Nissan Tiida Latio - Fuel Efficiency And Other Info
TharakaWi replied to TharakaWi's topic in General Automotive
No Tiida users here? -
Hi, Do you guys have any idea on Tiida Fuel economy? I know it is spaciou, but is it a good drive? Any comments on it? Thanks in advance
-
I checked few 2004 ones... They were all around 2.6 - 2.8... I too think this should come down to around 2.2 odd
-
Just checked the revised prices with toyota lanka, Brand new Avenza - 3.2 mil Brand new Yaris - 4.4 mil Brand new Hlux - 6.7mil
-
Yep, the 2007 Belta is the only hope if you are going for Toyota. Any of you know the honda and nissa re-con options and prices?
-
Tida for 7.7 ... I think these carsale/agent guys are lying about the so called "previous price" Who on earth would buy a Tida for for 7.7! Man, forget about importing a car for below 2mil.., even below 3 mil is not easy
-
Ok guys, I just asked few car sales the price of a Vios. Apparently you can't buy 2006 model. (the law says we can buy cars that are older than 3.5 years though). 2007 vios is quite different than 2006 model. More like a Yaris. This is the new Vios http://paultan.org/2007/04/03/new-toyota-v...ed-in-thailand/ . Most carsales said that they cannot give an exact price, but it will vary from 3.1 - 3.5 odd... They said that we cannot import 121. The Axio was 5 mil . It's sad that even with the tax reduction it seems a bit difficult to get a decent car for less than 3mil... (All prices are for re-cons)
-
Vios??? Belta??? Yaris??? A car seller told me even the basic, manual Axio might come down to 3million range (not sure though)
-
I understand what you mean. But many ppl talk about this rumor. The AL members also have mentioned abt this. However, certain big time importers and agents had v.little stock during tax slashing. There could be a certain link in gov that may have leaked the news. Anyways the guys i spoke to are by no means any big, or even medium. But this rumor is spreading...
-
Hm, I love the fact that the prices went down... I spoke to one car importer (individual) and another broker..., They all told me that this reduction is gonna there for only few months. One of them said two months , other also said few months. This rumor seems to be spreading now. Do u guys think this has any truth???
-
According to what I read in daily mirror, Maruti which was taxed for 183% is now only taxed 90%. So wouldn't 384% go down to 195% level?
-
I would be thrilled to have tax reduced. Right now, even middle class people cannot afford a family car due to these taxes. There had been many rumours before previous budgets about change of tax. I think it's a similar situ this time too... IMHO it is highly unlikely these taxes would come down...

QUOTE (Killer-B @ Mar 30 2010, 09:28 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Good thing you mentioned about the pick up, I was told that having the A/C on really drains out the power from the 1.3L engine.....is it so bad? Yeah, pick up is not good while the AC is on... I switch off the AC whenever I need a quick pickup. However, I must say that for a 1.3 engine, pick up is really good (when AC is off).

QUOTE (Killer-B @ Mar 29 2010, 04:03 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> and when considering the extras the car have do you think it still costs too much? Hey man, It's the "normal" price for a v.good condition starlet. Make sure it's accident free, and still has the original paint. Many Sri Lankans, for some reason, seems to be interested on the number of owners. First owner, second owner cars are in high demand. ( I don't think like that, actually that's a stupid concept. But it matters when you go to sell a vehicle). What's the colour? usually non-white cars a little expensive. So if the car is in v.good condition, accident free, original paint, first/second owner, a nice colour, Auto, Alloys - then 14/50 is the going price. Yeah, Starlet is not common in the market. Most ppl fall in love with the car as it has good fuel economy, comfort and a nice pickup (for a small car) Infact, I am in the process of selling my Starlet (already confirmed the buyers) for good 30-40k less than your buying price. But mine lacks Alloys, and has evidence of a small crash... If my car didn't miss those two, I too woudn't have settled for less that 14/40 - 14/50.
-
I think starlet is a good option machan. My one does over 15km/l in long runs. It's much comfi than indian stuff, and cheaper than cars like Alto... Also u can get a good auto-gear one. Also better re-sale. It's a good buy.

Thanks guys... I didn't hav a clue that SB14 could get that bad... I always thought of it as a good car since fb13 is so reliable and economical...
-
any idea about sb 14?

I noticed some guys complaining about that they don't have enought RAM to run some of these games. Well, what we need for games (more than RAM or anything) is a good video card . These days graphics cards come with both gpu and dedicated RAM. There again the GPU(Graphics processing unit) is the important component rather than the memory it has... Nvidia 8400 and 9400 series falls into the mid-range graphics card. these let you play most of the games but not the graphics hungry games such as crysis... For such games you need 8600 or 9600 series cards... or even 8800 most games consume the inbuilt RAM provided in these graphics cards. Lemme explain the importance of gpu with an example. what we have in our PC is a General Purpose Processor. If you want to draw a circle on the screen, you have to execute few hundreds of cpu instructions do so. However, graphics card use a special purpose processor (gpu). drawing a circle in this special purpose processor could be done with only one or few instructions .

The Best Anti Virus Software In Town!!
TharakaWi replied to AMG's topic in PC and other Console Games
Kaspersky is definetely good. very good actually. Also very cheap. However, if you are looking for a free anti-virus, AVG could be sufficient -
Thanks STiB4... It was v.helpful. I guess you are talking in the range of 1-2 lakhs when u mean an engine overhaul
-
Hm, but isn't there a problem when registering cars that are bought from this? I heard these guys do Toyota 110 (not crystal light) and few other cars
-
Hi guys, I am considering buying a diesel car. I was looking at toyota CE110 , bluebird and SB14 But most ppl i know advise me not to go for diesel cars. They say tht Toyota CE 110 needs a complete engine-overhaul after 100,000 kms and say that i have to be really carefull in buying. Is this true? hav no idea about SB14 though. Any ideas abt SB14 and Bluebird? Is maintaining a diesel car horribly expensive (compared to petrol one)? Do you guys recommend?
-
Hm, starlet is a good buy. I am using a reflect for some time now and I am quite happy with it... It does good petrol, comfi and good value for money. The only problem is if u are really tall (like over 6) then u will hav to push the driving seat to the most rear. Then, the person seated behind ur seat wil have to suffer Overall it's a very good car. It has v.good pickup etc. Enjoy ur ride
-
hm, it really depends on wht type of a driver u are. Also don't forget, an accident can happen at anytime. Nobody intentionally goes and knock the vehicle. As for my experience, I have re-claimed 90% of my insurance so far. Actually the most recent accident didn't hav to do anything wit me! I just parked side of the road (where many other cars were parked) and some idiot had damaged and gone! These type of things can happen.

I have had experience wit jan#shkti, cel##nco and SLIC. (wit three different cars) I have had no problems wit cel##nco and jan#shkti and they have come at time, given proper assessments done payments quickly. Very satisfied. As for SLIC i have good story to tel. Few months back called these guys up from a place that is only 1km from there branch. They took 45 minutes to come! and the whole time the idiot who talks on the hotline said that the agent wil be there whithin next 10 mins... After that fellow came he assessed the damage as 2500, and told me not to claim it, coz no-claim bonus is more worth... I blasted the fellow and he actually then assessed it for 7000.... But i have to fix and go and show that fellow to get the payment!!! I did not claim it mainly coz i don't hav time to fix the car and travel around insurance branches showcasing it. Atleast I keep my no-claim bonus so i can move to a better insurance co next time. DO NOT GO FOR SLIC
