Honestly, you probably have a better idea than the avg person here, as you have more access to diverse sources of information.

that was from the old day, before devinda discovered how to spell j/k

I'm probably the last person to ask about cars here.. but if you are looking for good cornering abilities, shouldn't you be investing in suspension? plus good tyres? As for acceleration, I think you already have vtec, that plus a CAI should give you some high revving fun? Also, I don't recommend accelerating around corners here.. roads are slippery, pot holes, maniac drivers who overtake in blind bends.. etc.. The last thing you want to do is hit some bumbling pedestrian and end up in jail for the rest of your life. Erm... dude.. racing around public streets is against the law, and hazardous to other people/vehicles. Please DON'T do this. If you want to compete, please do it in a closed off drag strip or racing track. Please, don't be another statistic - I hope the more mature people here will back me up on this one. When you go racing around not only do you endanger your life and others, but you make it hard for ordinary motorists because the cops start going nuts and harassing everyone who drives anything that looks like a sports car to them So, please, please do not race around the streets. I'm sure there are some racing tracks in SL, use those, don't endanger ordinary people

Just a suggestion - the vehicle you are going to buy will be quite old. So BEFORE you go about modding it, you should first get it up to spec - this means getting the suspension done, brakes, etc etc, all major components checked, serviced, replaced if necessary. take it to a good garage and get them to check everything and get the car fully roadworthy and into good working condition. (this goes without saying but) you will need new tyres, clutch, battery, etc (and most likely radiator, dampers, wheel bearings, whatnot) After that you can always try cosmetic and other mods. Honestly, a proper working eg8 is a good car.. why would you want to add more power to it? its powerful enough as it is. Anyway, good luck to you and let us know how it goes. Also, why don't you consider going online and learning a bit about the car.. the engine, what technology it uses etc...

By the way, for anyone who wants a cheaper alternative for iridium, NGK has a platinum plug (I've forgotten what its called, I think it's called G-power), its quite cheap, has a tiny point, and lasts quite a while. If I remember, the price was quite cheap, I recommend these for anyone who wants to try.. vs buying Iridiums which give 99% the same performance at a much higher price. Odd story - all my tests of higher performance plugs on my car yeilded poor results.. Could be because my car is ancient/mostly stoneage technology... but honestly the best results I ever got were with cheap NGK plugs - the type which have that V groove or something. WIth both iridium and platinum I had rougher idling.

Thanks. Honestly, this sorta thing saddens me a bit. If this were any other country where theres infinite no of cars, then it's no big deal when people wreck them and they are consigned to a junkyard where they belong. What happens here is that when someone like this buys a car with the explicit purpose of wrecking it, they end up selling it in the paper described as 'carefully used by engineer' and some other person buys it and ends up having to fix all the mistakes the original user did... What to do.. this is one of those things like traffic or pollution that we just can't fix in our lives.. Anyway, anyone who buys a Honda eg8 kinda knows what they are getting int Personally, I shudder when I see some of these cars on the road. Not because there is anything wrong with these cars - they are wonderful machines - rather, because the people who drive them have sort of become a stereotype On an unrelated note, I owe you a photoshoot of your car really want to do that one of these days!!

Dude, honestly.. how's that working for you so far? Moving along.. If you wanna buy and rice up a Honda, there's nothing much we can do. At a later time in life, when you are smarter and more mature (assuming that happens) you will look back at this and cringe.. So, good luck to you, and may the Lord have mercy on your soul, and that of the poor Honda you get your hands on. Oh, and post a photo when you get it, so if any of us spot it, we know to get out of the way and stay clear of your awesomeness

Can you contact Pala auto? They have a remote service where they come to your home and check your vehicle..

AFAIK.. this is a 400mm f2.8, owned by Metropolitan Sri Lanka, I think

The point is that you can drive around slowly, quietly, following all the road rules and people can look at you and say "See that guy, he's driving an awesome powerful car, so politely, neatly, that's a real gentleman.." ??? While I agree that this thread is all in good fun and providing people here some comic relief, the idea of you getting a Honda, ricing it up, sexually assaulting it, and then charging around our streets is starting to sound a bit scary now. ps: Deffa is not a word. I know you are at the sms-speak stage of your evolution but, to the best of my knowledge, people here prefer intelligent, coherent, grammatically accurate arguments, where possible

Breaks Stopped Working All Of A Sudden - Back On Working In 5 Mins
Saturn replied to TharakaWi's question in Mechanical problems
When brakes failed... did the pedal behave differently? i.e. was it very hard or just like normal? If it was hard maybe the brake booster had a glitch?? In my car, sometimes if I pump the brake pedal a bit, brake boost goes down.. especially if the vehicle is idle.. Can you give a more detailed explanation of what happened, particularly the feel of the pedal? also what was the vehicle doing at the time? what gear were you on? how fast were you going? All the same, better take to a decent garage and ask them to check brakes. You can ask them to bleed the system I guess -
In Sri Lanka, the pedestrian is always right, and above the law. Also applies to tuktuks Actually, if you are in a car, no matter what happens, you are in the wrong

I guess these guys haven't been to any normal country and have no clue what the sign means..

Maybe you should contact that new Dumi##a chap. There are some people on the local scene who are famous for that type of body work

Buy a regular car and use the money you wanted to spend to modify it, on girls, so you can kiss them instead of the car. Believe me, its more fun that way.

Any sign of the swine flu in Sri Lanka yet? Usually we are the last on earth to receive anything new, this time I'm happy for that

Invest in a good bank, preferrably a reputed international one like HSBC - that way you know your money will be safe. HSBC have reasonable FD rates for rupee and foreign currency accounts (see hsbc.lk) don't convert foreign currencies into rupees as the rupee may be devalued in the future

Darn Its The Carburator Again! Help Please...
Saturn replied to megatron's question in Mechanical problems
Hi guys Apologies for butting in here.. but I have a similar problem. I have a mitsubishi with a 4G15 engine and the carb is mostly dead. Took it to the agents, they gave it a whack and had no luck. They did say they can get down a new carb for 140,000 which seems a tad on the high side. I tried with two other popular garages here, both tried cleanups with no luck, both said they can't find me a replacement carb either. If anyone knows a place which has one of these carbs on stock, please let me know Basically the carb runs lean usually, and on accelerating the engine loses power (not enough fuel) and the mixture get ultra lean.. the agents hooked up an exhaust meter and tried to tune it up a few times... no luck there.. when the carb is tweaked a bit it runs perfectly for about an hour then slowly returns to bad as usual @ original poster: theres a mechanic called mr. dharmasena who lives in wellampitiya.. hes an expert on Toyotas, especially old toyotas.. maybe you should see if he can fix your carb -
You are right, that's the wrong word for that, and I apologise.

Instead of taking it in a bag, try packing it in a sealed box with foam? - you can get a weather sealed box from canon for 4500, with silica gell and a hygrometer even - put the camera in the middle with thick foam all around, and hopefully if the bike falls, or shakes around no harm done. I'd say in theory better remove the lens and have the body separate, sheilded with foam, lenses also. You have 2 lenses right? so pack those in the same box with foam all around, and wrap the box in something soft, e.g. a towel, then in garbage bags.

being a booth girl, she probably has no idea what it is/how special it is most of the photographers who see that lens drool at it, not her, so she must wonder what the fuss is all about.
