  2. sounds good . Thanks for the info
  3. Is that down Madapatha road ?
  4. The article says "An international Go Cart track will also be opened in Piliyandala in the near future". Does anyone know whereabout Piliyandala this is ?

    Pulsar Vzr N1

Hi All I'm looking for a VZR / N1 workshop manual. Does anyone here have one or know where I could get one? cheers.
  7. Mate the next time you're in SL, you should hook up with some of the local racers. If you're down in SL for christmas this year, you'll get to meet local riders at the colombo night race. In the mean time, would love to see photos / videos of you in action at the circuit (not street shots). cheers
  8. very nice !!!
  9. even if my R1's gone over 25k kms, I recon its still not going to have any power drops. Yes I figured that your model of R6 doesnt have the exup. which makes it peakier. However that doesnt label the whole range of motorcycles in the brand (Yamaha) as faster wear on the their engines. Btw, all 600s peak at 16k+ rpm range. Good luck mate cheers http://www.bikepics.com/members/shameedperera/
  10. Thank you for your valuable comments bkr6 My R1 has run approx 18500kms so far. Its never been ridden on the road. Its a race spec bike. & its been on the dyno recently & still shows the same hp figures it showed 3years ago. (I got the bike in 2006) Based on your argument, I'd say the internal wear also depends on the fuel mixtures , type & viscosity of the lubricants used & the way the bike is ridden. Not whether its carburated or fuel injected. I beg to differ on your claim that yamahas tend to wear out faster due to their peak power output at higher rpms. It all depends on how the bike is tuned & once you put the bike on the dyno, the power delivery curve will show it. Those who remove the exup unit, end up making their engines peakier, while those who retain the exup unit will find that their power delivery is smooth & balanced. Its not whether you race it or just ride it on the road. By the looks of it your R6 doesnt seem to have an exup unit, which means your engine is obviously peaky. This is how you've based your opinion on all yamahas wearing out faster than other brands. cheers
  11. Looking at the blkr6's post, I'm wondering when my 99'R1 is going to start losing horsepower too LOL
  12. Where in Colombo? To the best of my knowledge its owned by a guy in Kandy. Also, The Ducati 1198 we talked about, has a new owner, since of late. I guess u would've got that info by now, since the previous owner is yr friend
  13. Machan, There is a new blue colored Triumph Daytona 675 in Kandy. It used to be in Negombo for a while. I'm not sure if you're referring to the same bike If you're .. it isnt lost. I saw it 3weeks ago.
  14. ok cool I stand corrected Yes I saw it in Dehiwala. I know him.
  15. I gotta agree with you on this I've ridden a couple of Ducatis .. they're good bikes by their own standards, but no way can they beat Jap bikes on performance. ... Even at the top of the game .. Just look at how Rossi is struggling. He has openly said that the Ducati is very hard to turn into corners. We all know he is comparing to his previous rides with Yamaha & Honda.
  16. I've seen this bike in the flesh ... Someone I know brokered the deal. I've even seen the bike while it was stripped down & being put together. What impressed me the most was the Termignoni Exhaust system. Very expensive & quite a performance enhancement for that bike Having said that, the whole bike was pretty impressive although I'm not much of a Ducati fan
  17. Hey we all did stuff like this during our younger days. One day when we meet in person, I'll share some of my personal experiences too . You will laugh when you hear them. Since the NSR has a V-twin engine where the bottom cylinder is pretty much very low, we would generally use a hotter plug for that cylinder. For example, if the top has a NGK B10EGV plug .. the bottom would have to be a B9EGV. Also the carb main jets will have to chosen accordingly. Otherwise, you will always come across the problem of the bottom cylinder dying out .. especially during town running, where you cant open full throttle. This is a common issue .. but if this was not the case in your bike, then it must've been an issue with the PGM-II unit on 89'NSR. I think the TZR150 is a thailand / malaysia based model. I has a different 125 based chassis with that extra 25cc on the engine..Very quick indeed
  18. I used to ride around on my cousin's NSR250 MC21 .. it had a HRC ignition kit with wire harness, HRC carb upgrades , HRC exhaust. It was awesome on power. An absolute blast to have ridden one But although the TZR is slightly down on power, it has better overall performance. Btw mine is the "rear straight exhaust" version .. aka "front carb" It doesnt have so much of that horrible high pitched engine sound & also the smoke clears out after the engine has warmed up. I'll upload a few pics on FB, once I've got it up & running, after this weekend
  19. Bro .. even my R1 comes out of the house only when a race is near & I'd need to get back in touch with my riding technique. Until then it just stays locked in my room. Btw .. my TZR250 is literally "kota uda" But I bought new parts. Fixing it up this weekend .. cant wait to ride it. Well let me know, once u decide
  20. Bro ..what do you mean kota uda ? are they seriously not in running condition anymore ?
  21. Hi All Wow .. looks like there're more bikers now than my last visit to autolanka. Unfortunately, I dont have a road bike nor an off road bike, hence I wont be able to join anyone on road trips & so on. But I do trackdays on my bike & it would be lovely for anyone you guys to join up on a trackday. Perhaps the pannala circuit is a good venue. cheers PS: a pic of my humble ride is attached herewith
  22. Hi All, I'm looking for VZR conversion kit (Engine, gearbox, Complete electronics ..etc). Could anyone please help me find one. Thanks
