I'm thinking of buying a hornet 250(cb250f) as a project bike. I need information on the legal side of this.
1. Changing the color - does the owners book need to be updated and what's that process like? Cost?
2. Body/chassis customization - does changing body panels and fairings require some kind of pre-inspection? And I wanna cut/replace the subframe and make changes to the swing arm as well. Does chassis customization require authorization from DMV?
3. Performance upgrades - Can I just go ahead with upgrades or do I need authorization for that as well?
4. Exhaust - is there a decibel amount that shouldn't be exceeded? Or how do u know if it's too loud? Couldn't really find any information regarding this in the DMV page.
Any kind of information would be much appreciated because I need this to be street legal and no trouble with cops 🐽. I also need this information before I start importing the required parts and components . Thank you 😊
