  1. Is it a squeeky noise ? and does it go off after some ?, I have this same problem. I have reason to believe that this could be the actual Shock Absorbers themselves. These cars have been sitting in the rain and sun for quite some time and the condition of place where they are housed at, I would get it checked from somewhere else even though it would cost a few hundred bucks, and then again you do not get the warranty for shocks, Mine has just done about 500km. About A*W, i really wouldn't take their word as they will do anything to bypass the so called "Free" customers. The exact day i bought the car there was a huge noise from the front left wheel, they asked me to take it to the workshop after hours of inspection apparently there was nothing wrong and the noise was cause it was new :-) but I just happen to take it to my local mechanic and found out that a Nut was missing on the bracket holding the AC condenser. The same experience I had with them with my WagonR, a few days after a replacement of the rack-ends, there was a wobble on one of the front wheels , And their first diagnose was that the razors need to be replaced, !!!!! which would cost another 4k plus alignment. But to see the Axle Nut wasn't tightened properly. This is just my experience, Having no option but to go for an indian car, i wouldnt count on them for their diagnosis.
  2. Hmm , im not that savy on bikes but he did adjust the pilot screw and the petrol jets, In fact he did, he did removed the whole assebly and cleaned, THe fuel efficiency has improved a bit now, but the power of the bike has dropped :-), makes sense as he could've closed out the petrol jets. The mechanic also removed both the tappet covers and adjusted the tappets and the timing chain ( auto adjusted) , About the Sputter noise ( sounds like two metal plates hitting) - its getting worse by the day :-( , But now it only happens at high rev's , and also before the bike heats up, According to the mechanic , he says that the engine is screwed up, But i doubt it, My bro sent this bike down to me from Japan as he had got it off an auction. The meter shows 20k and according to him it was the same reading there as well. Any comments about taking it to Stafford Motors :-(, I have no other choice as i have been in the garage for the past 1.5 weeks :-( Thanks in Advance Niroshan
  3. thanks for the input guys "Taking into account the non smooth engine and high fuel consumption my guess is the air/fuel mixture is off. Get the carbs cleaned and tuned by a good mechanic " I just got the carbs cleaned today and the fuel i should say has improved a bit , Before it did like 10 - 12 Km per litre. But Ive heard spada's do over 30 Km's . The problem is the "good mechanic" where can i find one of them :-) , Also got the spark plugs cleaned and the air cleaner as well , My guess is also that the air/petrol mixture has been screwed up. Any place where i could get this done. "sputter sound..is it a like a metal crashing sound? can u hear it continuously while u are @ 6000rpm..then stop the bike and make it to the neutral..remove the air filter and slowly rev close to 6000 for couple of seconds.. then give it a sudden rush towards 8000 rpm.. and keep it there for about 10 seconds.if u can not hear any thing u dont need to be worry.. other wise u need to take it to a good mechanic quickly.. " Yes it is the exact sound, Sounds like 2 metal plates crashing, I will try this today, Thanks again guys. :-) Peace
  4. Hi Thanking everyone in advance Need some help with regards to repairing my bike :-) Just bought a Honda Spada VT 250 bike a couple of days ago , Once the bike revs to about 6000 rpms in about the 4th gear there is a sputter sound in the engine, and its gone once the bike reduces speed / engine is idle. The bike is also terrible on fuel. Is there anything i can do to find out what is wrong and is there a reliable place that i can get it fixed Thanks Niroshan

