Red And Blue Flickering Strobe Lights
terrabytetango replied to xstreme911's topic in General Automotive
One with basic electronic knowledge and soldering skills can make a siren quite easily. Emergency vehicles these days use electronic sound modulation rather than the old school Klaxon style motor driven impellers. -

What we need is a lemon law and something equivalent to Carfax. -

Dude, that's just nasty -
I thought the Kaha Kurullas were the yellow D*MO and Latec buses introduced in the early 90s.

Orly? Well that is a first. It must've been more for his reckless maneuvering rather than the strobe that got him stopped. I've seen people in Col 3 and 4 get stopped for being retarded. I suppose it's a beginning, but forgive me for still being skeptical of our Police force's policing aptitude. A fluke will always occur, when it starts becoming regular is when they're actually doing their job. Kinda like Sanath and his recent batting performance vs the good old days. -
Oh no, not American. I'm 100% Sri Lankan, hailing from the City of Gems. I was rudely transplanted there a few years ago, but I try my best spend as much time on the Motherland as possible

It's actually the exact same dimensions as the Swift/Ignis, but with a different front end with larger lights and a hood scoop. The engine is a turbo, and parts are rare. You should look at the Swift/Ignis instead.

I use a Covercraft cover on my Cobalt, it was provided to my by the dealer so I have no idea how much it costs. However I have never had issues with damaged paint or anything else, and I believe it's waterproof as well, because I used it during last year's tornadoes and the car wasn't wet despite the pelting rain.

Same thing like the Xtra Mile Diesel, which has a higher Cetane rating. -
Red And Blue Flickering Strobe Lights

The most annoying I've come across are: - Ultrabright flashing multi colour LEDs pointed straight at the face of the driver behind them - Flashing red/yellow/green/blue strobe type lights, once again flashing in your face, mostly when the brake pedal is pressed (distracting the driver behind you at a most critical time) - Those who make up for their under developed manhood by switching on every single light on the front of their car thus blinding oncoming traffic (they're called fog lights for a reason you idiots), sometimes using them alone and no headlamps. - The ass hats who fit red bulbs in the front park lights (I hope a large Tata lorry collides with you head on on a dark road thus removing you from the gene pool and proving Mr. Darwin correct once again) A cop won't stop you for the above though because: 1) His knowledge of traffic law is sketchy at best 2) There is the possibility of getting into a long drawn argument with the driver about 1) 3) He's not paid enough to explore the extent of 2) -
Car Dvd Player And Reverse Camera

Some Chinese brands have total replacement units which include the entire front bezel, so they're indistinguishable from the factory fitted units. Avoid the Windows CE powered Chinese units, they're quite laggy. -
The Latest Need 4 Speed Game
terrabytetango replied to Achala Indika's topic in PC and other Console Games
Porsche Unleashed/2000 has great replay value. I still play it along side Pro-Street, when I yearn the need for a proper simulator rather than an arcade game. I'd recommend the XBOX 360, I've had one for 2 years, a single Rs40k investment back then. I was tired of spending major $$s for annual computer upgrades. The XBOX 360 is capable of VGA output, so you can hook it up straight to your computer's flat panel. I do miss the mouse/WASD (not going to invest in half baked goods like the XFPS or XIM 2), but I do not miss my annual Rs50k computer upgrade. -
It's just a misconception among the older folk, because they interpret the crumple zones as bad design. Their mentality is that in a collision, the car is supposed to sustain as little damage as possible. However the car manufacturers' way of thinking is for the passengers to sustain as little damage as possible, and bugger all about the car. At the speeds morons these days travel on the highways (people on the GA400 regularly go at between 90 and 120 on the inside most lane), you can no longer hope to drive away from an impact.

It appears to me like a spare wheel mount, and the vinyl hat thingy is covering up the mounting bolts?.

LOL, that's the canopy of the parachute used to drop a cluster bomb

I'm only familiar with Toyota's VVTi because of our 121, and if you read up about it on the net, the system does much more than what you described. I doubt the other variable valve systems on economy cars are much more different in principle than Toyota's is.

Headlight Fogging/discolouration

Great tutorial I was planning to do the same with my uncle's Corolla wagon, the lights look like really yellow. -
The VVTi systems in those cars are tuned for economy rather than power.

Grand Civic has one very unbecoming factor though, it's got a lower ground clearance than most regular cars. A relation of mine had one of the original 15 sri GLs (looks like a base model from the outside, but has power everything inside), and it was the only car which scraped the threshold of the front gate to our maha gedara. Other than that it's very good indeed, I believe there was even a dual carb version (35X or 35M?).

That's a Halogen bulb, maybe with some Xenon content which will add very slightly to whiteness. Being Osram, however, they should be good to go. The shipping however is not worth, and you should consult our local Osram agents before busting out 6k for a set (I only paid 7.5k for my 4300k HIDs). Also, see if they carry Osram Silverstars.

The Navigation system is extremely rare, but I don't think HID was ever an option. I think it became an option only with the ES series. There might be a slight issue, especially if the existing bulbs have been used for a significant period of time. The best thing would be to replace them both at once. And machan, what you have there is a regular Halogen bulb, not Xenon. Don't confuse yourself between the two, because that will only make it easier for shady shopkeeper types to sell you dodgy goods.

Yes, the BJ45 is the longest wheel base of the 40 series (BJ43 is the longer wheelbase). I believe there was a 4 door conversion made in South Africa based on the BJ45, as there's enough room to make it a proper 4 door vehicle.

Yeah but that's RWD with the engine fitted where the rear seats and luggage area used to be. Hell in that case just plonk a V8 in a Maruti and ride it like a Rodeo Bull

Isuzu diesel engines are some of the best in the world. We had a company provided base model 2WD (bench seat, rear half bumper, local fitted A/C through SML), and it really was a great vehicle. Loud as the engine was, you felt connected with it, and it took a massive bashing over the years ( brand new 54- truck, was used for nearly 8 years to travel to work sites throughout SL). I still see it on the roads these days, still used by the same company.
