i saw this and went WTF immediately... Dont get me wrong, i advocate seatbelts, always wear 'em where available myself, but what about the old cars? it isnt always easy to properly fit belts to them, for instance, how do you fit a 3 point belt to a car that has no B-pillar? naturally, nobody who wrote up this law seems to have thought of all that.

some other people swore that they saw a BLACK diablo around town a few years ago, i remember a few blokes being very fervent about it, saying "no machan im telling you, its the lastest diablo, with the glass headlights instead of the popups and everything!" Any guesses what they had actually seen?

Yes yes, I know....... but unfortunately most people tend to equate them when hunting within a certain budget.... anyway, IMO the standard primera is really a quite ordinary car, maybe a tad more solid than a bluebird and such... Its the Camino that is truly a great drive, it really feels like a completely different car! (It pretty much is i guess, since the camino is essentially the JDM version of the UK spec Primeras, which have different suspension tuning to the rest of the world market cars)

As far as i know machan, none of the places that rent 300's have the champagne/gold color... It was a pretty rare choice here if i remember correctly, there must be only one or two and they are most likely in private hands.

Oh yeah!! totally forgot the Primera, usually the first choice in this price range, guess i must have missed it because you said no to the sunny, pulsar etc so i discounted the primera as well... A 2.0L Camino with a manual gearbox can be found within your budget, will be a superb car I think.....

Actually Razor, i dont think Madz noticed the question we posed, since he logged on quite sometime after we posted it..... must also be quite busy with Jr too i guess... anyway, we can always check and see, could always make a last minute decision to take them eh?

Im not entirely certain about the Ek3 hatches because they really are quite rare, most civic hatches of any type in the country have been used to make competition cars, however i suppose there are a few around... RacersEdge might be able to help you track one down. Generally EK 4 door's retail from 1.3 mill for an early car upto around 1.8 or maybe higher for a late/high spec car such as the ViRS. There is no real reason that hatches should cost more, but this being SL, you never know what a seller might quote! As for point no 3, The EP82 starlet GT was manufactured up until December 1995, after which it was replaced by the EP90 Glanza V.... Incidentally, there is no reason to be afraid of buying a well looked after EP82 (assuming you can find one), because they are quite solid machines, and will be far more fun than a non RS Ek civic... I feel I should point out here that beyond these three, there are a range of more interesting choices you can find for your budget, if you want to be a bit different from the herd.

Wow Andrew, that is one mean looking machine you have there! Incidentally, I remember us having an RX 8 discsussion here some time back and one of the points that came up was that the car was quite Tail Happy, almost unpredictably so... Have you noticed that with your car? and has the power upgrade increases that tendency if so?

You know, this is a very rare happening on AL, most people who buy Corollas rarely if ever admit to ANY faults in them.... The gentleman who made the first answer is a case in point... any way, your oil issue has been responded to, just a quick line to address points 2 and 3... The seat belt not going back means that the return mechanism is probably worn, this tends to happen with age. Not sure where that can be sorted out though, perhaps at darley road, or you could ask at Toyota when you take the car in.. As for the engine idle... that behaviour can be caused by various things, Fuel issues, ECU issues, air flow etc, so the best thing would be to get the whole car checked out.... Running a diagnostic at Toyota is the best bet... but do remember to get an estimate before you ask them to carry out repairs..... you can probably get the same work done at half cost elsewhere.
