  1. Thanks. Here's the next one.
  2. The truck I meant -anyways I think the answer is the Kia Ceres. Which If Im not mistaken runs Mazda engine like Kias of that era The Toyota Ceres of course would have had the 4AGE - most in SL run on the 5A.
  3. off topic but could not help notice: the nomenclature strongly suggested you live down under. Just noticed your location mentioned under your avatar. Do the Kiwi's also use the word UTE?
  4. Update : Wikipedia's Kia page directed me to the Korean Wiki and I know the model now. Exact model is a Kia with a Greek name that Toyota also used for a hardtop sedan in the 1990's running a mazda engine
  5. This would be a Kia truck. Exact model I'm not sure.
  6. Well if you just look for 60Mahwith EFB it should fit the bill. Let me check the model code I have and get back.
  7. Just adding my two cents on these models. 1. Parts for the Escudo are getting harder to find - that might be something worth considering. 2. Troopers/Patrols are mostly in sorry state. The good ones are usually dodgy units with questionable paperwork. 4. Seems to be the 'safer' option. Just a left field thought - will not a 4X4 Truck (Double Cab) fit the bill?
  8. Yup. I really was not impressed with the Yuasa.
  9. oooh....triple gem... so that means the car was in a temple. So we're looking for the car that belongs to the chief priest of the Kirulapone temple?
  10. There are a few of these around - this is not quite a pristine example. mmm let me guess... Gem Hotwheels and Ratnapura? that doesn't make any sense... 😛
  11. For the stop start to work you need EFB batteries. My FK6 originally came with a Varta battery that lasted 4 years. During the fuel crisis in 2022 mine packed up and I was unable to find an EFB battery - there was a huge problem with supply chain back then as well- I ended up getting a Yuasa without EFB. It packed up in 2 years. Currently I'm running an Amaron AGM (60mah) - so far no complaints. Cost me around 50K. The EFB batteries come with one year warranty as opposed to two.
  12. and here's me thinking of Italian and french cars... well I did think of Renault but I never guessed Saab!
  13. For a while I had a Nissan AD wagon all 1.3 Liters of QG13 goodness and It was SLOW and I mean SLOW and it probably showed. I think every driver treated it like a pregnant lady with a toddler in tow - I was like "Why is everyone nice to me?" "oh wait I'm in my AD wagon"
  14. Yes this was obvious - we simply wanted to put the matter to rest -whether the numbers on paper actually translated to a faster car. Re - the torque yes the Civic has a very nice amount of torque- it has a bit of a turbo-charged diesel feeling to it. that particular 3 gear Honda was as I heard a swap. I do not know whether it was legitimately done or not. Same question popped up in my mind regarding the Starlet - though technically it would at least be the same engine capacity. ... BTW did anyone see the Gen X Civic running on CAD plates (off a Toyota Aqua)? This was also on the traffic group on FB. Apparently Toyota and Honda together are prone to stir controversy.
  15. Yes it does. @Dee Jay and I many years ago did a 0-100 test in a Premio and my Civic. The Civic was a tad quicker to 100 Km/h. [Speaking of Toyotas - the Civic could not hold a candle to my 1.3L 4EFE swapped EP71 though. That thing was scarily fast since we were running an engine designed for much heavier cars on a tiny tin-can of an 80's car. I sometimes get carried away when I drive it, hence I sold it to a 19 year old boy. I really do hope he drives responsibly] The GP5 is a very very peppy car, it also has a Dual-Clutch transmission so it's at a whole different level compared to the kill-joy CVT on the Civic - very engaging to drive.
  16. I think an engine swap within 500CC is allowed. You would need prior approval from DMT
  17. It's possibly due to the larger dimensions- you'll get used to it once you're using the car. Before the Civic I drove a Honda Fit GP1- ideal car to nip in and out of the traffic- took some time to get used to the slightly larger car but over time you get used to it.
  18. Did the civic hear you say this? That the Premio and Allion has better driving pleasure than it? If so your Civic is probably venting out it's anger on you I think Misnad's Civic is a bit of an exception after it heard him say the Allion/Premio has better driving pleasure than it - "hell hath no fury..." and all that. Eesh... just run the Civic Like a regular jap car. Don't wanna jynx it -but mine's only been acting up in the A/C department.
  19. Might need a clue. Is this French?
  20. Would come at a higher mileage I guess. The A/C issues in this generation of Civic is well documented and usually it's not the Compressor. Leaky evaporators are the usual suspect. When you replaced the evaporator last time was it OEM or third party? Did the technicians make sure to have the same gas when refilling? @iRage and I just discussed on another thread of the potential difference between the City RS and the FK6 - and yes I doubt the City RS being the newer car will still manage to meet your expectations after the Civic. Herein lies the problem - I also fail to see a potential 'replacement' that will not feel like a downgrade for the Civic hence sticking around with it. I mean you *could* go for a recon 1.5L Engine do a swap and presto you have no wet-belt fears a good old 1.5 L car with more powaaaaaah... a rising Honda joint in Yakkala were promoting that they can do this upgrade -and in fact the owner runs a swapped Civic as I remember.
  21. Yup - this I agree with. Not quite in the same league of course - if it were, would not make sense for Honda's model differentiation. I do see though that Honda models over time follow in footsteps of their ancestors in a higher category at times. Anyways, OP is not missing out by not getting the City. (and well not the Raize either)
  22. Well obviously the new City is the successor for the old City 😄 Technically correct. Which is why I Mentioned - "City specs suggest it's basically the FK6 civic's successor" Point is the City RS gives out a very strong Civic FK/FL vibe, with the P10A6 and CVT combo quite reminiscent of the P10A2 + CVT combo - not to mention the trims etc having some similarities. This reminds me of the third gen City which gave out a very strong Civic EF vibe. ( I think the EF was the basis for the City 3rd Gen anyway)
  23. I think you're not missing out much by going for the FK6 over the City... as Hyaenidae mentioned the drive train is quite similar. Plus, the FK6 probably has a few more bells and whistles and some creature comforts. And hopefully you got it for much less than the City RS. The FK6, is certainly not the best Civic to be ever made and has it's (generous) share of flaws and niggles . But once you get to know it you tend to like it. I've had one for 6 and a half years now.
  24. @iRage was first... take the floor sir!
