chan5 replied to The Stig's question in Car Buying Information
had a chance today, to look at corolla wagon and caldina 190 side by side. If OP'S Requirement is space, caldina wins it, about 1 feet more than corolla.visible significant difference.i guess the built quality is same for both and. Both are not good looking imho... -
Car With Ample Luggage Space Below 2.2 Million / Nissan Wingroad Models

with your requirement i guess caldina and ee108 corolla G/L Touring fits you.(You travel far , believe me any retard mechanic might handle above two If in a failure) If caldina , go for second generation at-2** series One, with rear individual suspension.not the leaf springs.i've seen few on sale and it looks more buff than usual caldina 190 series.space is ample.and it shares all mechanicals with popular carina 2** series if i remember correct. If 108- go for L Or G touring (G is the highest grade). Other varieties come with rear leaf springs , i must say it bounce like hell on E01 with leaf springs. Corolla wagon diesel varieties are so common with Non turbo 2C engine. I must say it sucks in acceleration. Most are with hampered odometers and mechanical niggles as usually used by el cheapos . While caldina 190 series comes with 2C-turbo engine which you find NO difference in acceleration as per with average petrol corolla. I don't know much about nissan wingroad. When selecting a toyota wagon main factor is, that there are 2 varieties 1-commercial van (meant to carry goods with rear bench seat and leaf springs, few options, poor sound proofing) 2-station wagon. (meant to carry people as a car , rear shocks , headrest seats, decent options than above version, better sound proofing, different interior trim, and diapragm at boot which separate the upper and lower compartments as needed.) the above is seen among any series such as corolla/caldina/feilder. -
please ignore this retard, his condition is worse by now i guess ? What are the parts which you're talking about , which affect the fuel efficiency so much ? Torque converter ? do you know what's inside autobox apart from the oil ?
-
Can you explain this little bit ? More scientifically?
-
depends on the engine, fuel type, car make , model , the way you accelerate, and various factors, give more detail so people can understand what you ask ?

check weather that your tyre size is exact as factory size.because when sometimes people change tyre sizes with alloy wheels, it gives undervalued speedometer.example , if you travel by 100kmph in real , your meter shows something like 90kmph, so does the odo, .if so you're getting wrong readings from your meter panel.

it's average if you are talking about the colombo city level traffic.

car has toyota 2C T engine, after attending some mechanical repair works in engine bay, the turbo light starts glowing after few minutes of engine start and stays on. The mechanic was clueless about electrics and i tried some another fellow and his suggestions.. 1-Malfunctioning turbo sensor. 2-wrong instalation of vaccume piping lines to solonoids (which is totally mess). So need an engine manual to rule out the possibility "2". Can somebody help with this issue.. An engine manual or, can somebody kindly post real photos of those piping system if you have a car/Van With 2C-T Engine. Thanks...

Best car in that price bracket. Search the forum, it has been discussed to depth. Parts -available, but very rare bits might have to be imported, it's easy, straight forward process. Gearbox , -you might be talking about AL4? Avoid the auto tranny, go for manual. Matter solved. Mechanic-don't bring your next door uneducated baas to inspect peugeot, there are very few mechanics in sri lanka who does possess that skill and knowledge. Know one personally, a very decent individual works for agents, might cost you few thousand bucks. Well worth ,if you're new to car Things, specially euros. Go for it. . . . . A decent car...

Come on . . Relax first. Replacing the lower arm bush is just straight forward job. Can be done at any simple garage with average mechanic. Search the internet and find the part number,( it's some 10 digit number).just because some idiots in auto shops ask for samples. Usually any shop might give the bush for you without part number, it's so common car.so no worries ,just ask for VIOS lower arm bush. There are various brands.. This's the order from low quality to high.. 1-Jaapa 2-Rocky, 3-RBI 4-TZK 5-TOYOTA GENUINE(comes with arm itself as i remember-"not sure" ) toyota genuine is utterly expensive, try find japan brand and it would do the job(TZK).average RBI(Thai) is everywher. Remove both arms, take it to lathe work, remove existing bush and replace new. (don't allow the garage Mechanic to use hammer for that job) AFTER the the job, do a wheel alignment too. Total cost with alignment+labour+bushes will be around 5k. You're ready to drive.... (there's no such hurry as your garage mentioned,) side note- AVOID "MAG SHITTY" at any cost.

