There are plenty of cars in that range at http://www.autolanka.com/buy.asp If you are more specific about your requirements, forum members might be able to help u better. FB15s and AE110s aren't the only cars in the world.

Looks like a 2nd gen Prius. If I'm correct, somebody pls take my turn.

Genuine GN125 seems ok, although I've never used one. A sh*tload of them were given to cops and they were subjected to the usual treatment cops give to their bikes. Yet, many of them are still alive. Could be a testament for their quality.

Indeed. Economical, Simple, Smart and Easy Over to u...
-
Try again. That bumper design is pretty unique. Another hint: It's an Economical, Simple, Smart and Easy car.
-
Genuine Suzuki GN125 is also made in China in addition to that there are plenty of GN125 clones that come with virtually all two syllable words u can imagine. Which one are u considering?

5 years baby... 5 frickin year old topic!

well... what can i say. It's one of the very few JDM cars that can be bought for less than 2.0 million (unregistered) in Sri Lanka nowadays. That was the price I noticed few months back. Don't know if this one is also more than 2 mill now.

first up, why are u worried about the car getting broken down twice a week? the key is to get a one in good condition and get it inspected by someone who knows the stuff, before u go for it. With Gen2's you shouldn't have this kind of problems unless u pick up a lemon. A lot of internal components like the alternator for example, are from Mitsubishi, although Gen2 has a in-house developed engine. One more fact to consider, because u are living a bit away from Colombo - Gen2 has low ground clearance (so does D9 exec) compared to many cars. So pls check that too.

no. cube has a slightly different design on the bumper.

You idiot, read the whole sentence in context instead of seeing just the 1300CC part. 1300CC with 4 seats (4 people) picks up just about ok 1300CC with 7 seats (7 people) would be hopeless on pickup, even with VVTi (similar to 1000CC Belta with 4 ppl) comprende? @OP - The price I mentioned (~2.2-2.3mill) was for used ones which came to Sri Lanka around 2006/07. Some permit holders bought those and you might pick up a bargain from them. The new 1500CC version would be better on power and economy both.

Ok player... here u go

Finally hurled my a$$ over to the E01 over the weekend. Here's my take on it... 1. Heard a lot of comments about the lanes being too narrow... Well, imho they aren't. They APPEAR to be narrow because most of our idiots don't know how to drive in a lane. They tend to stick to the inner edge of the lane, afraid of scraping the guard rail. 2. Is driving on a straight line such a difficult task? Some of our drivers didn't seem to know how to drive a car on a straight line... or were not aware that they were drifting quite a lot. One Swift dangerously drifted towards me while I was attempting to overtake it. Had to blast the horn to wake the idiot up. 3. Many of our drivers don't know to keep a safe distance. Again, I had a tough time with a red 65- 320D which was tailgating too bloody close for comfort. Had to nearly pull over to the shoulder to let the idiot go... that was the last thing I expected from a Euro driver. 4. Allions, Hi Aces and Swifts appeared to be the vehicles to be cautious about. Nearly all the Allion drivers I encountered, probably thought that the right lane is reserved for Allions. Hi Aces aren't fast, although the drivers tend to think otherwise, so I really had a tough time whenever an idiot in a HiAce tried to overtake me. Swifts (Jeep Model) are a horror to be around. Very unstable at high speeds. There was one CE108, which was continuously hogging the right lane at about 80. To my happiness, saw him pulling over to the shoulder with the hazard light after a while. Hope his engine went bust. 5. Marutis and D*MO Battas... oh I love them. What a pleasure to be around. everytime I attempted to overtake one of those, they just moved over to a side and let me go. 6. At the entry points and exit points, the speed limit is 40, not 100. Hope our idiots realize that. 7. Quite a few road kill was visible. Oh well, that's nothing compared to the Kangaroos and Wallabies that you encounter in Aus. The only way to be safe is to be alert and keep a good distance. 8. My humble request from whoever is reading this... please please please make sure your tail lights are functioning before you enter the E01.

It's a 7-seated vehicle with a 1300CC engine. If you are happy with the speeds of a bullock cart, by all means go for it. Made in Indonesia and made by daihatsu. You can pick one up for around 2.2 -2.3 million I guess.

Mr. Expert, 406 = Peugeot 406 Gen2 = PROTON GEN2 Crosswind.

Just to confuse u more Tercel/Corolla II Hatch

Let me take the floor on Peri's absence. As far as Gen2 is concerned, the max u r going to get is 9 km/l. 7-8 is pretty much normal for a Gen 2. The car is pretty good in handling and comfort is in par with many Euros. Definitely better than the mainstream Japs in terms of comfort. For a well maintained specimen, you may need to shell out around 1.7 mill and you can get hold of a 2005/06 B/N import for that price. Spares are cheap and agent is alright. There is a guy I know who brings down Proton spares. His prices are ok. Can let u know the details if u decide to buy a gen 2. ALWAYS... I mean ALWAYS look for the 1.6 litre version Brand New imported one. Avoid the Singapore imported cars and 1.3ltr cars like the plague. A word of caution - recently, couple of finance companies auctioned off a number of Protons (Gen2, Impian and Wajas). Lot of baiyas bought them, so be a bit wary about cars that appear nice and shiny from outside. All in all, its a nice car to drive and own. A real eye turner. Having said that, I have a lot of respect for D9 Execs too. If I had these two cars as my options, it will be a tough decision for me. Good luck with your purchase.

Yes it's a misguiding reply. By looking at the model number of the engine, one can say whether it's a VVTI or not (as proved above). It's always a good idea to stay silent over matters that you don't know. Asking the OP to waste his time and money to take the car to a mechanic, just to inspect whether it's a VVTi, is wrong and misguiding. This is similar to a fake doctor prescribing antibiotics for any ailment.

Seriously? As a blue-collar worker with 50 years experience, is this the advice you give?

Just out of curiosity, how many cars have you owned in your whole life?

Where Can Find The Obd Port In Toyota Vitz 2000

Perodua Viva / Toyota Passo For Short Term Rent
Crosswind replied to Dharma65's topic in General Automotive
The only problem is the 25,000 budget you have mentioned. For that amount, you will probably find a 15-yr old car (in other words, Viva and Passos are out). For a Viva or a Passo, you may need to shell out about 35-40k per month. If you can live with them, you may be able to get a Proton Wira, Toyota AE110 (oldest model) or a Hyundai Accent for about 25-30.
