  1. Even the rear pic would have reminded you of a Nissan. I was actually waiting for someone to mention the Wingroad after seeing this
  2. That is a cool rear end right? A bit of Cube design elements here, also it coulld be something they didnt change from the concept car. But then again the front is forgettable. Saw a review by hubnut and that thing had a full sunroof from front all the way to the back.
  3. Think son think, what other mainstream model had this kind of a grille at the front and you could say it has another design element in the V shape.
  4. Would you like to go ahead and give the proper answer and take the quiz forward? The biggest different between the two (leave aside the badging and the brand specific face) was the side wave design.
  5. It was Sathyajith who posted it way back.
  6. No no it was the Gen 1 of the other brand I posted, didnt know about the existence of this model in Sri Lanka till last week.
  7. Something interesting for you guys then. You can have a festival inside one of these. This is second generation of this particular model. This particular model is based on a competitor model and uses the engines from that brand. I particularly like the rear of the generation one version as it looks very futuristic. I know of one available in Sri Lanka. The front on pic I have purposefully left to identify the brand.
  8. Mitsubishi iMiev / i kei car. I presume what you saw was a EV version.
  9. Also Pajero was called the Shogun in Europe I think. I still remember this getting beat by a Diesel Defender in the Trucks T&J upto 3500cc open category 😁
  10. A new one around the corner is it? Interesting vehicle that I havent given much attention to though it has been around in the local racing scene.
  11. A guy advertises a mileage blocker on the quick site saying that his device blocks the vehicle mileage from changing on the odometer. Is it legal to advertise stuff like this?

I also found the ad. Must be illegal right? I don't think these are included in Motor Traffic Act of Sri Lanka but they must be amended. I found a website called "Super Kilometer Filter", the same thing, made in Germany.  Says it even can change ECU to reflect the same number when scanning or any thorough inspection.

In the US, tampering with a vehicle's odometer is strictly illegal under the Truth in Mileage Act of 1986.

      Seems illegal in the US.

Even if its not illegal one should be ethical enough to stay away from advertising, it is like giving a knife to a monkey and everyone will start using these. If you are a true enthusiast you will never use a gadget like that.

Sadly the result of a mindset that believes low mileage cars (even if that's crap) are the ones to consider, not the cars well maintained and looked after even though they got a big number in ODO.

  12. I remembered we had one here, yes so this is the Toyota Auris NRE185H, the local car was sold as an anniversary model. Those stickers and all looks very aftermarket, I dont think its original.
  13. OT; I think if it were to ever land in our shores we will have a lot of fun with the name after it is translated to Sinhalese, I know of one individual who will have a field day with the name.
  14. They placed the car right there in front of the Lego logo, maybe got Lego thinking of making a Lego out of it.
  15. I think you have perfectly taken that photo with the red toy brand logo top middle. 😁 Product placement?
  16. Hmmm thats a bit of an interesting model. One of the fastest turn around times from concept to sales. Its been given to another company to manufacture maybe to reduce cost. "Pinninfarina" has been designing Chinese models for sometime, but this is more or less a copy of a Defender / Santa Fe / Yangwang.
  17. Since no one has given an answer, any chance of a clue to keep it rolling
  18. Try German Tech, City & Guilds and also D*MO - DATS school. There are other places as well but these are very much recognized. Mechanics are in demand these days specially in Sri Lanka as all the experienced people have gone abroad. There is also good number of opportunities abroad as well.
  19. There you are, take the floor @amsandun. Suzuki is more Japanese than you think, its a shame that it is associated with the Indian models since the Indian models dropped the Maruti part from its name. There are more Toyota's branded Suzuki in India and other parts of the world, including the Corolla. If you still didnt get it after @iRage's clue "Let to believe it is still the Star" you should be shot
  20. The newer version of the car that you missed (pic2) is also rebranded as a Toyota with a name plate which had been dead since 1999. Nope the 2nd pic is not of a Primera, the discussion is more or less about who copied who in relation to the two pics I posted. Primera part was off topic.
  21. Just so that you get what @iRage says, he means the other car which @amsandun couldnt guess. BTW @iRage who copied whom? I remember when I had the P11 a customer said that it looked like a BMW when I visited his home. And sure enough there is a bit of a Hoffmeister kink in the Primera rear window, and the overall look from side on looked very European. OT: I remember I had paper adverts of them old cars and the Primera ad had the German, UK and Japan flags. Japanese and UK flags I can imagine but the German flag do you remember what it was about?
  22. Yes you got the first one right, BMW E39 it is, as you rightly said it came in Sedan and Station Wagon form and they were manufactured from 1995 - 2003, although development started two years ago. What about the other one?
  23. Mind if I go ahead? I will take this opportunity and post something different. Posting two tail lamps from cars from the 1990s. One of them came in two guises (body styles) and the other came in three guises. One was produced from 1995 - 2002 and the other 1995 - 2003. I expect the answer to have the make model and model code. Should be interesting.
  24. Did you clean the throttle body and intake as well. Also check on the Air flow sensor and Oxygen sensor.
  25. Was bored and did this again. Before and after adding my touches to the old Samurai! Wherever you are my old friend here's to you!
