Fastening Of Seat Belts Compulsory From Tomorrow
gpmac replied to Sha7's topic in General Automotive
How do you equate the increase in per capita income with hyperinflation? -
yeah thats all we need more vigilantes and another thing learn to spell torture this episode shows how stupid the general public are, of course looking at our elected officials this should be obvious to many already

I have been using the Sala Prosat for over a year now it has its good and bad points the positives are is that it is certainly better than a phone based GPS and much safer also with the voice navigation feature it covers all major locations and landmarks or points of interests throughout SL you can map your route and I have used that feature quite often the negatives are is that in it not that intuitive as you would want it be, its takes a while sometimes for the gps to give you the location you want it to route to and on more than one occasion to my knowledge it made us go in the longer route when a shorter route is available it always seems to select the route that is closest from your point and that necessarily is not the shortest route you can take

I think you need some local context to fully understand Stig’s comment For example my next door neighbor bought a 2nd gen prius it was obvious from the conversation that I had with him that the only reason he bought it was because it was a Toyota does 20km per liter or something like that and you can get it for the price of an Axio The relative cheapness of the hybrids was the main reason why many have bought them in this short time frame, now it gets interesting with the tax rise hybrids are also priced competitively to the non-hybrid alternatives, so let’s see how the market reacts will people stick with the hybrids or go back to the safer option of the Axio

Vehicle Import Duty (All Categories) Increased Today!
gpmac replied to sampath_fer's topic in News & Updates
the taxes on vehicles that are over 2000cc is already high the additional taxes on hybrid vehicles was predictable, to many people were buying them just cuss they were cheap unlike in other places in the world it makes more sense to price hybrid cars and normal cars at the same rate so that the environmentally conscious can purchase them with the added benefit of the fuel saving, hopefully the amount of people just buying hybrids cuss they are cheap will decrease after the tax increase -
its not like that mate, just cuss some dummy does some guerrilla marketing doesn't mean this is a bad car my father owns one and i have driven it many times this year, its does well on fuel just so you know unlike the old model and it drives really well unlike the old sonata this will have some 2nd hand value but only time will tell with this regard since the 2nd hand market for cars like the elantra are holding steady similar improvement can be expected for the new sonata as well
-
the 2011 hyundai sonata is a good car, go for a test drive in it and see, you will be pleasantly surprised. there is no need to compare it to the merc or talk down to people that maybe interested in the sonata, you can get the sonata for less than 6.00mil its makes no sense to compare it to the CLS due to the passing resemblance

yeah for sure the 141 will be replaced by the prius in the coming years if the current tax policy stays the same, its seems like the same sort of people go for the prius earlier of course they went for the corolla now its the prius, i hope the infrastructure is developed to support the maintenance and repair of the hybrids though
-
ive heard some similar stories with regards to the Rexton as well, my friend had to replace his auto gearbox, thats the only answer the agent has when there is an issue with the vehicle, replace and quite expensive it was too but u should not generalize all Korean cars, my cousins 10 year old elantra is still going strong well over 100k mileage wise, my fathers santa fe is 5 years and counting and no major repairs
-
i know its a toll road, but public transportation is essential for this highway to be effective similar public transportation systems exists in th region so why not here the countries demographics and economics mean that we wont be able to afford a public highway and toll road for the same destination its quite elitist to think that just since its toll road road, individuals without motor vehicles should not have the privilege of this convenience so why don't you wait for it to be properly implemented, lets see what happens later this year maybe what you are saying is right, but its too early to say anything since the highway isn't even open yet
-
what is your problem of having public transport buses, if the 100Km/h speed is maintained the highway is for everyone who wants to south quickly but with an additional fee, not just for ppl with cars
-
there are several factors to consider before you make a decision both these vehicles are in high demand worldwide so you will most likely have to face some production delays keep in mind that hyundai own kia so basically this is the same vehicle only the interior and exterior trims will differ i personally own a new tucson had to wait nearly 5 months for the car, finally got the vehicle early this year, after having used the vehicle for 2 months i can tell u that it is excellent it is hard to belive how much hyundai have improved in such a short amount of time, keep in mind that this like the sportage also is a crossover so it drives more like a car, i certainly prefer the tucson to the rav4 which i have driven many times, only badge snobbery will make you purchase a rav4 at this point of time, if u can wait there is a hybrid tucson in the works so it should be launched in the near future

there is one for sale on this site, why dont you give the seller a call
-
looks like the prius fan-boys are out in force, all of what Prius R us is noting is pure speculation, if you are buying a prius now you are taking a risk, dont let the toyota badge fool you, there is no place to service the vehicle properly and the vehicle is yet to be tested high humidity and dusty environments, plus the second gen prius that many are looking at has woeful performance when accelerating, the other point is that the prius is not very fun to drive, even with the tax breaks many buyers is developed economies stay away from the hybrids
-
The tax cut is for full Hydrids like the Prius , I dont think the Civic Hybrid qualifies for the tax cut
-
well said cooltempo, sometimes the anti indian vehicle sentiments go overboard in this forum just a note about the Astar, its a good car no doubt, but if its not available ex-stock u might have to wait for a bit to get your hands on the vehicle
-
used JDM cars are of a higher quality when compared to the same vehicle brought brand new many car sales guys are of this opinion, they make this point over and over when selling models that are available brand new here, there might have been a case for this maybe in the early 90s but in the current context its rather a ploy to make sure ppl continue to buy used vehicles
-
Considering that the 1300cc swift goes for around 2.6M, the belta 1000cc for 2.675M looks overpriced
-
the Push Start phrase is almost universally used at car sales these days, i thought i was the only one who found it funny i have had people show me normal side mirrors and call them winker mirrors, so not everyone understands what that is as well

Vehicle Import Taxes Reduced To 25% What Will This Do To The Market?
gpmac replied to chew's topic in General Automotive
Not sure abt the Lexus but the Prius has a 8 year hybrid battery pack warranty, in places like in California this extends to 10 years, very little data exists on how long this battery can last as even ppl with a 1st gen Prius are still on their original battery and a new battery will cost around $3000.00, it’s a very easy car to drive and own, build quality is never a issue, its a Toyota -
the sports model is significantly more expensive than the 1200cc or 1300cc models, even the 1500cc brand new model at the agents is 3.5m, if u can get a 2008 sports model for that price it is a good deal
