Can Someone tell me which color this Car is? is it white? 'cos i recall seeing a white E34 5 series (Can't recall the number, will keep eyes open) which sometimes comes 2 independence square, that had all the M cues present and correct.... (badging, Alloys, Spoiler Kit) and also it sounded Amazing...... far better than any BM 4 or 6 cyl engine I've ever heard..... could it possibly be???

Deffa, the Blue Oval (edit: Blue Propellor) is such a strong brand that if they started making 3-whelers, ppl Wud buy 'em btw the Maesto was out of production when the Compact landed...... I think you're thinkin of the Rover 200.... which was a MUCH better car...... if only Rover kept making cars like that.... Seriously though, ugly or not, that Propellor Badge will ensure the X3 is a Success..... Esp in the US of A...

As far as I know, It is now based in the Colombo 07 Area.... I've seen it running around there often.

Personally speaking I never could tolerate the X3...... when i first saw the pics of it, my reaction was along the lines opf "WHAT ARE THEY ON??!?".... and guess what? cpl of years down the line, with prolonged exposure to the thing..... I still think pretty much the same...... Im not a huge fan of "soft roaders" (Including the Freelander ) and the X3 is probably the most unappealing of the bunch..... It just seems too much like a shameless attempt to cash in quickly on the boom of the segment, rather than a properly thought through, well engineered "proper" BMW..... BM are guilty of doing this from time to time...... Li8ke the E36 3 Series Compact for example..... now THERE was a proper dog...... universally called one of BM's low points..... and yet It STILL sold by the shipload!!!!!..... Sadly for people whol covet Good Looking automobiles everywhere, So will the X3.......

yeah.... sad scene, those are great cars thast are being gradually wasted.....

Nah that would be the Escort and the Capri Respectively..... both have a FAR better image that the 'Tina..... but suprisingly mechanically they were not THAT much different (excepting the Legendary RS models of course....) You know what? I think you might well be right...... Road & Track ARE very well balanced and they aren't afraid to say what they think...... I guess the mag's rep will keep the revenue coming so they can afford to be truthful......

Sorry... was just a personal opinion. I Loved the TT when It came out, but the 2000 mods kinda turned me against it...... I've been TT-Phobic Since you're spot on about the image thing.... I guess it's the effect of the original (1980-91) Quattro..... after that, Audi seemed to lose the plot quite comprehensively...... going down the whole "All Weather, Hell-For-Leather" Route rather than providing driver involvement, which was the Quattro's Forte...... but things are looking up, Autocar pronounced the current RS4 the "Best Fast Audi Ever" so perhaps they've regained the magic........
