  1. Had a similar issue (car comes to halt after driving approx 1 hr with Oil light on) with my Ford Mondeo, (Transmission similar to Mazda 6). It got resolved after replacing the Throttle position sensor and Speed sensor. Please check with a compatible scanner. It will help to pinpoint the issue.
  2. No idea about Kyron but using a Rexton for 6 years with 100K KM's +. Dint had any issue so far except replaced the speed sensor and the regular servicing. There is a servicing and workshop in Pannipitiya (Malabe Rd) and they are quite good. Have heard Kyron has issues where needs to replace lot of sensors here and there but don't have any 1st hand experience.
  3. Hi newone, have u done any benchmark tests on the phone and compared the results with other S3 results? if so any difference?

    Fm Modulators

Used a FM modulator loong time back. It works but lot of noise and distortion.
  5. Well ... only the back sticker displays where its made @. Guys at the shop even agreed me doing a benchmark test (Quadrant test) on the device if im actually buying it. And it carries 1 year warranty and so on. I don't think these are fake versions but the county of origin if different. And based on the net search i came up on several forums that the made in Vietnam versions has the least returned units to the factory due to defects. Then again that may depend on various factors. What i am thinking is should i spent extra 5k for the same phone which is made in china over the made in Vietnam version. Hmm ...
  6. guys ... on the topic, Samsung Galaxy devices there are 3 variants as Made in Korea, Made in China and Made in Vietnam. Which one would be the better choice? I was trying the Mega 6.3 at Unity and the Vietnam made version was around 54500 and China made version was around 59.
  7. Before buying a Mondeo, try to convince the seller and take the car to David Peiris, get it checked by Caldera. You will not regret that decision.
  8. Mondeo comes with 215/ 16 tires which is not so uncommon. And having owned a Mondeo and driven a Passat, I would also suggest a Mondeo. Parts are not so difficult to find if you know where to look. Volvo's doesn't age so well with our climate. Thats what i have seen. No idea how they drive though.
  9. Have u solved the issue ? Hmm thinking it will be a disappointment ordering the sun roof option for the Sorento
  10. Why don't you go straight to the agents without voiding the warranty by trying to fix it from here and there.
  11. This tax scheme is valid only for recon vehicles? Otherwise tax value is based on the vehicle's CIF value.
  12. Hi fuzzo, Montero Sport, there's a new model out with slightly new trim, climate control AC etc. Only the Montero Diesels are available for permit. (2.8 and 3.2). Not so sure about the exceed and super exceed models.
  13. Had a test drive in the new Sorento today. Man that feels awesome and feels really quick. No turbo lag. Compared to the Rexton, pretty quick. 197HP feels pretty decent. New steering modes, comfort doesn't feel good to drive around the city. kept it on sport mode and it felt very controlling. Santafe not available for a test drive even .. what a shame. But hope it should feel the same cz more or less its the same engine.
  14. Hi guys, given the fact that Santafe is tad expansive than the Sorento, we would see lot of Sorento's on the road compared to Santafes', and the general saying that Santafe has a better build quality than the Sorento, where would you put ur money in? Sorento or Santafe? Santafe is 6 - 7 laks expensive than the similar spec Sorento.
  15. Hi guys, thanks for the comments, X Trail diesel, haven't really thought about it. but it has a very dull looking interior. Has anyone used a Toyota Fortuna ? Would this be a good contender compared to Sorento ?
  16. Thanks iRage, yes as u correctly said, i don't see any other alternative which offers what Sorento offers in the same price bracket. And for the petrol and diesel vehicle costs, Vanguard , Rav 4, Vitara , x Trail , CRV prices all goes very closely to the Sorento if not more. And with petrol 2.0 and 2.5 L engines, its highly likely to get around 6 -7 kmpl in the city where a diesel would do at least 1 -2 kmpl more in the same conditions.
  17. Santafe though it shares most features with Sorento, it costs almost 1 mil more than the Sorento of the same spec. (7.4 Mil something full spec as with Sorento its 6.5mil for fully spec). Regarding the engine durability, our old Rexton is almost hitting the 93k kms mark and still didn't give any troubles other than changing the speed sensor. Then again its a Mercedes engine. This is for mostly city running and not for any sort of off road use. So toughness is not a major concern. It should be moderately comfortable and spacious. So thats why though of going for a diesel suv. Prado i don't think can buy for the permit.
  18. Thanks guys, Sorento 2014 model prices range from 4.9 mil base model to 6.5 mil fully loaded for the permit. For around 6 mil can get most options. Yes, Sorento 2.2L engine outputs like 197bhp where the 3.2L Montero only produces 165bhp. But people say due to this high output, Sorento engine might not last long. Need bit of a research on this. Didn't consider Ford and other European options like Freelander (out of my budget anyway i guess) cz it seems their market value crashes considerably higher than the rest. Vanguard, is a 2.5L petrol engine where might return only 6 -7 kml in city driving. And spending around 6+ mil for it , im wondering is it worth it. Toyota Fortuna and Montero Sport, reminds me of double cabs from the same brands. To be honest, currently i feel that im really biased towards the new Sorento. Dont see any other vehicle which offers its features for this price range. hmm ....
  19. Guys, im looking to buy an SUV for the permit and below are some of the shortlisted ones, Current running budget is around 5.5 - 6 mil. Kia - Sorento 2014 - Diesel and i love the look and feel. Yet to drive one though. Biggest worry is people complaining about engine troubles since its a 2.2L for such a big vehicle and resale value. Toyota - Harrier 2013 / Vanguard 2013 / Rav 4 2013 - Dont see any diesel options from Toyota for my price range. If i could stretch my budget like 1.5 mil, Mitsubishi - Montero Diesel. long shot for now. Appreciate if you guys could share some of your opinions and any other options which i have missed. Currently Sorento is on the top of the list. And x Trail , CRV didn't give much thought about those 2.

  21. I mean the new 2013 model. Haven't seen that on our roads yet. I checked with the agent. They also don't have the demo vehicle at their showroom yet. Due to arrive on this month as per them.
  22. Hi Magnum, have u queried from any of the 3rd party importers regarding bringing down a Sorento on permit? Have they quoted any price ?
  23. As i remember it was a red Toyota FT-86. didnt go to call the guys. Don't know these ppl just putting images to get more attraction. Reminds me of the add of a red Audi R8 on Hidad few weeks back.
  24. Saw on HitAd, Toyota FT-86 for 5.8Mil. (For permit ofcourse)
