Did you guys hear the news Yatiyantota or somewhere in a co-op fuel station they have mixed Diesel with Petrol. They got caught red handed doing that early in the morning. According to the news they mix 200 litres of Diesel in to 13,000 litres of Petrol. More importantly they mentioned that this is just only one of the stations that does this as a practise. Can we escape the feeling that we are pumping pure Petrol or Petrol Diesel mix in to our rides even we pump fuel in Colombo.

I used a FB15 for more than 3 years, never had any major issue. 5kmpl is something you’ll really have to look in to in a FB 15 1500cc car. We did around 8kmpl in city. As Milindu advised get your censors checked, this could be the prime reason for such a high consumption of fuel. Cleaning air filters, spark plugs, Filters will help to improve bit more. What’s the brand of shocks that you used; KYB is a good brand & also check the other parts of the suspension as well.

Cerium Oxide is a pale yellow-white powder and we use this in the lapidary and Jewellery sector. This is also used to polish glass and spectacle lenses. This is one of the agents that they use in Windscreen polishing as well. Check with a Chemical dealer and try it on an unnoticeable corner first. But without the correct tools to buff, you’ll have to be very very patient with the job.

There are places that you can get this done. Clean P**k is one of them. There should be cheaper other places as well. After the scratch removal, use a good pair of wiper blades. If you can find cerium oxide that’ll do the trick.

It's a 2002 car, but SL reg is in 2005 guessing by the reg number. Yeah the car looks Good & the interior as well. Nicely kept. But when I was checking the engine bay found an empty liquid polish bottle stuck inside the engine, & the polish was poured every where. Must be the car sale guys’ negligence. Said he got an offer for 3.5m. But my offer was 3.2m. ............... What’s the power of the RS200 engine? Read somewhere the 3ltr could do 210bhp. Or should it be more? The guy @ the car sale was like “This is a VVTi engine, does an amazing kms per ltr”.

If you're refering to the KA-reg White Altezza.... It's a RS200 with a Beams engine. Asking price is way too much (3.7m) . And it's an auto. This is the engine bay of that Altezza

In my earlier car I had the same prob. The passenger side doesn't lock with the remote. It tries to lock with a Krrrr... sound, but doesn't. Took it to S*n La*ka. Just cost Rs.1000-1500.

In an event like this we’ll definitely need a head and a tail.... Head is a car or two that runs in the front making sure that NONE of the parade cars will run past them and the tail car to make sure that no one will be left behind. Otherwise some might wanna show off by driving like maniacs.

Rs.3000 as a bribe???.... And 1.30am doing 67kmph... they must be really A**holes. What If you challenge that you haven’t gone beyond that speed limit and ask them to prove it. As far as I know, then they’ll have to stop taking anymore readings and submit it to courts as proof. But doing that at 1.30 in the morning, I also would think 10 times with the crime scenes going these days. It’s better to get the ticket and pay the fine rather than paying 3000 for that bus*ard.

Because we hate guys who wants to sell their Japanese exotics. Over sighted those by mistake machan. Yeah, Alfa & Peugeot definitely should’ve been in the list. Don’t underestimate our AL members. There are Ferrari & Porsche wannabes in the list...

You don’t have to be hunting for a new to post your opinion. You must have some kind of a brand in mind as your next target. I’m also not hunting for a new one, but waiting for a good one to come. Definitely it won’t be a Hyundai, Honda, Toyota, Mitsubishi, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo, Jeep, Ferrari, Lamborghini or a Porsche. The options are another Nissan, Subaru or max a BMW for me. Suzuki might be another choice if I go for a small SUV.

If you decide to change your brand of vehicle, what would be your ideal next brand change. Or you’ll stay with the same brand (brand loyal). When you’re voting be bit realistic. Don’t vote for a Ferrari if you got a Maruti (Unless you’ve won a lottery recently). This could be a hint of your next change. Ok lets start with me.... Ideally it would be Subaru...
