New Tax Structure for Cylinder deactivation option?
kush replied to ajm's topic in General Automotive
I'm not complaining will be ordering a C200 paying Allion Tax or may be less. But this tax system has made certain vehicles go out of market Eg: Prius, Rav 4, X-Trail which are used by average Jonny -
New Tax Structure for Cylinder deactivation option?
kush replied to ajm's topic in General Automotive
Most fair and workable tax structure for SL will be based on the CIF value as we don't have the sophistication and the resources to manage tax based on emission levels. Simple principal higher the value, more luxury leading to more tax. This should take care of the idiotic tax structure we have where Mercedez C-class will be tax less than the Toyota Corolla -
Any news on the new Insight in Japan New CRV is going to be launched in August with Hybrid Power train

Not anymore BMW (1,2 series) Merc. (A, B class) vehicles have cut corners too you will know the difference when you get in to one. I would suggest A4 (1.4L) over 3 series (1.5L) for BMW is 3 cylinder 134 Bhp vs Audi 4 cylinder 148 Bhp and VW group 1.4L is one of the sweetest engines around BMW 3 will soon be replaced your car will be outdated in no time. I would also look at the face lifted C200 soon to be launched in SL

Most of the Euros it is 15K or 1 year. You need to use manufacturer recommended oil (fully syntactic) Some of the local agents go by 7500 / 6 months just to wash and clean your car and rip you off Some go by servicing requirement for harsh conditions which is usually 7500 / 6 months, but when you really look at the criteria SL does not require them (unless you drive a taxi in the city) As in your case there is not warranty requirement (I presume), save you money and the environment.

It has 136 bhp much more than the avearge Jap (Allion, Premio, Axio)

These figures does not work in SL with our road conditions

You can import a are 2 years within registration on the original country. If it is registered later in the year should be possible.

I suggest you go with the Vitz as most of the mechanical are from the older version and they are very reliable. 5 year warranty of the Picanto looks attractive however in your case it may not matter too much. Both cars are very safe, Vitz may be little more as it will have curtain air bags and traction control which the Picanto does not have. Vitz have more room inside especially on the rear seats. Vitz may be marginally more economical due to more advance engine and the CVT gearbox Picanto will be more fun to drive. New tax system has reduced the price of the Vitz substantially this is the good time to buy. Vitz will have better resale when you want to sell I opted for a Picanto year back as the price difference was over Rs. 1.0 Mn. at the time.

You missed the most best Porsche Cayman/ Boxter the best handling one for those who are fortunate to afford one. And of cause you get the i8 with the current duty you basically pay for the car SLK cheap for a Merc couple of good ones in the used market too

Yes it has to be programed to the brain of the driver. Once done it will not allow any hard acceleration, predictive driving not braking at the last moment in traffic. word of caution though it can appear to the following traffic that you are a moron in a hybrid (thel higanna)

There was one with C****S****A Motors Thalahena, Koswatte some time back. They were asking for more than the new model. It may be RM2 (2.0L 4wd)

Miss out on all the fun cars

I guess it make sense now Macan specifies 3-4 psi higher pressure to the rear wheels likely to compensate for the rear biased drive 30% difference in thread depth between axles works out to 0.5% in rolling diameter which may be within the tolerance of the AWD system.

CIF JPY 2.3-2.5 Mn = Rs. 3.4 Mn. Duty (4.875-3.6) = Rs. 1.275 Mn Approximately Rs. 4.7 - 5.0 Mn.

All depend on the vehicle, example Porsche Macan is full time 4WD with 20:80 torque split between front and rear, has different tire width front / rear, different pressure front/ rear CRV 4WD, electronic activation when front wheels slip requires to maintain identical tires all around, pressure same for all wheels This is what Porsche Manual says Initially, new tires do not provide their full grip. You should therefore drive at moderate speeds during the first 120 miles (200 km) to extend the service life of the tires and achieve full performance capability. Only tires from the same manufacturer and with the same specification code (e.g. "N0," "N1," etc.) may be mounted on the vehicle. Before mounting new tires, inquire about their current approval status: Contact an authorized Porsche dealer. e Use only tire makes tested and approved by Porsche. The difference in tread depths on one axle must not exceed 30%. Always replace both tires on one axle to avoid any unnecessary effect on driving behavior due to varying tread depths. Only authorized Porsche dealers may install tires. Visit a qualified specialist workshop. Porsche recommends an authorized Porsche dealer, as they have trained technicians and the necessary parts and tools. Adjust your driving style to the altered handling behavior. Go with the manufacturer specifications / recommendation they know the vehicle best

My mom has a 141, 10 years old only routine maintenance, i mean absolutely no repairs.

Any car which is currently selling at Rs. 13.6 Mn. duty paid can be brought for Rs. 10 Mn. Many options

No offense intended just my take on the general car buying public Most of them buy Audis' as they are cheaper now with the ridiculous duty system but still for all most of them share common technologies be it a 1L A1 or 2L A4 you need specialized equipment software even to service them which will not be available in the service station across the road where majority of the users will service the vehicle. Knowing our average service Johnny he will wash, vacuum and change the oil with what is available with him. I'm glad that at least some of you are making inquires and trying to do best for the vehicle. If it was my car i would take it to the agent and get the service done, might cost bit more but for the peace of mind.

This is the issue with us we buy sophisticated machines thinking we are getting a better deal not looking not only long term but even very short term. Most of the new cars especially Euros need agent maintenance or at least a proper facility where you can plug in and do diagnostics. The type of cars that we get down in recent times most of them are going to get ruined due to ignorance and negligence of the owners.

Oil life monitor will re calibrate based on distance, average speed, number of stop starts etc. expect it to come down further may settle some where around 10k
-
what you need is a Corolla/ Nissan AD It will serve your week end requirement

Anybody has experience with the Macan

What if you don't pay the fine Then CMC will have to take you to courts where you defend the case just thinking aloud.
