  1. Did some shooting of few of my models out of boredom. Just phone captures so please mind the lightning and white background. The actual models look much better, dont think im doing justice here.
  2. May be what you saw was modded with the same type of offroad bumper ...
  3. This is the dream ... hopefully.
  4. ? I digg the mean stance of the cruiser modified or not. In SL context we dont get much other options to compete with this apart from the Y62 Patrol which is extremely rare.
  5. Thanks guys for the comments and tempting images. Finding a good diesel with low mileage would definitely be a challenge, but for these engines 100k kms would be just the break in period. And though not so concerned about fuel as the deciding factor here, petrol ones would be so thirsty probably would return may be 5kmpl in city where diesel ones does around 7kmpl ish. The new face lift diesels are out of reach by any means now. Yes, I have seen lot of conversions done with various levels of quality ranging from 3/4 laks to 1mil +. And interior upgrades with massive touch screen audios etc. This would definitely not be a bling or shiny princess, I am eyeing on the Vogue Industries Cruiser here, that front bumper is dope. and the 33 or 35 tires. probably skip the hood rack. And with a frosted red wrap. I know red is an unusual color for a cruiser, but would look dope. Any idea about the so called Bruno Cross edition here with absurd asking prices? Is it similer to the Sahara model?
  6. Hi @Kavvz, The deciding factor is not the fuel here. Being a V8, obviously im not expecting 10KMPL from this. The diesel ZX is the fully kitted one but the pre face lift, petrol one is the newer facelift. so thats where I struggled. And by the looks of it and as @iRage mentioned, diesel model holds its value comparatively better than the petrol. Also as a user of a diesel SUV currently, I love the low end torque. I will not be doing any towing or off roading with this, but being driving SUV's for the past decade, its defiantly hard to settle for a car of any sort at this point. And cruiser is one of the few vehicles which holds up its value relatively better compared to other main stream SUV's in the similer price range. Of course its ancient compared to the latest kit offered by the likes of Range Rovers and BMW etc..., but i can live with that given the peace of mind.
  7. Vehicles with a duplicate CR demands a low market value, so if its a genuine duplicate CR and can be verified as other members stated and also the vehicle is in good condition , you could grab a good bargain. Faced a similar situation long back where lost the original book of a Chevrolet Cruise and sold it off well over 200k of market price at that time as no one wanted to buy it sadly, though we took a genuine duplicate CR for it.
  8. Thanks for the reply iRage, I dont think we have any 3UR cruisers here in SL apart from the few LX570's around. Yes, the 1VD would be ideal as I will be doing some travelling around with 5+ members, so may be both economical and engaging than a 1UR. Im looking at a cruiser as a long term vehicle to keep rather than to change in few years, so the added reliability is a major factor here. I know there are plenty of offerings from like Merc, BMW, Audi on same or lesser price brackets and newer models but long term reliability is a key concern here too.
  9. Dear experts, Im looking in to buying a 202 and I have read the past posts on this forum but I don't think it really answers the questions I have. With my current budget( approx 24~25 Mil) I have 2 options, Opt 1 - 2013 - 2015 Land cruiser 202 ZX Fully loaded Diesel model. Air sus / Cool box etc ... whole 9 yards Opt 2 - 2016 Land cruiser 202 ( New face lifted version) AX semi option Petrol model Diesel ZX is the pre face lift version but the fully kitted ZX. The newer model is tempting and I like the exterior design than the 2014 / 2015 model year. But being a Petrol, I will have big fuel bills. Is it worth to go for the newer model petrol or stick to the ZX with options. Is there a significant difference in mechanical components of the newer 2016+ models compared to previous model? Experts and reviews suggest both petrol and diesels engines are reliable but any advantage of owning a diesel against the petrol? The local market is held high for the diesel variant thus far. Not so concerned about the fuel here, but what about the other factors in play here relevant to local conditions / maintenance etc ... Any idea and suggestions from actual users, I'd love to hear your take on the car.
