  1. valves and pistons, i refreshed the whole engine due to low compression and i friends who race pretty regularly that rebuilds there motors. with the Kawi zx6rs there is a design flow, when you drain oil and replace the filter for the oil change it creates an air pocket and restrict oil flow to the top causing it to wear the top end. there is a trick to take the air pocket out right after the oil change, but if the bike as been worked on by somebody who dont know about the bike can lead to some damage. i bought by bike used so i had to deal with the click that caused by the previous owner.
  2. by the way ship a motorcycle to SL how much of a hassle is it to register?
  3. dont get me wrong, my favorite brand is Yamaha. seating position, power delivery, handling........
  4. i work with Facts! not opinions. all my statements were based on factual data. egsample of an opinion: Family ecoboxes like Honda Civics should be left alone like eco-boxes not race cars.
  5. very nice bikes man!
  6. Honda Makes the Most Reliable bikes and that's a FACT wont change!!!!! and it might be look small to you but those miles are not easy miles.
  7. good tool brands are: Snap-on, Craftsman, gear wrench, Clifton and mac. you will pay triple the price but the tools will last for generations. my dad bought a good German tool set when he was 20, after 37 years of hard work they still work like new.
  8. my uncle had a Plmouth Savoy back in the day. too bad he sold it.
  9. have you done regular ATF changes? you have symptoms of a bad/clogged valve body. if the ATF is very old (burnt/very dark in color) it looses its cleaning agents and build up varnish inside the transmission. when its replaced with new fluid it loosens up all the varnish and clogs the valve body. i have replaced/ cleaned out valve body's on Chryslers and fords and have had success with it. if you have high miles i would definitely consider changing the transmission. key to keep your transmission running well is doing frequent transmission flushes since its new. i have abused my car to the max and transmission runs like a champ because i do tranny flushes with good quality ATF at home.
  10. there is no reson for me to bullshit something negative about my own motorcycle/experience, its another story if i Bullshit unbelievably positive.
  11. 03-05 never came equipped with a exup unit and most Yamaha are peaky engines which results in more power with increased wear. of course you wont loose any power because 18k kms are nothing for a R1. on my R6 the redline is at 16k rpms and i always shift at abourn 12-14k, installed a power comander, dyno tuned, suspension set up for my weight. my R6 got 32186 kms and Zx6r 77248kms got mixed of road and raced miles.
  12. oh year its very close to kottawa! sure im ugly and you lost your appetite, at least im not a ######## like you to check out other dudes to see whether they are hot or not. this is funny lots of haters making my day really happy. lol
  13. any internal combustion engine looses power over time. internal wear reduces compression causing it to have less power than what it used to put out when its new. old carburetored bike like that tend to have more wear than a newer fuel injected bikes due to almost perfect air/fuel ratio. since its a 1000cc motorcycle it tends to have less wear in-comparison to smaller engines that rev higher. yamaha tend to wear out faster because their peak power output is at higher RPMs. if the motorcycle has never been raced this is not a problem.
  14. more of R6 Crash rebuild Burn out
  15. i never boasts my self, i rather keep a low profile of my bikes. when it times to prove my self against bunch of idiots....yes i have to "boast" to show how im "experienced" in the motorcycle industry.
  16. you probably havent even touched a sport bike.
  17. VTX1800 Shadow 1100 cb450 and 550 08 GSXR

  19. modern day cars barely needs a tune up. at 30k i would change the air filter, fuel filter, pcv valve and spark plugs. i would look at your owners manual and follow the chart.
  20. in the United States later Model hybrids recommend 0w-20 viscosity oil which is a synthetic. but its not a required oil which means you can use 5w-20 non-synthetic oil. this might be a very different story in Sri Lanka.
  21. dude i race bikes as a hobby and my household have 9 motorcycles. i build race bikes and cafe racers . i dyno my bike before races and my r6 lost 30 horsepower before its rebuild. i speak with experience!!!!
  22. Honda offers a overall good bike. i think reliability is a key factor that Sri Lankans appreciate. i own and race a 05 R6 and a 05 Kawasaki ZX6r 636. both of my bikes are not as reliable as hondas. Yamaha looses horsepower after two years of racing and the Kawasaki starts clicking around 20k miles.
  23. Thanx guys, ill be arriving around july 12th and im going to see how crazy SL roads can be. i have been riding for 4 years and i have ridden bikes from 250cc up to 1800cc bikes all im worried are other crazy drivers. as soon as arrive ill let your guys know. thank you for your help
  24. Hey Guys, I am planning on visiting Sri Lanka very soon. Since I am a University student I have a very low budget. I would like to know what will be the most cost effective transportation I could use to get around Sri Lanka. Since I love motorcycles I am thinking of renting a motorcycle. I left Sri Lanka in 2001 so Im not quite remember the roads. I want to know how safe/dangerous riding a motorcycle can be in Sri Lankan roads. Do you guys know anybody who would rent a reliable motorcycle? I am a motorcycle guy so Ill take care of it. Trail bike is definitely preferred. If not a motorcycle I could go with a very small car. Any information about renting an affordable motorcycle or a compact car will be highly appreciated.
