  7. Lol! Is your time zone a bit behind Sri Lanka? ?
  8. Looks identical - well done.
  9. Ooh very close, it’s not a hybrid, it’s the new rx300; Saw one the other day - superb looking thing from behind.

  14. Yay! I quite like the old Jettas. OK here’s an easy, omniscient fugly
  15. Is it a mk 2 VW Jetta?
  16. Same boat as you. I sprung for a diesel 4x4 Sportage and I get a little over 7kmpl in the city, which is fine. Your budget tells me you’re probably thinking of a petrol model, I think the resale prospects of the petrol are less healthy than the diesel I’m afraid. But truly a piece of cake to run and maintain. So far anyway. I also run a 141 corolla. It’s very basic, even compared to the sportage, but I use this much more than the Kia - the 141 really is a Hardy, trouble-free mile muncher and it’s within your budget. I have the facelift model and it returns an even 9kmpl. Back seats don’t have all that much leg room, the Kia is better in that way, but only slightly. Maybe it’s worth a thought?
  17. I would also recommend worrying about the mileage and resale value. Those aren’t just going to worry about themselves, you have to be a little proactive.
  18. Has he got a gold watch on both wrists?
  19. Anton, I think what kmeeg is trying to say is that It’s not about the speed you get to - it’s about the revving, or how quickly you get there. Accelerate gently is his advice.
  20. Related question about an a/c abnormality: I have been trying to figure out why, when revving hard, the a/c cooling in my car drops. I have to turn the a/c off and on again to regain normal function (either by pressing the button or switching it off at the fan). I was reading something about an a/c clutch, am I on the right track?
  21. Does it look like a 21st century Citroen BX to anyone else?
  22. I give up. What is the suitable sedan?
  23. Hi JN98! Honestly I wouldn’t pay that much for a Disco 3. For starters, the car is probably over a decade old, it is relatively expensive to maintain and then there’s the previous owner. (If they have the usual complexes that prompt people to buy such a vehicle (no offence) it may have had rather a hard life.) But then if you really love it, those things I mention should not stop you.
  24. So here's an extract of a conversation I had the other day with an Uber guy: Him: Where this place? Me: Do you have the location? Him: Yes Me: OK, that's where the place is. At the location. Him: Number? Me: There is no number, it's the only house without a number ... get to the location and stop at the location. You will know it because it is the ONLY place without a number. Him: Landmark? Me: Well there are two: It's the only place at the location and it's the only one without a number. Him: I can't see this place. Me: Are you at the location? Him: No, on the way. Me: Well, you will see it, when you get to the location. Him: Where this place? After wondering whether he is just trying to find material for his stand up at some open mic event, it dawned on me that my attempt to make my house stand out ironically, by having no number, I have opened up a totally new pathway for people to annoy me. In addition, I now realise at the tail end of my breakfast margarita, that not only is it not funny, it is actually completely moronic. And I apologise for this. Does anyone know where I can get metal/metallic house numbers?