  7. No its this place in chitra lane in , the name is "westar " i think, they frequently advertised on hitad, so i assumed they were for real, now the whole electrical system is screwed :-(
  8. I did take it back, Now the dude says that some one else had wired the small black box that controls everything else and he has to remove everything, its double the work now..... Im taking it back this sunday, And nothing else is working , but i did try something like this, disconnected one battery terminal, then connected one node of a multimeter to the battery and the other to the disconnected terminal, there is a lot of current passing by, around 8A, is this normal
  9. I installed a security system from a joint in narahenpita :-), now even when i take the key out of the vehicle, the shutters are working, not automatically, just when i use the switch, Will this cause the battery to drain, its now problem for me but will it be one for the vehicle, Its an indian Suzuki Wagon r
  10. Tickets can be bought online at www.ticketslk.com and you can also get the tickets delivered to a place your prefer. :-)
  11. is this a blue car.. 12 valve carb, gassed ?
  12. CV joints, get them checked, the wobble comes due to a slight play in the ( how can i say this -) the CV joint consists of a shaft that rotates which are suspended by metal( i think) balls, In due time these balls degrade and tend to move away from their original place at high speeds ( they wear off) so just get them checked, see if you get a strange noise when you have shap bends or ( doing a U turn). Just a thought, not sure though
  13. This site that i came across , www.carbibles.com ( i dont know if this is old new) but, it explains everything very clerly and in detail
  14. Yes, infact i have seen it in the process it was built, i wish i didnt , the amount of Cataloy and the dressings, :-)
  15. Hi, Hmmmmmm, I am on the lookout for a car, but this is not what i had in mind, i just came across it and was a bit below the budget that i had in mind, What i though was to get the Car and then change the motor. There is a gas kit installed and it is carrying a 80kg tank in the back, which is the first thing i am going to take off if i buy it, I just needed an opinion as to what i would have to come across. I have had bad experiences with these type on engines, I am not sure whether there is anything wrong with it, just curious as to whether i have other options
  16. Yo, 7 lakhs, But the problem is , it is a 12 valvle SOHC 1300 and already gas a gas kit installed, So i believe there is not much that i can expect from the performance stand point. Couldn't check the body though, the paint looks ok and not sure of the suspension. 4 speed gearbox. Are the engines you entioned above readily available , i called the Eurx-nip@@@ performance parts store and they did not have much of an idea about it. does this come with a turbo charger - 4G15 1500cc engine
  17. Yo guys, Got a Mitsubishi Mirage 1995 Hatchback , i think it is worht the amount the guy is asking for it, But the engine is all F@@@@ up, 12 valve SOHC 1300cc , The engine bay looks big enough to hold something bigger. How is the total overview of th car, any experiences, Will it be a good choice if i was some laymen looking for a car. Thanks niroshan

    Rpm Meter

It is easier to get the signal wire from the coil pack, unless you are so sure of what you are doing better not play around with them, an incorrect connection will cause your delco to malfunction which will be quite expensive, ( you need to get the power throug a relay so that the wire dont heat up, and also better have fuse installed just in case), Mo***Cade near muttiah road behind the access towers , they have a set of good meters,

    Rpm Meter

you can fix it to the delco, ( the distributer) but only if the meter that you are fixing does not have sensor. the fb13 model comes with the sensor, if you have an ecu then its no game else, need to just have a look at it
  20. try near mount just befroe the junc from moratuw rite opposite templers road
  21. Also this could be a leak from one of the water jackets.... hoist the vehicel and check somewhere near the starter motor, somewhere close to the gear box. if there is water dripping while the vehicle is stalled and not when it is moving it could be leaking from the water pump, if the water is still leaking while the vehicle is hot it is from either the hoses or the water jackets.... This model does come with an electric fan .. so there is no fan belt,, since it has a thermostat valve then the fan is electric... is there a strange noise coming out of the fan , if so then the fan is busted ( anotehr way to check this is swicth the enigne on and the fan is rotating just see if the fan is lagging, rotating slowly, or it is rotating at a stady pace..) ( in other word see if the fan serves it purpose or it still rotates.) GMI
  22. This is a mitusbishi outlander , the domestic version ( Airtrack) and seem to be having a problem with the right wheel, as i accelerate there is a loud hum, like something hitting against the motor, it seems to be coming from that wheel as i assume cause i can feel a vibration when i keep th foot on the floor board, vould this be a problem with the engine mount , as that is also cracked a little bit, or any of the joints that are there. Please could someone help me on this, Niroshan
  23. Guys,, After many years of using a japanese vehicle (starlet GT) i've switched to a maruti 800 cc simply cause of the fuel prices... I'm satisfied with the fuel consumption but not at all with the driving pleasure... Do any of you guys have experience in maintaining a mini van ( buddy van) as i would definitly like to get back to using a japanese vehilce.. The fuel efficiency Maintenance All this time i though that according to the Cylinder Capacity to Weight ratio the starlet would deifnitly be better in fuel... but i was wrong... Any comments guys
  24. My EP 82 is up for sale , i think its not ethical to give the details over the forum, i have already posted the ad on AL it'll be on display tomoro most probably. Guys i apologize if this is not the right think to do.
  25. My Ep 82 does around 13-14 km in city limits as i use it everyday to go 40 km daily mostly with traffic - need to fill it twice a month with like a quater left at the 2nd fill. This is with wide 205/55/14 tyres, Beat barrel, Iridium plugs.
