Damn it!! Now this is the 2nd time that i missed a Mini event in & around Negombo!

It's a 1980 model is questionable coz the production of the E30 started form 1984. Anyway give-up the idea on this. The Mini is a good choice! Have seen many of them advertised so you shouldn't have a prob in getting a good one.

What is the manufactue year of this?? is it 1990?? This would have been used by a person who has no care for vehicles which is why there is a Jap engine in it. If you really like an E30 better hold on for a while until you can get reach about a 800k budget so that you can own a decent one.

I would recomend you to stay out of this. Once these cars are messed-up it is extremely difficult to put them back to what it should be. The total wiring in the car would be messed if it has under gone a Jap engine swap. Also for the owner to fix Jap engine into this you may never what else would have been done under the metal. There are plenty of good looking E30's around, but try to go for genuine one which is in original condition. Sometimes they may have small things to be done (do not forget that these are almost 2 decades form manufacture).

You will need to keep a good alert coz 2 door interplay hatch's are not that common & won't come-up for sale frequently. As a vehicle it's awesome to drive, no regrets! The DOHC 1500 does better than you'd expect. Decent on fuel & part availbility is good as well.

How about the Mazda familia sportback/wagon. looks good too.

Yup, Planning it for this April holidays. sometimes may be earlier. the Gampola Nuwareliya road is great! The Ramboda area is the best. here is a pic of that tunnel Just one more pic captured on the way to Beragala from Bandarawela.

I love that road from Ginigathhena upto Nuwaraeliya. Also not to forget the cahin of roads heading towards Maskeliya/Sripada from hatton, not the best in condition though. One more is the laxapana road which you can reach dikoya after passing 2 small beautiful reservoirs. Need to go on the road form ratnapura to bandarawela. Didn't get the chance after it was done-up.

Yup, these are 4 pot 1.5L DOHC engines.

There is a similar unit in the Mazda Interplay's. It is connected to the air filter box & runs into a dead end over the radiator, i was curious to know what this unit was about but no one was able to calify it for me. Sorry, i don't have the pic of the engine bay to post it to make it easy for some explanation

The Carina Si will be a good buy. Has good value retention as well. Btw do you have a preffered brand to go with??

The Mark 2 is a good car overall & much better than the Allion. Not sure if the 2L straight six engine is the same as in the Altezza. You can get one for better price than a Allon. How about a 320D?? It fits in to your criteria except for the YOM.

This seems similar concept used by Speedo for swin wear. Even Speedo used a specially treated material for Olympic swim wear to reduce the drag. This too was called Fastskin. Wonder if the cost or durability that would be pushing this form coomercializing.

The 323 Hatch parts are available. There 2 dedicated Mazda part importers in Panchikawattha. My brother owned an interpay hatch & we didn't have any issues with parts for it. I didn't come-accross any Interplay hatch for sale recently after i missed the red one in Kohuwala. I do not have experience withe the the MX3 to comment on it.

The V6 is 1.8l right?? Heard about this but never got the chance to take a look at the engine bay of one. The 4 pot DOHC is the same shared with the Interplay & Astina.

Try to get a Mazda 323 Interplay hatch. Bit hard to find one in decent condition. Its a good car overall.