  10. This model i believe have a reflector type of light housing. So HID or LED lights will not give a proper result and it may scatter light irregularly and blind the oncoming traffic. Why dont you invest on a proper pair of halogen headlight bulbs, Philips Racing Vision, Osrum Night Breaker etc...
  11. But what i also have heard is Ssangyong Kyron is giving lot of issues after passing 50K. and sensors start to fail quite frequently. Not sure, Kyron and Korendo uses common components, but after the Rexton, other models seem brittle, even the new Tivoli. The new Rexton is yet to be tested though.
  12. On another note, have used the Ssangyong Rexton for almost 160K KMS from brand new. Only had to replace the speed sensor and running repairs. It was the 2008 permit model.
  13. What is the tyre size for Tucson? I am also looking to change my set of tires for Sorento. 255/55/R19 Hope it won't cost a fortune.
  14. I pay 74k for 8Mil. (All****z) Premium depends on many factors like, your history, no of vehicles insured, no of years with the insurer. etc...
  15. Is it not mentioned in the driver side door well?
  16. Oh, probably. Havent seen any body parts on display for Kia / Hyundai models around delkanda also.
  17. Spare parts as in Filters / Break pads etc? I just changed my break pads for Kia Sorento last week. Parts were sourced from Maharagama.
  18. Also note, almost all diesel Santafe / Sorento's were brought down for the permits and specs may fit for the permit price.
  19. I dont know anyone personally who caught up with a lawsuit filed by Tenaga, but i do know few individuals who has well over 500k fines (issues under multiple tickets) under them. Last year there was a court case on this fines and court gave an order to suspend issuing fines temporarily. This suspension has been lifted now and what ticketing officers are telling is now the fines are being gazetted and victims are bound to pay by the law.
  20. Does DMT check parking fines before doing the transfer? Not sure they have such a connected system. Fines are associated with vehicle reg number. So when the Tenaga decided to demand past due fines through courts, they must be checking the owner from the vehicle reg no. ( by this time, if the vehicle is already transferred to a new owner, new owner info is tagged to the case) This is how i assume things may happen. I may be wrong. If any of you have further visibility, please do en-light us.
  21. Total price was around 350 USD. This included Head unit + TPMS system + OBD Connector + High Res reverse cam with moving guide lines + Shipping. I cannot find the links. Sorry. Joying is a good brand if you can find a fitting unit. My model didn't had any fitting Joying unit. They only had generic modules.
  22. The Tenaga (Park Smart) car parking fines is a total nightmare. If you are unable to pay the due fine within 2 hours, the fine increases from LKR 100 to LKR 1500 which is absurd. The intention of this post is not to discuss about this problem, but to address another issue. When someone purchase a used vehicle, specially if its used daily in Colombo, its always best to check the parking fine history. As this fine is associated with the vehicle registration number. I know few vehicle owners who neglect these fine payments and the fines has reached 500k+ LKR. The excuse for them is the mobile app doesn't work to pay the fines on time etc ... Lets imagine they sell one of those vehicles and the new owner may not know about the hefty fines attached with vehicle registration number. This will be an unnecessary court case at the end. Im not sure how this may play out. But better be cautious and add this to the checklist when you are buying a vehicle.
  23. I am using a Chinese head unit on my Sorento for almost 2 years now. No issues so far. Audio quality is excellent. And it has all the features including Apple Car Play / Android Auto. Google maps works like a charm and pretty smooth. Signal reception is excellent even on cloudy days. You may try on AliBaba rather than AliExpress and talk directly to the supplier. You could get a unit almost $100 cheaper than AliExpress. Also, I paid around 2500 LKR for custom clearance and it came directly to home with EMS shipping.
  24. On a different note, a famous cab company uses BYD electric suv's in their fleet. once i been in a one for a short trip and the ride was not half bad. And it has done well over 100K + KMS at the moment. Didnt had any time to see all interior bits and fit and finish as it was at night. Any one else has been on one here. BYD has some impressive line of electric motors as i have seen on Yo*Tu**. So China does experiment on never technology. But those models are on a different price bracket.
