    I drove to N Eliya, then to the top of Pidurutalagala and returned to Colombo with just over qtr tank still left in the tank. Full tank at LAUGFS Havelock and straight up Ramboda through Kandy and return via Kotmale. 2 Adults and luggage. averaged 16+Kms per liter. Plenty of Matara and back on the highway, with exactly half tank left. Wife uses a full tank for about 3 weeks with average Colombo running. Our Punto is a Petrol.

    Why a Diesel Punto? Go a for petrol one. 1400cc engine, down in excess of 10Kmpl in city driving with 17+ open road.

    That sounds like a loose guard panel or it could be a loose brake pad.... check your wheel wells, and ensure that nothing is loose and moving around in the boot space.

    What does the agent say? Normally for a brand new vehicle, there is an oil change in the first 1000Kms. I have read that ATF should be changed in the first 15000Kms too to get rid of the initial shavings off metal and clutch plates. Your best bet is to check with Stafford and ask them to recommend the best course of action. If you are still in doubt, I say best is to do all the changes at once for peace of mind.

    Many, and none of them are good. Better to invest in a vacuum cleaner, HP washer and quality consumables and DIY. ....and if the Oil story was told to you by the Manager in the CP at Thalwatugoda, I would say that moron is not the type who is capable of finding his own asshole in the dark even when using both his hands.

    Maybe, just maybe, I feel that your gauge is busted. Give it a direct supply and see if it does the full run. If all other factors are normal, stat, CTS, bets, pumps, radiator, etc.. that leaves a faulty gauge. and for the record, I am really not someone who pays attention to my rep points...

    No one is talking about he 3rd person who is suffering here... ME. I have to carry their junk to and from garages. No one cares about the abuse me and my poor Forester goes through. My boot carpet has enough oil to attract US attention. This is not fair. I need a thread all for myself to bitch about the Datsun rebuild and the physical and psychological toll it is taking on me and my Forester.

    I did tell you to get up early. ....and this fingering machine at your office... how does the ladies feel about it? Tell us more and elaborate pls.

    Fans should not come on as soo ans you start the engine unless AC is on. try this tomorrow morning, get up early... Start the car. open the hood, let it idle and see how long the car takes to come to normal operating temp. Then wait for the radiator fan to come on. It should come on about 5-10 mins of idling on a cold morning, if it is starting way too early, it could mean your stat is opening earlier. Or some other electrical glitch.
