  1. 23 lks for a 1990 manufactured Hilux is bit too much I guess. I bought a 1996 (58-xxxx) one couple of months ago for 22.5. Actually owner was asking for 24.5 and managed to negotiate. It's in very good condition and running for couple of months without issues(Only one off road trip so far though). I'm very happy with the performance, but as others also mentioned it's bit bumpy since all 4 leaf springs. But I'm ok with it as there're no complains from Wife or Mom ;-) ~sanjaya
  2. 10 is normal in City limits. I drive the same model. It does around 10 (with A/C) in city limits. Does around 13-14 in outstations.
  3. Auction grades. http://www.japanesesportcars.com/marketplace/auctions/grades.php ~sanjaya
  4. I've got a Suzuki Ignis service manual. Just drop me a mail to [email protected] if you want it, will upload it somewhere so you can download. Thanks ~sanjaya
  5. I bought a EOS 500D last month with 18-55 lens, 4GB memory and lens cleaning kit for 75K from ebay. But I've shipped it to friend of mine's place at US and he brought it down for me. (It's not because of tax, but I wanted the camera in one piece , not sure whether our custom handles those stuff carefully) ~sanjaya
  6. If you're coming from Pettah(by bus) get a 120 bus. IIRC you have to get down halt after Sampath bank City Branch. Always careful you don't have to go through anyone, just follow the procedure :-) Sometimes people might come to help. (Like in passport office and RMB) ~sanjaya
  7. FYI http://www.dailymirror.lk/index.php/news/3...ts-banned-.html This article was in today's paper, so no more tinted glasses for front it seems :-) ~sanjaya
  8. Yes they do. I got to know yesterday that the other person working in that garage is the owner of that garage. His name is Dilan Adikari, who placed 4'th in Group SL-A Cars Upto 1050 CC, foxhill last year. He was running a charade. This time he's going to run a Mitsubishi minica Dangan this time :-). Thanks ~sanjaya
  9. Name of the garage "Bulumulla Service Station" (Opposite to the tea center in Kiribathkumbura junction), his name is Nimedha. He lost his phone yesterday, will post his number once he gets a new one :-). ~sanjaya
  10. Finally I think I've decided what to buy (Depending on the recommendation from uncle who owns a garage ). It's a Daihatsu Charade GTti Turbo (Patrol, 1987). Thanks a lot everyone for your comments and thoughts. ~sanjaya
  11. I heard this from many, even the mechanic I bring to check vehicles recommends a starlet. I've checked few starlets and charades, so far the best choice seems to be a charade. (Among the ones I checked, according to the mechanic). Anyway will check few more days before buying. Thanks in advance ~sanjaya
  12. Agree with you miniace. The main issue is Minis are expensive these days :-( For my budget (5K-6.5K max) it's hard to find a one in good shape. Or rather I couldn't find a good one for that price :-). So far the best one I found was Daihatsu charade 1.3 EFI, 1990 model. (6.5K after negotiating). Anyway still I haven't confirmed it yet, if I can find a Mini in good shape for that price, of course I'll consider it buying. Thanks in advance ~sanjaya
  13. Buying this for regular usage, so being good on fuel is a must :-). I owned a mini, but the one I owned was not in good shape (Anyway I still doubt whether it's a good car to use as the first vehicle :-). (But of course I love it, will buy one for sure on a one fine day :-). Starlet NP70 and Charade G100 seems to be better options. Checked out few Charades. There's a Charade Egg Shape (64- diesel) 1000 CC one for 5.5 lks. Is it reliable? Specially for long distance running. There's another 1.3 EFI 1989 Charade for 6.5 lks. Still haven't decided what to buy. Most probably I have to decide one from those 2 cars if I couldn't find another one during next week. Highly appreciate your comments, advices. Thanks in Advance ~sanjaya
  14. Unfortunately that car is sold :-( I planned to check it out during this weekend, but he sold it during last week :-(
  15. Even if I buy a Ford laser Tx3 (1986) I should be able to join right? Any comments on that car please.
  16. Does that means Ford laser Tx3 not good? Most friends of mine told that mazda parts are compatible with ford. Is that true? Actually the car I'm talking about is not that expensive. Here's some pictures. Thanks in advance
  17. Highly appreciate your comments. I have to agree with you, I've asked from many and they said corona is not good on fuel. It's hard to find a Doctor Sunny for 650K and I don't like Trad sunny :-). A small hatch back car would be within my budget. Any recommendations? (Daihatsu Charade, diesel or patrol?). Found a ford laser Tx3 (Friend of mine owns it, he might be in this forum too) 1500cc, A/C, Power Steering, Alloy Wheels. It'll be around 350K-400K. I'm not too sure about the availability of parts and fuel consumption on that. If there're Ford/Mazda experts please comment :-) Thanks
  18. Found a Toyota Corona 1989 model (registered in 1990, Full option, 1500CC) for 600 K. Is it worth buying and does anybody have idea about the fuel consumption of that model? Thanks in Advance
  19. Hunting for a car between 500K-650K. Is Honda CRX 2nd Gen under my budget? If so can anyone help me out finding one :-) If I can go for a better option than that please comment, this is for a daily runner. Thanks
