  1. Pretty sure my primary starts when I rev over 2500, its ok since most of the time I drive in traffic. And the second comes on around 4500, by which time the cars is reaching close to 100. I usually step on the accelerator gradually so don't feel that much of a grunt A good boost gauge will set u back about Rs 30k , and the cheaper ones ( Sold @ M* Cade ) are not that reliable in the reading. So if you are running the car stock there is no real advantage in having one.
  2. As long as its maintained well you should be ok. I bought my EK3 with around 80k on the clock used for 3 good years without any major issue except for the a/c, where I replaced the condenser. That is a common issue as have heard on the EK3 since the std unit is not sufficient with our heat and tends to pack up quite easily.
  3. I never realized Super Mario was a plumber....!!! after all these years, or are u referring to another video game character...?
  4. Is this the same guy advertising in the Sunday papers ?
  5. Then this maybe something else then....., but I remember this Dumi##a guy going on abt how he converted a old Harrier with the new lights, may have been the model before this one.
  6. If its a Vti the price is good, also not many black EK3's out there. But then u have not mentioned the KMs, number of previous owners etc...which also have a bearing on the local car prices. Enjoy your new ride.... but please don't try to do those hideous body kit modifications.....
  7. Think this is a old Harrier which was converted with the new lights done by Dum*nda Body kit guy few years back....
  8. I would, but the comparison is between the 2 Station Wagons.
  9. Chooti Putha is right, the supercharge conversion is mainly made to be fitted on to the Swift Sport, doing it on a Indian Swift and you may end up with too much boost which the engine cannot handle and end up busting the engine. I could not watch the video but I think these kit comes without a intercooler ( not 100% sure) But doing a supercharging on the Swift sport in my view is not a good idea, cos the swift has a lot of power anyway, car is light and very fast off the mark. Unless you are in to drag racing there is no point, especially on a Indian Swift where the cost of the conversion in proportion to the cost of the car will be significant.
  10. The Montero Sport is built on the double cab , so durability wise it maybe better than the Sorento. Also its got a lot more ground clearance than the Sorento so I would pick the Sport....
  11. So I see you have been doing some homework... accident was 3 years ago ! Cars do meet with accidents but unlike some other guys I don't keep it a secret.

    Nissan Navara

Is there any reason A*W does not bring down the Navara ?
  13. Are you sure your primary is kicking in properly ? It should come on after 2.5 rpm and should give you sufficient power till second one comes on board. Actually the primary is not very small compared to the second, so it could be u have a issue with the turbo itself or wastegate, the system is too darn complex, but you might find the below article useful. http://www.veloce.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/Twin%20Turbo%20Operation/ttopprt2.htm
  14. Wow.. what a lot I have missed over the weekend.... Yes he definitely has a lot of scrap metal, tin cans and what not. I know most of the members here on A/L are very modest guys, some own super cars but don't brag, but you are one of the most arrogant self centered idiots on this forum. You talk of "MY" collection, but how many of those cars are under your name.. ? face it dude, you are just a nobody trying to brag about what your daddy has done... having a couple of old tin cars and a few old engines you may have picked up from a junk yard in US but you talk as if you are the number one performance tuner in Sri Lanka... Yes, truth really hurts.. Your parents may have educated you on automotive engineering.... but sadly they seem to have missed out on the etiquette part. If I could only remember Sylvi's quote about shanty dwellers...
  15. You seem to just a big talker, Instead of talking about stuff u plan to do with V8s u inherited from your grandmother, why dont u just talk of a actual performance modification u have done... You are no better than that Zambo guy......
  16. All I see is a lot of BS talk... and a guy with a identity crisis....
  17. Average Sri Lankan knows 3 cars, Toyota Corolla, Nissan Sunny and Honda Civic.

    Nissan Navara

The Hilux cab that is shipped to UK is from Thailand if I am not mistaken..... The one I saw was imported from UK.
  19. Agree, but the number of votes is an indication of how effective you are.
  20. Seems like u got a lot of old V8s lying around, and I cant help notice all the big talk of dropping a V8 here and V12 there.... but would you mind enlightening us noobs on an actual project YOU have done with a V8 ? If there is a thread on something like that please direct us to it... I am honestly asking this as I am quite interested to see a proper build like the one on the Mini V-tec conversion
  21. Karu got less votes than Paba from Gampaha ! , and this is the fool who they are trying to put as opposition leader.... ! When you have an opposition like that the Govt can do anything they want..
  22. If you go though some of the other threads relating to vehicle service you will see theres a lot of bad reviews about MAG. I personally feel Auto Miraj is better when it comes to basic services compared to A*W, Kleen park was good but I dont know now. But for repairs better go to agents, it will also benefit you when trying to sell the car
  23. Reaching 4000rpm is a lot in traffic but u still get 10kmpl, which is great. When u are reving above 4k RPM, your car cannot see the traffic, it thinks you got a open road so will change gears accordingly. But no sooner it gets to the right gear you may break due to traffic.
  24. I think 2 months back there was a gathering of mini owners at Parliment car park. Most of the cars were very well maintained. Btw there is a mini advertised in the papers, it was at the car sale in front of Mc Donalds. They claim it to be the fastest mini in Sri Lanka.
  25. I know most of our politicians are stupid.... but surely there cannot be someone that stupid to say something like that.
