There is no fool proof method Best is to buy from the owner who has used the vehicle for a reasonable period rather than from a road side sale There are enough and more vehicles on sale by users advertised on the registered address, when you visit and talk with people you can make a judgement. If in doubt walk away.

Mmmm wondering what they are going to use for all the brand new CRV turbos they are importing In any case synthetic should be ok for 10-15k up to one year (BMW, Merc, Porsche with turbos use similar intervals)

These will be routine maintenance for any vehicle with such mileage, you will have to do this with any new care although what needs replacement will vary with the engine / drive train type etc. Saving could have been made if the service/ replacement were done by specialist rather than agent.

Agree with Clark'sson due to current tax structure vehicles with high capacity engines will hold value better.

2012-2013 CRV might fit your requirements too Newer than the the Toyota and Lexus very comfy and bullet proof built quality / realiability You should be able to find a decent mileage one with company maintained history

Monti 3.2 (4M41) has 200 bhp lugging 2300kg CRV 1.5L 190 bhp has to carry only 1600kg it is all about power to weight not the engine size

You will not find a decent Montero for your budget CRV has more equipment, space in 1st 2nd rows, more economical, faster Only plus point in the Montero is off road ability which is not a priority for you

Go for it, It will be as reliable as the Premio only issue is there are not much cheap parts as for Toyota (fakes, used) in the event of a accident or some unfortunate event where you need to change expensive parts you may have to get new parts which is expensive. However i don't think there is much of a price difference in genuine parts between the brands Current Premio came in to being in 2007 so it is a 12 year old model where as the Mazda is more recent. Target market for the Mazda is Europe so it drives and handles better, has latest tech.

I want put it under HOT Hatch, but Picanto is quite nippy let down by the lower power of the 1.0 L, 1.0L Turbo will be fun sadly not offered in SL

Some of the Jap sets do not function with out the map SD card, i had a similar issue with my Nissan Leaf few years back. Card is usually standard with the set it would have been nicked at the port or your dealer. Ask them to get it fixed. In my case they had to send back the head unit to Japan and get a new card programmed. Just inserting the card (copy) does not work either.
