  1. I didn't know CIVIC has Idle engine stop feature..
  2. I was hoping to find a similar thread for Montero Sports 2012 in the forums, to help a colleague to find a harness for his vehicle. Unfortunately, not all the vehicle owners are lucky enough to have a dedicated thread in the forum it seems. By the way, if you guys know any places to get hold of harnesses, and inhibitor switches for the Montero Sports please do let me know..
  3. Hi guys, I recently noticed that the 1.5L sedan has duel exhaust pipes vs 1L sedan has single exhaust. I have not come across this anywhere in the reviews or it may not be an important consideration. Would be interesting to discuss any other not so known variations between the models apart from these.
  4. Hi, I think its time to replace the wiper blades or replace the wiper rubber in my Civic. Stafford quoted north of 7k for the rubber few months ago. Any other places to buy a decent wiper/ wiper refill rubber.
  5. Check with car guys Kohuwala also. Their prices "were" reasonable.
  6. What they didn't know is my car itself is assembled in Thailand and came here after taking a quick trip to Australia..🤣.
  7. Have an update on this. Stafford said they are out of stock and previously sold it for 250k. They also mentioned someone else has a Thailand windscreen for 125k. However I managed to find a replacement grass from Galle Windscreen Centre for 50k and got it replaced. they visited my place and completed the job also. pretty satisfied I am.
  8. Hi all, today my car has a weird accident. Yesterday I parked the car at the apartment car part with rear of the car exposed to the sky and rest under a slab. a Crow carrying a piece of bone has dropped it from quite far up in the sky on to my car. the impact point was the rear windscreen. Although the impact was on left top most corner of the glass, the entire glass is fully shattered. Luckily I had witnesses to corroborate this incident. My insurance will cover the cost, but my problem is where to find the rear windscreen. Tried contacting the company, but couldn't get thru to the parts division Galle windscreen Centre said they have the glass and offered to bring it to the place and fix, not sure how reliable their products are.(their price was 45k) Please let me know if you know any other contacts who have reconditioned or brandnew windscreens for Civic Sedan 2018 Thailand Manufactured, Australian version.
  9. Surprisingly they (Stafford-Maradhana) have put 10W30 oil in my car.. After previous post, I read an article about the oil dilution issue. It appears to be affecting the cars operating in the freezing cold temperatures. I hope the Colombo folks will be least likely to be affected.
  10. I've only done 6,000km since purchase. previous owner had 36k on Odo. Stafford has put Motul 4k semi synthetic oil on the last service. I may have to switched to synthetic oil soon. By the way, yesterday I was on the highway and was able to hear a very mild racer/pully sound from the engine bay. tried turning off the AC with no change. Car was on cruise at about 1600RPM doing 90kmph. Starting to wonder whether I should check the turbo immediately.
  11. My car is a Australian import, made in Thailand. Is oil dilution issue is a known issue in 1.5L, if so isn't it better to use a ...W30 oil with higher viscosity than using a w20 oil.
  12. Today I got the new price list for Mobil oils, not looking good though..
  13. Which engine option are those; 1L turbo or 1.5L turbo..? There could be a real possibility of the poor maintenance nah, given the turbo + engine issue ~ if I have not mistaken, the both units share the same oil.
  14. Motul Oil Stafford was using is semi synthetic.. attached is the page from European Civic 1.5 manual. it doesn't say anything about using Synthetic only. I got this from a Civix thread.
  15. Stafford put 10W30 oil at the last service. I'm clueless on the oil type to be used. mine had about 40k on ODO.
  16. Hi all, yesterday I got to know about a repair shop in Malabe said to be specializing in Hondas called SU Motors, Godalla Wathe Rd, Malabe operated by an ex St#fford M#tors guy named Upul generally called Honda Upul. Some one known to me did a repair on the axel and he was very much impressed with the job. Read the Google Map reviews, both positive and negative are there. however one 5 start rating caught my attention. approx. 2 page review was posted by someone left a very good impression. Anybody have any experiences with this place, appreciate if you could share.
  17. True.. with the 30% interest rates + scare and expensive OCT95 + sky rocketing maintenance cost + Scarcity of parts.. a blend that ideally should drive the prices low. However, even if the imports resumed, the same car costed 5mn will cost over 10mn due to LKR depreciation.
  18. Yes, yesterday at Maradana St#fford M#tors. It costed 45,000 a piece + 5,000 in workmanship. I also replaced the front break pads at a cost of 39,000. Today I spoke to a place in Nittambuwa, which rebuilds shocks. He was claiming to be able to repair the shocks. thought of getting the old ones done. Donno whether this is a dumb idea.
  19. Thanks @GWX777and @Dee Jay. I did check the prices, its expensive at Pachikawathe than agents. going to do it tomorrow anyways.
  20. This car was imported brand new and used by a consultant attached to National Hospital. I checked records at Stafford and SLIC. records seems to be true. When I asked Stafford, they said another car also had the same issue with 27k on ODO - and said it's not a manufacturing defect too. I'm just trying to understand whether this is one of those known issues relating to this car. I was able to find nothing in the internet so far.
  21. Hi, I recently bought a FC1 1500CC with 35k on ODO. During the service It was noted both of the rear shocks are gone. Observed the units which doing the wheel alignment - the rear axel has noticeable amount of oil leaked from the shocks. Now looking to replace. At Stafford a piece is quoted at 50k. I'm trying to find the part elsewhere without any success so far. - I have not heard of both shocks failing on such short mileage. is it a known issue in the 10th Gen Civics. - Any other vendors that has these parts Appreciate the advise
  22. it's ok..like I said, its difficult to stay on to a single FM frequancy due to the fact that almost all those are already occupied by the radio channels. hence there will be interruptions.
  23. I have the same unit, this is only a modulator, which means this can play the audio files on the phone via the car stereo. although this comes with a battery inside, you'll have to keep it plugged in continuously to have enough signal strength to reduce the interference from other FM channels, As you mentioned, we can't tune a radio channel using this unit, this would only broadcast the audio on a selected frequency. Since Sri Lanka has more radio channels than what it really needs, you'll have hard time fixing up for one frequency, i generally use 89.0,89.1 and 89.3 depending on where I am.
  24. Just found out, the bulbs I had were GE Megalight Ultra +120 H11