i also heard the same story but don't know my one lasted more than year, no problems yet. 50,000k price is not justifiable at any ground, because you can bush it ten times with average brand. Japan parts are around , give it a search in panchi.... Bushing can be done by any small garage, remove the arm, buy bushes from motor shop , insert bushes at lath work shop...

top mount is not rubber as i remember, (driver side one i meant). Other 3 are rubber, indeed you can buy aftermarket bushes which is one third of the price of genuine. Applying bushes to existing mount is lot cheaper and worked more than year for me , and still no problem. Those bushes come with the same brand which produces the complete mount as well. Ex-RBI thai brand, has bushes for mounts and complete mounts too.(mind you , it's a cheap brand).don't go for JAPA brand. Try TZK(something sounds like that, not exactly remember)(JAPANESE) If possible , but cost will be more or less closer to genuine. Don't replace one mount, just replace them all at once, that's always advisable. I usually avoid the damn place called T*yota lanka unless it's a crucial component like timing belt, oil pump ,ect..just because it's un ethical expensive price tag. Labour would be 2-3 k range(dismantle+bushing+install) good luck

thank you for noticing that it's a rumor.

i'm clueless and, come on ? Another 10%.? i simply don't understand what's on the heads of our leaders. All we need is efficient public transportation , since it doesn't seem to happen anywhere near , then people need cars ... When family with 2 children travels on indian crappy two wheeler, in the heavy rain or punishing sunlight,....... "Welcome to the miracle"

NO , it didn't target any post except OT. Just didn't read any of other posts actually, it's retarded from the first post itself.: -
i don't think that a 206 (Well maintained sample )will come below 1 million. It does 6-10kmpl according to how soft you're on foot and traffic level. Resale value- less than toyota - as per average european car. Maintenances- straight forward easy, parts oils, filters are available. Mind you some samples have chronic clutch plate issue and read the forum about that. If you decide on a peugeot ,consider, 1-Brand new import. 2-manual gear , 3-first owner, 4-maintenances history at agents or peugeot specialist.

come on man, my car is a mobile home ,which has everything where a single man need. And it has PRIVACY where you can't have in a three wheeler.you can sleep, yawn, fart or sing . Has 2 bottles of Red labels in case of an emergency, mind you, we all are not moneymakers, being cheap is not the life mate, be what you are, do what you feel it is. Theme of life is not saving the money but enjoying it. I've seen this type of posts in stock trading forums(which is most boring subject on earth for me ), what i've to say is, i do LMAO at those tasteless bandas, i mean, come on. Shut down your directFN /Cedax, find a dark corner of your room , and think how stupid it's to bank the money and use threewheel. -
Mazda Astina.(if you find a one in un modified condition.) most of the specimens have been destroyed by donkey type owners.

oh ... THE Piston erected all OF a sudden to ask this ?

four points to check. 1-horn (it's a symptom of a bad horn)- remove it and check with battery. 2- fuse contact - remove the fuse for horn and clean contact points with alcohol/wd40 3 -switch at steering - can use the same cleaning method.use alcohol.(you can buy from pharmacy) 4 -if all are fine , there should be something with your wiring, /relays .probably a plug , and check for those , you can use a multimeter to check the connections, the beep mode. nothing to do with battery -most probably

think , indika is also a guy who knows what he's doing. "Komisiripala" has got some decent repairs from him and have good positives.before you jumping to another mechanic, why don't you just meet him again and claim your warranty,in case if it has not exceeded 6 months, or else you would still negotiate. Let us know what happens anyway . . .

it's available with 65- and some GA/GB Series numbers, reasonable asking price ranges from 2.6 million to will say 3.2 million.lower end is pre facelift and facelift owners sometimes quote to moon. (one owner was asking me atleast 5 millions ) Observed several samples, and given up the idea because those were mollested by the second OWNER, still some of those are owened by first owners, and dropping these days due to new permit schemes, weekend papers have few samples every week.good luck, i had to settle with a toyota since my first requirement was a diesel. (heavy daily runner )
