was just wondering if anyone can advise me as to if this place is any good. I believe its kinda new so would like to hear or fear well in time!

Hi All What i mean is that the warning light on the cluster is on of recent.Tyre pressures are all fine but in any case, the original wheels were replced with a set of alloys a while back but the light only recently came on.The later models seem to have a reset switch under dash but these dont seem to have any.I asked a toyota mech and he advised me to remove the bulb!! Surely there should be an easier and more sensible way of doing it?

Hey guys It is similar to the 2L-TE just minus the E! It doesnt have the electronically controlled injector pump. It's the gen before the 'TE' series fitted in the double cab hilux. And yes, it has cracked the head in the past! I checked the given site in the post but it only has a owners manual which is basic. Im actually looking for a workshop manual.

Does anyone have or know where i can get a workshop manual for a toyota 2L2-T engine?

Charitha, I have used it on some older obd1 cars but cant guarantee offhand.Does it have the standard DLC socket? Is your check light on? The best i can do is for us to make arrngements to meet and try it. The Don! The unit i have here with me is a actron cp9135. Its a us product and have used it plenty outside SL. It does OBD1 and OBD2. It covers basically all us cars and many asian and euro. Iv used it on Jeep, chrysler,dodge,volvo, jaguar,rover, some jap toyotas, sme nissans ,hyundai, daewoo,honda,bmw. Its a handheld which has helped me plenty. Thats the reason i cant yet gurantee what SL cars i can scan but always willing to try.

Well, the first guy who contacted me seemed a genuine AL subscriber from the chat we had.Brought a Hyundai sante fe with a blown TPS, new one solved that. Hi guys Can anyone advise me as to where i can hire a small, reliable and economical car for a week or so? I want it on self drive basis. The commercial carhire companies are kind of a bit on the steep side. Any ideas?

Mine isnt a 49 and since im having licence trouble, cant use it everywhere. Just need something to get us around for a few weeks at the most, without licence issues! How much would a used one go for and would i be able to sell it in a hurry before i leave? Anywhere in particular i can check for one?

Hey guys This is strange but true. I had a similar cold start problem and eventually found the problem as a blocked fuel tank breather! What was happening was that when left for a while, specially cold weather, coz the breather was blocked, the contracting air in the tank would pull the diesel back from the system hence the having to pump it before starting. Try this, before leaving the car overnite, take out the fuel cap.If it starts in the morning without any problem then Bingo!

Hi From the info you have given, i take it that you have the straight 6, single cam motor with timing belt. If so, under the inlet manifold, there is a pair of valves which are connected to vacum hoses to compensate inlet man vacum when you switch on the ac.It basically picks up the iidleing and keeps it stable with the ac load.Check them n make sure they are connected without any leaks.Thats a bit of an old motor with minimal electronics so doesnt like vacum leaks! The airflolw meter can also do the same but if you pry open the top cavr on the airflow, its quite easily adjustable.

Thanks Don! Please dont remind me of the lost baggage thing, that was my warm welcome to Srilanka! On arrival, one of the officers at the airport saw me holding a S.L passport while standing in the que and came out of his way to pull me aside and tell me that he could get me thru quicker in exchange for 'something'! Was'nt a long que so i opted to wait then they tell me the luggage story.I had to wait 6 days before they called me to tell me that i have to come collect it myself! To add to all that, as i have been travelling the island, i always try to call ahead to book lodging.To my utter dissappointment, 2 lodges told me straight that they dont accomodate Srilankan's! Then it's been the licence thing! I spoke to the dep comm as he was the one who approved my passport in the first place and this time around, he says it cant be done with a PP! Dont get me wrong, it's a beautiful place with good people but as long as its help your looking for, it's a mission! Why should we have to pay someone to do his job! So i guess for the rest of my hols, im going to hiring a driver as for the bike, well, i just take it out up n down the road and park it. Thanks guys.

Thanks for all the responses guys. As i wasnt planning on stayong so long, i didnt bring my licence along but in any case, apparently, as a srilankan, i cant use a foreign licence here! As for the one day service, they tell me its only for people under 21 yrs of age! Any older and you have to wait 3 months! Yes you would think the PP is even better ID but not in S.L! The annoying thing is that i applied for the test with the passport and they acceped it. Then when i went for the written exam, i was told it can only be done with the NIC by the examiner and was taken to the Dep Commisioner.All this was at Werahera. He looked at my application and my PP and said its ok, it can be done as it is a Srilankan PP so i was allowed to do the test and passed and was given a date for the trial. I went for the trial and was told it cant be done without the NIC! Infact the same guy who allowed it the first time said the opposite this time! I went to the DMV in narahenpita and its just been a pillar to post thing from there! Since coming to SL, iv found that im being given a much harder time when i show that i am a Srilankan!Its a shame really!

Yeah, thats the same yellow honda from the july show! What a waste. It's not to say i dont support dressing up old cars but that it should be done humanely!Customizing is an art which takes time to perfect. In this day and age of cars rolling off the production line looking stunning, it's easier to spend little and get a new car to look better than to spend a lot and make ab old car look like a disaster! The fairlady, that is a classical car which gets its due attention wherever it goes!Even the old fairlady!

Hey guys. Can anyone out there help please! Im in S.L on holiday and staying longer than expected. I didnt bring my licence and wanted to get one here, as i am a srilankan. Having been out most of my life, i do not have a S.L national ID, just applied for it, they say bout 3 months. I went for the written test and passed it and was given a date for the trial. When i went for the trial, they say i need the i.d even though i had applied with my passport! I bought a bike here and cant use it! Amy suggestions? Isnt there anything like a temporary licence ?

Hey guys! Good to hear that im not the only one who noticed the above mentioned. 1. That bug is a disgrace! 2. The yellow S2000, that is a classical sports car, ruined!Did you hear the awful sound system? 3. The fake websites. No shortage of that here! 4. Lack of participants. Basically the same cars from the show a few weeks back and dominated by the offroaders. That orange car with the 20 inches was about the only showstopper.
