  1. Thoroughly disappointing and thankful I didn't take my car. Organizing was poor but the main problem was crowd control. Even after repeated requests from the officials to get off the damn track the public just didn't give a F**K! Absurd!! Track was downright dangerous for any high powered car to run which left the 1500 and 1600s only and yet even they did not get a chance to do so. After spending an F load of cash on preparing the cars and on fuel and effort (I left home with a dazzling WHITE T-shirt and arrived in Kuru with a YELLOW one due to weight reduction hence no air-con in Gihan's baby) on making the drive to kuru all the boys were left with watching some bike races! The only excitement for US was letting the car go for about 300m on the track on our way out of the damn place! Took the bend and "Oh SH*T barriers!" Rev-match, down-shift and sat on the brakes to stop the car. All this done way before some dude with a checkered flag was waving at us! Poor sod must have been wondering where the other car was! Clearly, if we had braked at the so called Finish line we would have ended up using a top-mount inter-cooler for Gihan's car! Regarding the REFRESHMENT stand. We went to the joint to slake our thirst immediately after arriving at the venue and when asked to give us a cool bottle of H2O, the guy fishes one out of a blue barrel. My insides did a flip at the sight of the thing when it came out! Covered in grass and mud! Now, I may be a little pampered, being that I fly for the national airline and all but I can hack it too......when REQUIRED to........but this was just ridiculous! When asked to wipe it clean, he gives me a funny-man look! The food I JUST WILL NOT go into! Hygiene was of a piss poor standard. Overall the crowd missed a great opportunity to witness some GREAT cars perform that night! Apparently, the MONSTER Sky had been specially prepped for the event with a lot of money, time and effort. Gihan and I had the chance to take a peek under the hood of the thing and it blew our minds! A bad day of drags at GP was a far sight better than what we saw at Kuru! All that being said, the guys that organized this even must be given a pat on the back for atleast trying to do something of this nature and as Miniace said it's our turn to show them how it's really done! A major waste of a nice Saturday IMHO!

  3. Is it that egg shaped toyota mpv? the name escapes me........not the CR\KR edition. Nor the Regius.
  4. It was before that. Initial training days....
  5. BTW speaking of bikes................... are there any confirmed 'busas around here? I had the amazing opportunity to ride a Hayabusa GSXR1300 turbo in Singapore a few months back. Had a TD05 16G storm maker in it and it was one hell of an experience. The guy was running around 10 psi (0.6BAR) on it. Opened the throttle a tad and nearly wet my pants! Should be able to get one down for about 1.4 mill if it wasn't for the damn coppers. Don't ask me what my top speed was. I was too busy trying to stay alive! One ride I truly won't forget!
  6. don't tell me it's one of those tiny chinese flatbed van\trucks 'cos I think I can spot a 3 pot engine there
  7. I'm guessing that's a van of some sort???

  11. Actually, the sad truth is that nowadays there are more "park and drag by mouth" guys at GP than ever! Most of them however happen to be bikers for some odd reason........ I remember one in particular. A bloke in one of those CHINESE Harley replicas with the exhaust sawed off making the loudest most ungodly noise you could think of! Used to do some runs with his other Ricer Bikers up and down GP thinking we were admiring them. Sad truth was that we were actually laughing our asses off! Regarding the Tolouene........Bro a word of caution. Since you ride a bike, you might end up busting your own balls if you go playing with things that bikes CAN'T handle. Cheers!!
  12. BMW E12 perhaps?
  13. Ahhhh!! That sounds interesting.......Let's take both of ours there after my build-up..........
  14. That's just a rough conversion. Mach number is the ratio between your true airspeed (TAS) and the local speed of sound (LSS). LSS depends on the OAT. To be exact it is 38.94 x sq.rt of (a) "a" being the temperature in Kelvin (k). OAT (-50) is 223k. So at OAT (-50) your LSS is 581 kts. So if your TAS is 458 kts then 458/581 = 0.788 aprox 0.79 Mini ought to back me up on this!
  15. Actually, at an OAT of (-50 deg C) M0.79 is 848 km/h and 528 mph. Local speed of sound would be about 1076 km/h. Give or take a few.........
  16. Mach 0.78 - 0.79 on a daily basis.
  17. Perhaps we should get Fero to join in on this...............
  18. Hehehe!!! Buddy if only you knew!!!
