion/Premio. But some people just doesn't want to run the risk with millions of Rs for a permit vehicle. I personally would not have bought the Allion if I could get a decent BMW E90 for my budget. Now I am waiting for the Permit E90s to hit the market once they become transferable. Until then Allion is a good stop/gap car.
-
That's what they said about EFI and autoboxes too. Non-meterialised! You just change the CVT oil duly and you got trouble-free running.
-
Yes I agree 407 is a very good car in terms of Handling and Comfort. As long as one doesn't get astound by loosing lot of $$$ on petrol and depreciation, it's fine car indeed.
-
In case you're referring to Peugeot 407 here, this same friend of yours may get even more astound by seeing the depreciation rates of 407. I really felt sorry for all those 407 owners who call back and plead to part with their 407's for 2.x million prices. Isn't millions of rupees lost on depreciation too much a price for a few bells and whistles?

I have been using 2008 Allion ZRT260 (A18) for some time now and following are the pros and cons as I see. Pros: Fuel economy: 9kmpl+ in city traffic, 18kmpl+ outstation driving moderately(mostly 80-100kmph), 13kmpl+ outstation driving fast (mostly 100-140kph). For a family man like me who now have to travel across the country with family, 18kmpl saves considerable amount of money. VVTi+CVT combo really works pretty well here to achieve low down power/torque that the naturally aspirated petrol competition can hardly reach (e.g. 70-80kmph with just 1100rpm+ in a flat surface). What does this mean for you? Very good fuel economy + effortless driving under civilized use. Durability: Between my self and my extended family we have pretty much used all Japanese brands over the years and Toyota has a definite advantage in durability. Second Hand Market: I am just stating the obvious here. Straight Line Speed as an Economy Family Car: I think A18 is just as fast as the much beloved Civic FD1(automatic) in a straight line. May be even faster to 100kph than automatic FD1. Interior quality: quite decent compared to competition. Features: quite decent compared to especially Japanese competition. Comfort: quite decent compared to competition as long as you drive in a civilized manner. Cons: Handling: This car is not meant to be driven too hard, too often. Comfort under Rough driving: drive this car too roughly and this cars suddenly becomes quite uncomfortable.

That Phenomenon is called Ejaculation in English language. It is the ultimate moment of satisfaction to the citizens who travel in these buses who voted/vote/will vote for this government in droves. Don't you worry about them, they are all very happy
-
You can't really blame the government for this. Last time they pumped bad petrol they got 70% of the vote. So I guess the government is trying to see what is the effect with bad diesel this time. Who knows, it may be even better this time.

I think you will be just fine as long as you don't choose a Kyron (auto or not). Kyron = brittle SUV with an incompetent agent determined to rip you off.

@ramithad: The question that many fair-minded regular motorists in Sri Lanka have is not whether 3rd generation Prius is a good car but wether it's the right time to buy one in Sri Lanka yet due to availability and prices of parts and reasonably priced labor. @Don: I don't think that the sensor that turns on master front light automatically is an integral part of the bulb. Our previous Cefiro had this feature too and I remember replacing only the bulb seperately for pennies. Furthermore if that is indeed the sensor that has gone busted in this instance then I suppose the cost free work-around is to move the master light switch away from auto mode to manual.
-
I called Toyota Lanka too for an opinion and they too strongly discouraged the move. These reputed service stations really loose their credibility with such stupid recommendations!
-
Now this is one really good reason why one should not buy a Prius(or any other Hybrid) at this pint of time in Sri Lanka. You may never know what not part has a sensor in it. In another horror story of a Hybrid I heard, a certain AC related sensor replacement had costed 300,000 for diagnosis, part and labor in a Honda Insight. Furthermore insurance premiums are also higher due to very high cost of inverter damage replacement during a front collission. This is why I did not end up buying a Prius 3rd generation.
-
I went to KleenPark for the service for the first time and boy didn't they try hard to convince me to do a flush on my car's 26,000kms old engine!!! I explained that Nissan Cefiro we had previously had done 180,000+km with no single engine flush and was still returning near peak fuel efficiency and performance and they didn't try to approach me afterwards.

They say Pasta has now got a loyalty card with the stewards
-
That's it??? Thousands of pora talks posts in an automotive site, mostly insulting newbies and other innocent fellow car owners and you don't even have a bicycle!!! :sigh go get a life Dumb-Ass
-
Yes you ought to get a bicycle to really save the environment and issue thousands of crap talks about cars!
-
Are you on weed? Magnum is the one who brought a van into the discussion. I was saying all along that Prius is no slower than most 1.5L-1.6L "CARS" that ordinary Sri Lankans drive. Failing to understand this simple fact is, Sir, your retarded problem!
