  1. Great, I've missed it. My bad. Thanks for the msg.
  2. Yeah, a lot in other forums....
  3. After following up the development of the prototype FT86 in the web and being an owner of the last RWD Toyota Corolla fun to drive car, I must admit that my dream car(actually one of them) has been released now.(Actually last Nov) Its not 100% toyota as it comes with a subaru engine. You will find so many discussions going on in the web of this Toyobaru which is supposed to be a legend someday. http://forums.club4a...d=95050&page=18 http://www.motoiq.co...-86fr-sbrz.aspx It is said that there will be a STI version from Subaru and a Supercharged version from Toyota... Being biased to Toyota, I'm posting a Toyota 86 pic... I wish to see a couple of these in our roads soon!
  4. a moving work of art...... Pagani Huayra (pronounced wire-rah). http://speedhunters....ease-event.aspx http://speedhunters....-in-detail.aspx

I believe that CVT oil change is necessary only every 50,000km. Also CVT oil is more expensive than ATF.
  7. This is my opinion on a manual compared to an auto simply for the following reasons, Driver used to manual (they drive the auto like a manual, they want quick pickup) Tourism involves hill country travel - higher fuel+brake pad cost Practically difficult to change sri lankan spoiled drivers driving style.(My personal exp) Less engine wearing on manual transmission (as auto involves higher rpms to accelerate) Higher rpm leads to higher fuel cost Dual A/C requires more pulling power. But as clearly said SuperGL will not have manual transmission. Passenger comfort wise auto is much better as well. On average we get 6 - 7 km/l with KDH200 (2500cc) auto model with dual A/C. Also note that you have to use Super Diesel for these models, otherwise so much trouble in the long run. Good luck with your decision.
  8. I've wanted to know the best possible fuel consumption, so I drove the car very consciously. I manage to get 18.56km/l from a return trip to Aluthgama from Nugegoda on a Sunday. Its a 2007 model 1000cc Vitz. The CVT gbox is very sensitive to your driving style, cos when others drove we got only 12-13km/l average.
  9. Congrats! We admire guys like you who keep these good old machines in best possible condition. It is a pleseant thing to comeacross them on the road as we are fed up of all these similar looking jap machines. Its not necessarily bcos they are jap, jap also made few good cars. But they too are hard to find on the road. Who can say that 240Z isn't a beauty? Anyways good luck with your project!
  10. Check for common issues like oil in dizzy or cam sensor warped inside dizzy. Hope the mechanic chkd d ign. coil as well.
  11. The Fluid gauge for the tranny is visible if you look at the top serface of the gearbox underneath the battery. Its a yellow colour knob for refil and level gauge. You'll have to use CVT oil (Not ATF like in old cars). There is TOYOTA CVT oil available in the mkt. AFAIK Toyota agent does not recommend to use pumping machines to change gearbox oil, but some service stations do this. As per the agent it can damage the gearbox.
  12. I'm new to the forum... most of the people who owns these type of cars do not care of the looks. I also have seen many pics in the web with different alloys. I'm also looking for deep dish alloys for my AE85 for a long time. Help appreciated to find a set.(4x114.3PCD) As far as the engine is concerned best NA engine is the 20V BT/ST for this chassis.(Of course with Toyota DNA) Else the 16V engine with supercharger/turbo charger (4AGZE/4AGTE). I prefer NA option.
