    Hi, I'm an unmarried professional looking for a sporty car for myself. My budget is around 7 mil. The car has to be unique. It doesn't have to be new i prefer something around 2011 to 2008 era. Not looking for a generic japanese car like the axio or allion etc. can be a small car. in fact i prefer a small car like the golf. but they dont seem to be available in SL. Please recommend a good model for me thanks

    Hello, I'm looking to buy a new vehicle, and i want some accurate information regarding duty and taxes. Can someone please provide information on the total taxes I would have to pay if i were to import a vehicle priced approximately at USD 25,000.00. I would like how the tax calculation would be done for non-permit Vehicles, Permit vehicles and Hybrid vehicles. I would also like to know if importing a vehicles from a country such as australia, as opposed to japan, would be a good idea.

    I always though if you are harry rich the word expensive would loose meaning. BTW, I found this while rummaging through the internet http://blogs.geegain.com/post/28281/mclaren-mp4-12c-in-sri-lanka apparently those cost 229000 USD. So there might be a rolls hiding somewhere

    Ok so we see quite a number of mercedes Cs, Es, even a few Ss ,and other comparable cars over here. But I have never seen Cars that fall into the unltra super luxury range, the Rolls & the Bentleys. Why is this the case? it can't possibly be the price tag, i mean sure we may not have dollars billionaires in this country, but the dammika, the captains & Harry must be capable of buying these cars. I'm wondering if there are any government restrictions on importing these really expensive cars.

    Thanks I'm also favoring the old montero sports myself. The vehicle seems less toyish than some of the other smallish SUVs. I'm hoping to some 2008ish model under 50 laks.

    In my OP i said i was particularly interested in reliability of the vehicle & it's potential after sales value. Fuel economy isn't an issue for me. and factors such as comfort are things that i can easily gauge for myself after test driving the vehicle. To be perfectly frank, my interest in the hybrid not for practical reasons. The honda civic looks nice & it seems kind of cool to own a hybrid. For practical purposes i'm interested in a smallish suburban SUV

    Thanks for all the replies. I also had some interest in the RAV4 but i didn't like the look of it. CARBON B4, i'm just fishing for information here. Asking a forum is definitely a smart thing to do these days as they contain considerable amounts of information. One more thing, where can i find the tariff calculation for imported vehicles?     I'm looking for a new vehicle, I have about 4-5mn rupees to spend on car but i can go up a little further with a lease if i absolutely want to. I've been looking at a few vehicles and there are a few that have caught my eye. I would really appreciate some comments, I'm interested in knowing if the vehicle models have any defects, and what their secondary market value should be like. The Vehicles of interest are: 1) Honda Civic Hybrid 2) Nissan X-trail 3) Honda CRV 4) Montero sport(the old model) 6) Hyundia Santafe 7) KIA Sorento
