probably your wiring or the reverse gear switch is having a very minor current leakage. as terrabytetango suggested, adding a resistor would do the trick.

try changing the character encoding (tools->settings->system->convert big5 char to gb char -> enable). it worked for me. cheers.

true. but i think you can do customizations like adding preferred routes, missing roads, etc. so getting garmin to consider our one way roads could be possible...

machan install a later version. they have an option to change the character encoding.

i have v5.00.50. i think in previous versions u don't get this option. you can also put v5.00.60 but its known to be unstable.

just a quick headsup. at this time the police is stopping vehicles with tints infront of kurunduwatta (col7) police station. if u happen to survive with tints till this time, better avoid that route cheers

yeah machan i figured out that part later did some research on this gazette and its been discussed on police dept site faq (http://www.police.lk/divisions/tfaffic_faq.asp question 15). "Use of tinted glass are appended in Government Gazette 875/08 on 16.06.1995 and Gazette Number 1273/28 on 31.01,2003. If windscreen and the two shutters besides the driver are tinted It is an a offence. However 20% tinted glass could be used only on the top portion of the windscreen" damn it

yup its still active. yesterday (sunday) at about 11am my friend was stopped at the corner of dickmons rd / duplication rd for tints. his has to remove two front tints and show it to the police to get his license back. today morning at about 9am another friend was caught at negombo rd between seeduwa & airport junc. same story with the license. so beware. BUT, this leaflet is given to the customers by the tinting places now. it says the law was adjusted to allow 70% see through on front. im keeping a copy in the car so that i can argue coz for sure cops do not have meters to measure that. did anybody already try that out and got away without trouble? ~ elnino

though i dont recommend it, the cheapest solution would have been giving 500/= to the guy at emi test

power locks (u mean central locking right?) and alarms are two individual components. u can install an alarm without power locks and power locks without an alarm. installing both gives u mainly the remote locking option. look in the times paper (u no where), there are number of places who deal alarms. normally they quote for alarm system & central locking separately.

machan found this pic on da net. im not quite sure its a cbr 250 but looks quite a lot alike. my set up also looked da same have to double chk once i go home - the top small gear to the right is da starter motor spindle. so if i remove da cover it from this end i can put some thattu on it so it'll loosen out to the other site neda? and machan i only see oil everywhere. where are the coils??? may be they are attached to the cover? (or may be this is a wrong image altogether!) talking abt the machanics, ive had lot of bad experiences machan so decided to do everythin myself. ive found copper wires inside carbs, rubber washers inside spark plug holes... this n that.... very unprofessional. other thing is if i turn to a mechanic at dis stage he'll probably try to rip me apart saying uve done dis so have to replace that n u no hw it goes...

thx machan for quick replies. actually i think its da motor as harshan said coz to be sure i gave power off the jumper directly to the motor itself i mean not to the relay point, straight to the positive contact which is sitting on the motor. still it is turning slow. i have jump started it before and da motor runs like hell when powered via da car. my main worry is if i remove the cover on the left side (alternator cover), will oil spill? on the otherhand what use help will it do to remove the motor? will go back home today and try to pull it out one more time. my other worry is, if its this hard to get out, how da hell im suppose to put it back in???!

hi, i couldnt use my bike for couple of months and last weekend i tried to start it but failed. the problem boiled down to be a starter motor issue. here are the facts: when i hit the ignition switch i can hear the relay going thru a series of 'tak tak' sounds. so guessed the battery is weak and tried jump starting from the car. the motor slowly started rotating but was trying in vain. jumper cables started to get very hot. tried directly powering the motor by-passing the relay. same story. checked the cable from the relay to the motor. the grounding cable. everything is fine. then to make sure the engine isnt seized, i tried bump starting and woah it started after couple of tries! so started stripping out the bike to get hands on the starter. removed the carbs and the starter is there only fixed by two #10 bolts. removed those but its just stuck there. tried prying with a screw driver but no luck. as of the images i saw on the net this starter's ends has an oil seal kind of thing. so i suppose it is stuck with the block. or may be there is another few bolts fixed from the alternator end??? will i need to remove the alternator cover to get out the starter motor? im pretty scared to do that as i might run the risk of damaging the gaskets and stuff. also might run into an oil spill? some posts on the net says there is oil inside that chamber! any ideas guys? may be im not trying hard enuf to pull the motor? anyway it shakes a little bit like a tooth but not enuf to come out easily. i tried hammering it few times as well pls help.

out of da two, nokia x6 is rather the high end phone which comes with 32GB afaik. i bought da x6 16gb from mzone 2 weeks back. impressed! wel its my first ever touch fone. wz an SE fan all da way from T10 -> T610 -> K800 n then settled wit this nokia. comparing with 5800 i think it differs only wit the 5mp cam. but it got super looks. im in luv wit those sharp square shapes it got gps n ya it works well. im getting a windscreen mount from ebay soon. wat i miss is the keypad unlock feature by touch (like da iphone). dis 1 has a separate sliding button for it n im not used to it yet and imo it sucks.
