Hi, One of my friends in Australia wants to send a used car, (Probably a unique car make to Australia like Holden) to Sri lanka for his personal use. What kind of import procedures exist in Sri Lanka now and is it really possible to import from AUstralia under the current regulations and register that in Sri Lanka? And what kind of tax will come under this? Please enlighten us with your ideas. Thanks all

AFAIK Honda EK3 original rim size is 13". Mine also has 14" rims and I also get the noises from the rear. massive "Thud" noise when I go over a pot hole with one or two people in the car....should be a worn bush...

What Is The Best Place To Fix Car Windscreen
Car Maniac replied to PrasaP's topic in General Automotive
Samarasinghe Windscreen House is the best from my experience..............they know how to do it well........ -
Luxel is the highest grade in 121 series Corollas came upto 2002. This is positioned at the same level as Nissans N16 model Sylphy which is 1.8L. The Luxel has all the luxuries possible in a corolla. A really good car I must say. Not sure about the 2nd hand market cos some of our sri lankens are scared of 1.8L engine no matter its VVti or what...lol... This Luxel has crome handles, triptronic gears, laced seats, all four disk brakes, original alloys and many more extras. Happy buy!!!

bro Ruslan, these fog lights of yours are from Corolla 121's right? And if I can remember you have a Luxel grade corolla (122)!!!!!!!!! Machan an original fog light set would cost around 20,000 bucks according to you but I know a Taiwanese original type these fog light set cost around 6,000 - 7,000 rs max. I have bought this Taiwanese fog set few years back from a shop in Darley road, Rumal Motors. (please moderators remove this name if its against forum rules) and fitted that to our previous 121 corolla. They looked perfect. These lights are identical to the original lights and easily fits the lights bays on the buffer nicely. Mounting brackets are also given with the lights. Im sorry bro I have no idea who can clean these lights. But I suggested as above was because if its not worthy for you to repair for a higher cost, then you can buy a taiwanese fog light set and get that fitted for a worthy price as I told. Its the same shape, crystal as the originals. No one can say they are after markets. Good Luck!!!!

Yes bro, this ATF circulates. So there could be a relationship between ur radiater issue and gearbox problem. Also checkout the ATF, cos if the ATF is not in good condition, that also creates gear shifting delays in auto gear boxes. The radiator under heating could be either removed thermostat or malfunctioning spring in thermostat or a related issue afaik. good luck

Ya I would agree Swift/ Ignis is better than the Kei in many ways. But I should say if you are looking for a good fuel efficiency, this particular Swift/ Ignis model we are mentioning here is not the best car. It is very bad on fuel efficiency. Even with the 1.3L engine, just 9kmpl or max 10kmpl in Colombo. This is my own experience.

Yeah, Devinda_Z is the most suitable guy who can help you out. Hope he will assist you soon.

Bro, I would recommend you first the following to stick with the 13 inch rims (it reduces your additional costs that you have to pay for a new 14 rims)and the following are recommended 13 tyre sizes that would look better than your current ones. 13" tyre suggestions 165/65R13 77 175/60R13 77 185/60R13 80 and if you really need to gofor 14", then get 165/60R14 75 And you should keep in mind than not all 13 inch or 14 inch tyres are suited to your car. In some 13 " tyres, even some can hit the fenders of your car or touch the body in heavy loads and while turning fully due to improper matching. Therefore, the suggested tyre sizes are the most recommended sizes for you to avoid those problems in future. You should always see a tyre fitting guide when deciding on changing tyre sizes or dimensions. On the internet, you would find many. Wish you a good choice.

Tranny The Major difference is All Indian Swifts variants are manual and Japanese Swifts are auto. Models The Indian Swift has two models which are VXI and ZXI. The VXI is the non ABS (Only the Vacuum Assisted brakes) version and ZXI has ABS brakes. This ZXI model is arnd 2.8 million if Im correct. Engine And the engine of Indian Maruti Swift is a 1.3L non VVT engine and japanese swift has a 1.5L VVT engine. Suspension The Indian swift has 14inch steel or alloy rims and it has a higher ground clearance than the Japanese swift. (I think in Indian model, they have lifted the car to facilitate driving in bad indian roads) The japanese one has a more comfortable ride. And Jap version has 15inch alloys. mmm... Thats all I can remeber upto now. If I remeber more. I will inform you guys. bye

What about your cars ATF oil(Automatic Transmission Oil) condition? Have you changed oil after you purchased the vehicle? If yes, how long have you driven after the change? 30,000 kms is the maximum I think. (guys pls add up if Im wrong). My father also has a swift (2004 model) but still I think its the same design as your 2001 car (squarer model). Our car once had a gear shifting reluctance problem with its auto tranny and it got solved after an ATF change. In auto gear boxes, most of the problems get solved after an ATF oil change. Many drivers dont care about ATF oil change periods...you know. So check my points' relevance to your problem and if you haven't changed oil for many kms, get it changed and see how it goes. it wont cost you more than 5 - 6000 rs for a ATF oil change. Good Luck! Always willing to help

Good Place To Buy Toyota Parts Other Than Toyota Lanka?
Car Maniac replied to highlander's topic in TOYOTA
Taas Agencies, I think they are the dealers for KYB shocks. And their prices are also reasonable. -
Dev, I think you better change the bulbs and see first. Cos in my car, when I first bought it had very dull green lighting on dials and when I open the cluster and checked, I saw the bulb's colors are faded and theres lot of soot on them which has turned them to black. So I replaced them with a same 3V units and the result was better visibility and good looks. (Previously I could hardly see anything on dials at night). Anyway the current illumination is reasonable as that dials are not transparent ones like in new cars. (cant help) The back light comes out from the edges of the dials. hope this will work for you too. Good Luck!

Good One from Dev as usual. :angry-smiley-048: :angry-smiley-048: The best option of all.

Disappointing A*W Collision Repair Service :-(
Car Maniac replied to sudheeras's topic in General Automotive
The finish quality looks very very brilliant Miniace. But by the way, what is this place? If you dont mind, please mention about the place as this could be a great help to any victim with a dented car looking for a good bodyshop. From my knowledge, quality body workshops are very rare in Sri Lanka but this place of yours looks way above the quality standards. We would like to know what this place is? Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
Wish you a Happy Belated Birthday bro! Hope you had a great one!!!! :jumping-smiley-013:

I think you are absolutely correct (100%) ! I also agree with you. Since brand new cars are their sole business, they might have a bad attitude about this whole heap of JDM reconditioned toyota cars running on Sri Lankan roads which destroy their businesses. Yep! This could be a strategic trick.
