As for the back seats, if you honestly think that they are "some of the most comfortable out there" then clearly you haven't sat in very many comfortable back seats. I've been in the back of a Prius and it really isn't any more special than the average jap box. But I guess since its a Hybrid and all it must have some extra special feature that makes it ultra comfortable to those who rush and buy them. Its a big, dumb truck with "proven" (read decades old) mechanicals that most any local johnnie should be able to fix (other than the common rail injection system, but then I suppose that could always be yanked out if you want to) A Million bucks cheaper too, sounds just about perfect for you.

I'm sorry, in what world is a 21 year old driving his daddy's Merc on a hikka run after a partying session considered to be "reaching the highest point in life"? Its not him that busted his gut working for decades to afford the 30-35 Mill that car costs now is it? Also, just beyond that tree that the car hit was a small house that housed a family of innocent people. If it werent for that tree, the Mercedes would likely have hit the house. In that situation, things would probably have been FAR worse. As I said earlier, while I have sympathy for the families of the deceased no amount of whitewashing can change the fact that the people in the car made some seriously bad decisions that triggered a fatal chain of events.

Getting work done there is several orders of magnitude less costly than the agents and they have direct parts imports as well. Anyway parts for VAG products are now available from a couple of different sources here, most anything you need can now be found.

While I have sympathy for the fact that lives were lost, it cant be argued that the whole situation was the result of a series of bad decisions on the part of the Driver and passengers. I mean seriously, open a window at 150kp/h to fish a bug off a windscreen??! Imagine if the car had hit innocent bystanders....
