Hi, Thought it is a bit older post, I think this is my suggestion for you. However this is what I practice other than roller doors at my home. Also I have set up Solar system for lighting and that enable me to light up the home even on a black out. I made it myself and therefore It didn't cost much but if you buy it from the agent, it will cost little bit. Do a search and go for it if you need it. Anyway these are my suggestions and kindly correct me if I am wrong. Thanks.

Do you think these ones can compete with Nissan Leaf?
-
Any particular reason for choosing a pre-facelist?
-
How about the fuel consumption of 318i (petrol) manual? It does need super petrol or normal? Also milroy is the only person who does maintenance of BMW other than the agent?

We see many 520Ds on the road now (Due to permits or so). It seems those will fall in to the same category within several years ahead?
-
Is it only the look that it gets when face-lifted?
-
Well, technically speaking it may not be 0 cost I think. The battery pack has to be replaced with in certain no of kms and the solar itself has a lifetime. All together it will still be costing some amount for a km. Nissan guarantees its battery life for 160,000kms or 10 years use. Therefore the cost of a battery pack + replacement cost + cost for charging need to be calculated to see the actual figures that it costs for a km. If someone is aware about those figures kindly post a reply.

Good article. Thanks for posting.

Is it so? Terrible. It has to be the way how normal fuel stations work. Seems like someone is going to get the control by force. This is true. 100% agreed. The manufacturer and the agent have to maintain a good relationship to provide a good service to the end customer. Otherwise customers have to listen to the talks of those who called "Agents" and pay much higher prices even for smaller repairs. I saw the "agent" sell the same car for 4.2 million and some other person has advertised a single unit (Same year) for 3.9 million. As this is a zero emission vehicle and help the community to "Go Green" the taxes it gets are very much low I think but please share what experts say about it.

It is interesting to see such innovation. There can be so many practical issues that these type of cars will face in Sri Lanka. Talking about the video on this thread, I personally feel the re-presenter had no knowledge even the common things of a car. However I found the below video that will explain well about Nissan Leaf 2011. I also saw an advertisement on a newspaper that the island-wide charging centers are going to open soon but don't know how soon.

Hi, Commonly speaking, if it is a copper one, most probebly can be able to repair but it has to be done by a good mechanic (specilized on copper welding and radiators) I think becouse it gets hot and is a part that need to handle with care. If it is a plastic one, the best thing is to replace as I see. But when you do the repair, it is possible to get the radiator cleaned with both tanks and checking the horses as well.

Hello experts, Its regarding my 4dr5. When I push the clutch pedal the pump is working fine but it seems pressure is not enough to off the clutch. Therefore both pumps (one below in the engine and the one that the pedal connect to) is adjusted. But i hear noise of a spring getting stretched inside the gear box when pushing down the pedal. Also if its a hill, a bit of a smell is coming. It seems like will have to remove the gearbox to inspect the fault. I replaced the clutch plates 8 months ago. But before that, Im seeking an advice from experts. Really appreciate your reply.

How To Flush And Re-Fill Radiator Coolant
Nishan.dj replied to Schiffer's topic in DIY (Do-It-Yourself)
Excellent work. Thanks for posting. Few more things needed to ask from the experts. What is the life expectancy of coolant (Suppose a brand-new radiator is installed and filled with coolant [diluted] for the first time.) How do we identify that it is the time for flushing the radiator if there is no color change on coolant or corrosion seen in the radiator? What would be the best to use? concentrated and diluted ? (If the water is having higher minerals such as calcium carbonate)? Even if diluted coolant is used, it is possible that the radiator gets corrosion inside ? Appreciate sharing your knowledge and experience. Thanks so much in advance.- 51 replies
