  1. Fuel efficiency - AE 110 Ride Comfort - Sylphy they really are from two completely different generations however, hence the difference in cost... the Sylphy is the more modern car, and it is WAY more comfortable speaking from experience, so in the end its down to which is more important to you.... Milindu will be able to advise on the specifics of the models welcome to AL btw... hope you become a regular
  2. Anytime dude.... Cheers
  3. hey man sent you a mail.... hope it was useful cheers
  4. lotta questions to answer on a post mate.... tell you what, i'll drop you a mail either today or tomorrow with All the info you need, bit stuck at work right now... cheers
  5. hey mate.... just saw the pics of your car, had exams so i was off the forums for a while.... it looks pretty good i must say.... about the corrosion repairs, take a look at this link.... http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2212...mp;id=506251059 its an album of my car, which is being TOTALLY restored, my guy is pretty decent, i'll point you to him if you like... you can get an estimate then.... show it to a cpl of places and see... Cheers S_N
  6. Whoah man!! thats one heck of a big pic!!! to answer your question, this is a First generation (production ended in 1992/3) Saab 900 Convertible... and the sticker under the Saab Badge means it has probably been upgraded by Abbott Racing, the Uk's premier Saab Modifying Specialist... the Alloys too are not the standard ones, so this may confirm the fact Abbott modded saab's are rare even inn england, wonder how one got to Thailand....
  7. I dunno about MT Vtecs, but i DO know that the ordinary 1.5l Exi model that came to SL had a manual gearbox option which was pretty popular... My mother got one from office when the car was first launched.... in 2000 or 2001 i think, and even then her office alone bought 6 cars, all Manual Transmission Well about the model in general, i dont know enough to compare it to the EK Series beause i havent driven any EK's for any length of time, but we have had two ES8 in our family since it was launched (2001 manual and 2003 Auto, both brand new, Exi model) and i can say very good car.. to answer the general questions, Fuel Consumption (Actual Experience) - Manual, Colombo 9-10 Km/l, Outstation, 12Km/l Auto 6.5-7Km/l Colombo and 9km/l outstaition It rides extremely well for a car of the class, and also handles pretty tidily, though it's height compared to the Ek is a bit of a problem it grips pretty well. as for pulling power, it'll easily outrun any other car of the same category whether manual or auto, we made it once from matara to colombo on a saturday afternoon, in 2 hours and 15 minutes, with my MOTHER driving!!! so if you can stretch your budget, you should seriously consider the ES8, whatever model, it may not be as "cool" as an Eg or Ek, but it'll serve you better in the long run... plus, prices for ES8's havent been artificially blown up by their popularity, nlike the Eg/Ek! Hope this was useful Cheers S_N
  8. best not post them machan..... if poss however, please mail them to me as well [email protected]
  9. eerm, just wondering... which class would a NA Z fit into? super open?
  10. yep... OPEC and the Mahinda chintanaya! btw, does anyone know of the whereabouts of a 300ZX with the Reg no 301-6/8009 (6 or 8 not sure...) last i knew it was green with BBS Alloys and supposedly an autobox.... this car was sale in late 05 early 06 around the same time as devindas car (previous owner)... does anyone know anything about it?
  11. Actually, i think you'll find he already has.... "HI guys, I am a newbie to the forum & find it quite useful & interesting. Well i recently bought a 14Sri Mitsubishi (Colt Hatchback 1300CC of course not posh one ) indeed which is my first car" in his first post.. unfortunately, im not sure how to insert direct quotes here...
  12. I know peri ... I just couldn't resist showing off that Z.... I DO love that car.... WAY more than the owner does...heh heh
  13. Nice pics... but IMHO peri you got D_Z's car at an unflattering angle compared to clements, dont ya think? here are a cpl of shots i took..... obviously they arent of the same standard as peri's, but they make the car look good... The 2 seat configuration makes it look a tad bit odd from side on.... esp when you compare it to a 2+2....
  14. Join the club..... Many ppl have asked him that!! even more have called him stupid!
  15. ah.. fit... well if you just want to get the sound... there are a cpl of places you can visit... mail me on [email protected] and i can give you some leads.... Nexgen mate, i think hes just after the sound n possibly the look... so i don't think theres much point him spending on a branded muffler innit? best get one fabricated..
  16. FYI mate, there are only two dark colured Z's here... (That are known anyway) Clements car which is a dark purple that looks black at some angles... 301-8866 And devinda's which IS black.... and it has that rather unmissable Red Interior http://www.autolanka.com/ad.asp?ID=1843
  17. Theres only one Purple Z right? the funny thing is, Clements and Devindas cars also have similar numbers too....
  18. As to whether low profile tyres will give you the look you want, you'll have to explain the look you want first mate... why not post some pics of your ride so we can see it? this thread should inform you about exhaust mods (Beat Barrel) A "stock" car is a car that remains in its orginal specifications, as it left the factory, with ABSOLUTELY no mods.. http://forum.autolanka.com/index.php?s...;hl=Beat+Barrel Hopes this helped Cheers S_N
  19. The owner of that Z is not an active AL membr AFAIK...It belongs to Clement of Triple R fame... one of the few Twin turbos, with a manual box and launch thats apparently like being "kicked in the N***" according to someone whos been in it.... The 300ZX IS a fantastic car..... IMO better than the 35oZ's
  20. Thanks GTAm, and i figured you would definitely know what it's like....... but honestly, nothing chases the stress of a long day away like pottering around the garage watching them going about things and trying (usually unsuccessfully) to lend a hane
  21. Well I've been pretty silent on whats happenin with my pride 'n joy (for reasons that will soon become obvious:lol:) so here are some pics of the story so far for those of you who are interested... http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2212...mp;id=506251059 like any old car, the "bit" of work turned out to be a tad more than anticipated.... ah well, cant say i wasn't warned nuh...
  22. Awesome shak!! Congrats mate... glad you managed to get her after all!!1 more pics please
  23. err... u talking about lakshan? or mahasen? methinks you quoted the wrong post perhaps.... but agree 100%... it's always lovely to see a proper "gent" on AL.... sometimes you tend to think they are a dying breed....
  24. Continue by all means mate... no need to start another thread yet..
  25. Happy birthday dragster bro!!!
