Difference Between Low Profile Tires And Other
JadeyBlitzen replied to seejaylk's topic in General Automotive
it IS! thats nearly 10kg for the wheel alone. mine are 7.3 each and i feel even thats too heavy for their size. anything around 5kgs would be ideal. its better to stick to 15"s for a car that size. i believe it makes a noticable difference. i adviced a friend to shop for lightweight wheels and he ended up fitting 5kg wheels to his 121. his car weighs 80 kilos more than mine but when we run i can't seem to shake him off even though we got the pretty much the same engine setup and almost similar gear ratios. and he confirmed the car feels quicker after the wheel swap. -

totally! even if the biggers wheels only weigh a coupla kilos extra at each end it affects the performance quite a bit thanks to the increased rotational mass and inertia. usually the theory is the increase in rotational mass is 10 times higher as opposed to fixed mass. so if you get wheels that weigh 5 kilos to replace ones that weigh 8 at each end on a 4wd car like an impreza that's similar to a weight reduction of 120kgs. -
of course its not. especially not when the filter is worth more than the car itself

I couldnt be anymore positive about the acting either. especially the bit after 1.16. looks cheaply made. I think they spent all the money developing the end titles

4.1 Subwoofer For Car Audio???can I Do This>>>?
JadeyBlitzen replied to riddle's question in General
dont bother. the acoustics inside a car is different to what you may get in your living room due to the odd shape and all the things that get in the way. so its better if you just get better speakers and install them where they are supposed to be. -
1st one looks great! if not a little too boxter-esque at the back I hate the nose on the 2nd one. probably some artist's impression. and it looks even more boxter like.

I'll give 2 causes for such accidents. 1. Our main roads are not even everywhere and can turn bumpy at the most unexpected places. so they are not capable of accomodating such speeds. 2. I have absolutely no faith is most of these drivers. its almost as if they totally rely on their siren to clear traffic and pedestrians and keep their foot buried to the floor. There are ways to drive fast through traffic and I know this kind of training is given to most purpose trained drivers in security forces. but i got serious doubts if all drivers of such vehicles possess these skills.

even i got the same sh*t from my loud mouthed friends. at the end of the day what matters is your individuality and what you believe in. I would still light them up when i'm feeling crazy enough. its the practicality and some social issues thats holding me back

Grounding Wire Kit For 1nz And 2nz Engined Cars.
JadeyBlitzen replied to JadeyBlitzen's topic in TOYOTA
I took the car out on weekends when the roads were somewhat empty and it seemed as if i was getting close to the 13 km/l mark (my personal best is 11 something in town). and then last thursday my friends drove it around at full throttle and used up most of the fuel. however when i was filling up i realised i've still achieved around 10 km/l. could say it was mostly due to my driving but i'm sure the less sluggish take offs are surely helping. -

I oughta forge a career out of this -
isn't IOC safe from this? as soon as i came home y'day i went to the IOC station in Indigahamula junction on kandy road and filled up. there was no queue whatsoever unlike the few hundred yard long queue i saw in kadawatha.

Grounding Wire Kit For 1nz And 2nz Engined Cars.
JadeyBlitzen replied to JadeyBlitzen's topic in TOYOTA
Its been exactly 3 weeks since i added my grounding kit. and i've covered around 300 kms since. So the ecu's had enough time to get used to the changes and I know i'm not crazy but the take off and throttle response is a lot sharper now. Its not just me. my friends say when they touch the accelerator it leaps forward a lot more than they expect. So thats 1000 rupees well spent i'd say one word of advice though. this only really work if your car is old and has built up some resistance in the system over the years. if you car is new and not flakey you will notice little or no difference whatsoever. -
I'll let someone else post cos i'm kinda busy with some assignments. speed freak can take it if he likes. cos he seems be pretty eager to post here

well that equates to around 13km/l. like i said this guy has a heavy foot. so 13 km/l for a car driven hard isn't bad at all. yes

i drove one yesterday. and it pretty much won me over. i was comparing it with altos marchs and vitzs mostly. and it seemed to offer a fine compromise between them. it was a pretty short drive and i managed to explore most of the engines character. and i must say i was pretty satisfied with it. i even spun the wheels at one point. however the clutch and the gearchange was a bit on the heavy side. and 6 footers will find it difficult to get behind the wheel. but overall it was pretty spacious. and my friend who owned the car said it costs less than 10 rupees a km. not bad at all for someone with a heavy foot. and he's totally satisfied with his car. mind you, he also owns a supra tt. so if its good enough for him it should be good enough for anyone.

as a neon veteran i'd like to add my 2 cents here. this was many years ago and it was during the height of the neon craze. i thought it was cool (i was pretty young too) and slapped on some 15 feet of blue neons on my car for the princely sum of 12000 rupees. according to s*n l*nka that was the most amount of neons they fitted to a single car back then, which is something to be proud of, if you are the kind of person who goes mad over neons. anyway it was fun to watching people breaking their necks trying to bend down and figure out what the hell the cars floating on. but then it attracted the wrong sort of attention as well. I usually get some peace and quiet at night. but whenever i switched on the neons (yes, i was smart enough to install a switch) everything from tuk tuks to trucks were racing me. not to mention the cops. who always found it the best thing to point their radar at. or just randomly stop me and give me boll*cks. and when i switched it off for a moment of peace i would wish that i had it switched on, mostly cos that would have made the girl i just drove past look at me (and possibly wonder how short i am in the trouser department, which didnt quite occur to me then). then there was the pain of keeping them safe. neons give the best effect when they are around 5 inches off the ground. too high and it will look too dim. too low and it wont light up an area wide enough. mine were just 4" off the ground and i would wet myself everytime i approached a small unevenness on the road a little too fast. i've lost a total of 13 feet of neons during those tiny "calamities". finally i grew up and stopped switching them on, and of course replacing them. hope you guys learnt something from my experience. if you didn't here's the bottom line. don't do it!

Grounding Wire Kit For 1nz And 2nz Engined Cars.

that proves why newer/less used cars don't show that much of an improvement when grounding wires are fitted. this was questioned in the link i posted. -

then how about we run a few wires to the injectors as well? -
Grounding Wire Kit For 1nz And 2nz Engined Cars.
JadeyBlitzen replied to JadeyBlitzen's topic in TOYOTA
alright guys. i took the car out today. i didn't notice a big difference in throttle response but the gears were shifting super quick. i drove it down green path at full throttle a few times and it seems to gather speed a lot faster because of the faster shifts. even the horn sounds a bit louder now. i would like to think even the fuel consumption has gone down a bit cos i covered 40 kms today and with all those runs down gp the fuel gauge still shows a pretty healthy reading compared to what i started with. overall i'm pretty pleased with the results and i'll report on any surprises to come. as for the throttle response. i hope someone who added such a kit to a manual car could comment on that
