    Tyre Prices

For Fk sake, why dont you get 4 large metal rings made for your wheels (like in a bullock cart). I bet you wont have to change a tyre till you die, and with how little rolling resistance you get amazing mileage.
  2. As I recall, it used to be 35k around Nov-Dec 2006 when our car (a 2003 model) was converted, but a couple of months afterwards I recall reading an article saying that it had been increased to 250k. But crosswind and NZer might be more up-to-date on this than me, in which case I might be wrong.
  3. As kids i'm sure there isn't one of us who didn't want to do this. But looks like you went ahead with it and did it! Awesome! If you dont mind me asking why are you planning on putting in a 100cc engine first and then changing it to a 125? Wouldn't it be easier if you just went with the 125? It'll save you a fair bit of time/money/efforts in modifying the chassis to accommodate the new engine. I presume you went with the single rear wheel configuration so that its easier to fit a motorcycle drive train. Am I right? And like Komi says, we want updates on everything that happens with this..
  4. I agree with Komi. It depends a lot on if you can afford it. If you're fine with 3rd party insurance, you probably save the biggest expense involved. As for 'permission' that's purely based on your life-partner.
  5. He's telling you that you should be sharing this on the post whoring thread... not that YOU were post whoring
  6. On top of what defendertdi said, there's the Rs.250,000/= conversion fee. And whatever money you save on your fuel costs will be lost when selling the van some day cos no matter how hard you try it will still not get the same market value as a original diesel. In a case like this its simpler to sell the petrol van and buy a diesel one.

    Tyre Prices

Off-Topic: You know, over here when someone says "Total damage was $XXX." they are talking about the price of a prostitute+room+rubber... This is very common on forums where members give field reports. Anyway, back to tyres...
  8. that car is not a sedan. it's a station-wagon
  9. I think you're just experiencing kickdown... Google "Automatic transmission kickdown"... its a normal thing...not a fault..

A lot of people have had similar issues before; IIRC, its related to a oil seal that gets fried over time. fixable with a repair kit. Search the forum and you'll find a lot of details. Dont expect people to type everything all over again
  11. Well, if they did a proper job bolting everything, then it wont be done in 5 mins. Then it wont be an "innovative concept".. Then again, we know the channel its featured on and the guy doing the "modification" so I guess we really cant expect a lot... Dumi##a compares this car to the Mustang Vin Diesel drives in Fast and the Furious (he actually drove a Charger, which has no connection to a mustang).. So there's another hint about this guy's knowledge..

    Battery

From your explanation it seems the battery replacement might not have been necessary. Yes, when the AC is running the alternator normally gives out a higher current (cos its needed to work the AC's clutch. But what's the voltage across the battery when the car is idling with no AC?

  14. I saw this car on a sirasa autovision clip on youtube.. The key feature of this car is that the body kit is "interchangeable".. Dumi##a harped about how you can change the kit based on your mood and what not.. and the whole kit change was done in under 15 mins... but by the looks of these photos doesnt look like they even screw in all the bolts... I'll try find the clip...
  15. hmmm... I find it hard to believe that someone genuinely needs info/insights on this vehicle, but conveniently the only info he can find is a advert by the agent. I just googled "Mitsubishi Motero Sport 2014" and got a ton of articles and reviews. We'll leave it to the mods to decide
  16. I think its 2 different issues. You mentioned that the Cat-Con light as well as the battery light are lit up right? which is why I initially presumed some electrical bug. The engine revving and the car not moving seems different to me.. Let's see what the other guys think too.
  17. OK, I understand your car's a manual. And on a manual car, on any single gear the engine Rpm should be directly proportionate to the vehicle's speed. If this is not so, your clutch is slipping. Simple as that. Example: On gear X @2000rpm if your car is doing 20kmph then @3000rpm it should be doing 30kmph and @4000rpm it should be doing 40kmph. I really feel you're looking at the problem from a wrong angle, or there's a discrepancy between the what you're saying and what we're hearing..
  18. This is getting confusing by the minute! So you mean even when the engine revs go up the car's speed does not proportionately go up?
  19. I'm thinking its something to do with the sensors/electronics related to the indicator since the battery indicator also acts funny. The cat-con is basically a filter.. The only thing that could go "wrong" with it is that it could get choked up. If this happens the engine wont rev up, cos the exhaust cant flow freely. And if its really bad the engine will simply stall or not start at all. As for your statement that " and I noted that the engine is rev hard but car is not moving much and ignition sound also hearing.", from my thinking the only reason the car wouldn't move when the engine is revving hard, is if the power is lost somewhere between the engine and the wheels. So this could be a clutch that's slipping (if its a manual transmission) or a torque converter converter issue (if its an auto).
  20. If you're referring to me i'm watchman not watchmen. And geez, what made you blow your last fuse... I didnt even say anything since your last post. You didnt see me in a dream did you? In our defence, we never asked you to waste your time and type all your off topic ramblings on every thread. And you dont need to go full-on drama queen to ask to be 'taken off'. You can just retain your membership and not post. But why dont you just take a chill-pill post ONLY what's relevant to the topic at hand.

    Evo Engine

Its not his urge to experiment that I find ridiculous, but his lack of focus and direction. Well, let me put it this way. You were also part of this forum at his age. You were just as passionate about your mirage too. But you didn't come here yelling "yo I wanna drop an evo engine in my car" then the next week crying "my car's not very fuel efficient.." You had a clear plan/vision for your car, and you did your fair share of research and thought out your questions, before voicing it out. So yeah, i guess it comes down to one's own personal opinion of what's experimenting and what's day dreaming and what's being realistic..

I'm not doubting that the paint would not serve its purpose. But there are somethings that are just over the top. Dingy isnt the first dude on AL to do a restoration. There are other who are way more experienced and knowledgeable, and I'm yet to see any of them follow this path. So unless someone like GTAm or MasterDon state otherwise and proves me wrong, I would like to hold on to my opinion that this is overdoing it. And Dingy is the guy who started half a dozen projects that were way above his tiny little head; so its justifiable to be take his ideas with a pinch of salt. Come to think of it, he and Sylvi would make a great pair. They must might be the automotive equivalent of:

haha!!! But some of this guy's solutions for life's problems are so comical you cant help but imagine such scenarios..

    1. Ever heard of regular "anti-corrosive" paints? Or are you planning on going on an ocean voyage in your car? 2. By now you should have realized that you're clearly not competent or mentally prepared yet to be 'dropping' things.. you start panicking and goto the worst case scenario rather than work hard using the conventional methods of sorting things out. (latest being your marine paint idea)
