I would stick with the prado any day.. Had a intresting chat with Milindu at the YesFM GYmkhana.. regarding the Prado and mine has been all over the country in stock form with only slightly larger tyres thatn stock and i and my dad have given it quite a rough time over the last four years and touch wood it is fine... and i mean if i had doen that in amonty i would have been up shit creek without a paddle.... and even the interior hold up much better than the interior i have seen on 4 yr old monty's.. anyhow this is just a user experience.. however i will say that the 2.7L Prado which is what i have.. serioulsy lack power... and i mean seriously..

MAchan will you be coming by any chance, my dads being saying he wants to run so i will be there around three? Any of the SR pack coming?

Thats what i was thinking man.. right before the fron of the prado satrting sinkinf, he drove away after that htough casue i think me and my buddy infringed on his 'hydraulic space'
-
Yes, you are right, i managed to get the prado well and truly stuck there( Japan Frriendship road) with the left back wheel in the air and then i had to wait for a good two hours because the first truck that came to pull me out got stuck trying to do that. and no one even bothered me. NO army NO police and the back enf the jeep was visible to the road But i did manage to to disturb a couple who were making a N16 bounce like it had hydraulics

Dunno, why but the back reminds me of the the new camry, the front reminds me of the latio crossed with the G35 sedan, not very appealing even to me and i am am a die hard to the bones nissan fan, will never but otherwise unless i am utmostly forced to do so... peri can confirm this... oh amd max you probably are right about the SR20VE issue because once on parliament road, i was taunted by what i thought was a no go bluebird who pulled away from me like a bullet out of a gun when i tried to pass him and i my throtttle was wide open as well... damn was that bad.. my eyes nearly popped put of my head especailly cause it was not a well maintained car.. pieces falling of, bumpers hanging and so on... well.... learnt my lesson from my days of being a traffic rat..

Hi duncan, Thanks for the quick reply, it was fortunate that you told me about the new model due in '07 beacuse our moronic agents had no idea that it was due, they simply said no new model sir... disgusting.. anyway. i do buy brand new hope it wount set me back too much, because the agents offered me 8.5 mill for my prado, its done 35,000km now and will do probably 40,000 by the end of the year, i think its quite a good deal, as i bought it under our old tax regime and payed the vance couple of days before the tax hike therby i paid 6.6 mill and two days after i paid my advance it was valued at 8.8 or something, so i saved a lot and am actually making a profit after using it for two years. but it look like taxes are gonna go up in the near future and new prado with the 4.oL V8 plant is 14.0mill here b\new.. so i am wondering what the 4.2L cygnus will cost, its becoming a bit worrying cause i love the Cygnus and have wnated one all these years, plus duncan i will have to get a petrol engine one and with our fuel prices going through the ruddy roof... maybe its not that viable but, then the nissan pathfinder looks good and have yet to see one here... gonna check on those prices next week... duncan point of reference, Discovery Series 3 - 17 Million Rs Range Rover 4.6 HSE - 25 Million Rs Porsche Cayenne Turbo - 28 Million Rs ( dont even ask me about the Turbo S) this are the trends in prices and these are all for petrol engines the diesels are double the effective tax on these vehicles. hope you get an idea of what a rip off it is...
-
dunno man, its just not worth 9.8 million....
-
Well i own and drive a 2005 Toyota Prado, i think the reason for the 2.7L is due to tax reasons though i am not sure... As for the stop start it tends to happen whilst in traffic, had a diesel prado and a 2.7L santa fe before and both these could get off in second no prolems at all. anyway thats a driving style issue so faorgwt that.. since this dude wants to buy it here, the probability of him using it off road in next to nothing.. thereby off road prowess is off no use , on road behaviour is what counts, and trust me on our bumpy roads sitting in the back of this thing is extremely uncomfortable. So like you said it probably is capable off road, but as luxury vehicle i would say a big NO. plus its 80,000US$, thats crazy for a luxury vehicle with limited options and an uncomfortable ride... I am looking forward to selling my prado by the end of this year, and hopefully can get down a Toyota Cygnus.. any comments on this jeep Duncan, Thanks

well firstly the 2.7l 4 pot 16V engine is a lump of sh*t , after 4000rpm its like a dead donkey, on stock settings you cant move the jeep forward even an inch on second gear and even firat gear gradients are somewhat of a struggle, second gear stop start gradients result in clutch smoke... attribute this to the fact that the bosy is way to heavy for the engine.. wen you opent he engine compartment, there is enough space to slot another engine in.,, mind you i have a toyota prado though with the same engine, but i drove a fortuner the other day and its not comfy even the prado is not compared to some of the other jeeps i have had or been in.. very hard suspension plus its not very stable on bumpy roads at high speed or siad differently it tends to bounce alot and since it has long supension travel you feel like your being throwm towards the moon... plus fortuner is auto it has 2 channel ABS drum at the rear.. and limited options.. ie not a lot of car for 80,000 US$

gosh, this takes hondaism to a whole new level.... effing unbelievable man... at a loss for words... seriously.. peri hope u can fill in my blanks..
-
how exactly, please explain... from my point of view a millionaire goes more for image and that is one thing we all know the NSX lacks except in the case of our die hard honda fans where the image has already been created in their heads, if i and i am betting many others had that kinda of money i would go for a cayman, there is no way i will buy a honda, NSX or not... when you spend that much money you expect attention...
